BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Remove all packaging materials. Place the fryer on a flat, stable surface.
  2. Clean the lid, fryer pot, basket, and housing using warm water and a little dishwashing liquid. Then, dry the parts carefully. These parts can also be washed in a dishwasher.
  3. The heating element can be immersed in water but it must never be placed in the dishwasher. Never get the ELECTRIC UNIT wet.
  4. Fit the heating element and the control panel into the housing by inserting the pins down into the grooves in the rear of the housing.
    • NOTE: The heating element must bepushed all the way down to activate the safety switch. Otherwise, the unit may not be able to heat.
  5. Assemble the fryer basket handle correctly.
    • Hold the handle and squeeze the handle ends together.
    • Place the handle ends into the small holes near the bottom of the fryer basket and release your grip.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Check that the deep fryer is switched off.
  2. Pour fresh liquid oil into the pot to the level between Max. and Min., as indicated inside the pot. Then, place the lid on top.
    • Tip: You can also use lard or another solid fat if you wish, but you will first need to melt it in the pot. Set the temperature control to the lowest temperature and add the fat in small pieces. Only turn the temperature up to the desired level once the fat has completelv melted.
  3. Plug the fryer in. The red power indicator will light up. Set the fryer to the desired temperature by turning the temperature control knob. The green heat indicator will light up and will remain on while the deep fryer is heating up. Once the deep fat fryer has reached the selected temperature, the heat indicator will turn off. The heat indicator will turn on and off during use; this indicates that the fryer is maintaining the selected temperature. Do not add the food until the required temperature has been reached.
  4. Remove the lid from the deep fryer. Place the food into the basket and carefully lower the basket into the pot. Make sure that the oil level does not rise to the edge of the pot. Always hold the basket handle firmly when closing or removing the lid.
  5. When the cooking has finished, set the temperature control knob to the OFF position and lift the basket out of the pot and tilt it so that it rests on three tron thee tAlow there removing the basket.
  6. Remove the plug from the power outlet. Allow the appliance to cool completely (1-2 hours).
    • WARNING: Never move the appliance while it is hot when there is oil in it or if the lid is not on.

TIPS FOR PREPARING FOOD

  • Always make sure that the food is dry before lowering it into the hot oil.
  • Ensure that the pieces of food are roughly the same size so that they cook evenly. Avoid cooking very thick pieces.
  • Some types of food should be breaded before being cooked in the deep-fat fryer.
  • Make sure that you remove as much ice as possible from any frozen food. However, food does not need to be defrosted before cooking.
  • The maximum quantity of deep-frozen French fried potatoes that can be fried at a time is 1.5lb.

DISPOSAL AND STORAGE OF THE OIL

WARNING: Make sure all the oil is only disposed of once it is completely cool!

  • Remove any food residues from the oil after use.
  • Filter the oil regularly.
  • The oil should be changed once it has been used approximately 10 times. All the oil should be changed at the same time; do not mix old oil with new oil. The old oil should be disposed of as per the relevant local regulations.
  • Keep the oil in the deep fat fryer or in an airtight container in a dry, cool, and dark place. (It is not necessary to keep the oil in a fridge.)

TROUBLESHOOTING

  • There is a non-auto resetting thermostat built into the product.
  • If the deep fryer has been in use for a prolonged time, the built-in non-auto resetting thermostat will activate and cut off the power to protect the fryer from overheating.
  • To enable the deep fryer to function normally again, you must reset the thermostat by pushing the reset button (using a plastic or wooden object that is at least 4 cm long) after the heating element has completely cooled down.

CLEANING AND STORAGE

Caution: Unplug the deep fryer from the power outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow it to cool before removing or assembling parts, washing it by hand, or placing it in the dishwasher.

  1. The heating element with the control panel and cord must not be immersed in water. Remove the control panel and heating element before cleaning the appliance.
  2. Once you have poured the oil out of the pot, wipe the inside of the pot with kitchen paper. Then, wash the pot thoroughly.
  3. The housing, pot, lid, and basket with the handle can be washed in hot water and dishwashing liquid or in a dishwasher.
  4. Do not use any kind of strong or abrasive cleaning agent on the deep fat fryer or its accessories. Never use a steel brush or scrubbing brush to clean the fryer as this may damage the surface.
  5. Ensure that the fryer is completely cool before storing. Never store it while it is hot or wet. Store the appliance in a clean, dry place.
