MUD GUARDS
PREPARING FOR INSTALLATION
What’s in the package?
A. Front mud guard (x2)
B. Rear mud guard (x2)
C. #10 x 1/2” (15mm) Truss head screw (x4)
D. U-nut #10 (x4)
E. Plastic spacer (x4)
F. #8 x 3/4” (19mm) self tapping screw (x6)
G. U-nut #8 (x4)
H. Rear bumper drilling template (x1)
Required tools
- Phillips screwdriver
- Electric drill with 1/16” (1.6mm) drill bit
- Push type fasteners removal tool or flat head screwdriver (if required)
- Car Jack
- Wheel nuts removing socket and wrench
FRONT MUD GUARDS INSTALL
Tips before the installation
- Our mud guards should be installed with the logo facing the rear of the car.
- On some models, the fender liner is attached using screws from the factory. You can reuse those for the install or use the provided screws and u-nuts.
A. Turn your vehicle’s front wheels as much as possible to allow access to the
2 factory fender liner screws/clips.
B. Remove both screws or plastic clips. Some models use Phillips screws from
factory and some use plastic fasteners.
This step is optional if your fender liner was already installed using OEM
metal screws
A. Pull on the fender liner to expose the inside of the fender.
B. Grab 2 of the provided u-nuts(D) and screws(C) that came in the front mud
guards’ package.
C. Slightly pry open each u-nut to facilitate the installation and avoid
scratching the paint.
D. Slide the u-nuts on the fender tabs making sure that the flat face is facing
towards you and that the hole is sitting in the middle.
A. Grab the front mud flap (FX3D logo should be facing the rear of the car).
B. Put one of the factory or provided screws(C) through the upper hole, then
place one of the provided spacers(E) on top and screw it back into the fender
liner.
Don’t tighten all the way to allow for later adjustment.
C. Repeat step B for the second hole.
D. Adjust the mud flap to the desired position and fully tighten both screws.
A. Using a screwdriver or an electric drill, screw one of the provided self-
tapping screws(F) into the bottom hole of the mud guard and through the fender
liner. Don’t over tighten.
B. Repeat steps 1 to 4 on the other side of the car.
REAR MUD GUARDS INSTALL
Tips before the installation
If you car doesn’t have the factory mud guard holes on the rear bumper inner
lip, use the provided template(H) to mark the spots before drilling.
A. Jack you car up so you can remove the rear wheel and gain access to the
bumper inner lip.
B. Use the provided drilling template(H) to mark the spots you will be
drilling.
Make sure to align the bottom of the template to the bottom of the bumper
inner lip.
C. Double check that both marked spots line up with the holes on the rear mud
guards before drilling the bumper.
D. Drill holes using an electric drill equipped with a 1/16”(1.6mm) drill bit.
A. Grab the two supplied spring u-nuts(G) and slightly pry them open to ease
installation and avoid scratching the paint.
B. Slide them on the bumper inner lip making sure that the flat face is facing
towards you and that the hole is sitting in the middle of the drilled spots.
A. Grab the rear mud flap (FX3D logo should be facing the rear of the car).
B. Place one of the supplied self-tapping screws(F) into the upper hole of the
mud guard and screw it into the upper u-nut. Don’t tighten all the way to
allow for later adjustment.
C. Repeat step B for the second hole.
D. Adjust the mud flap to the desired position and fully tighten both screws.
E. Repeat steps 1 to 3 on the other side of the car.
