IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

Before using the electrical appliance, the following basic precautions should always be followed:

  1. Do not use the appliance outdoors.
  2. Always unplug the power from the mains socket when not in use and before moving or cleaning.
  3. Never leave the appliance unattended when it is in operation.
  4. Do not allow the power cord to hang over the edge of a counter or a table or come into contact with hot surfaces.
  5. The use of accessories or attachments not recommended by the manufacturer may cause hazards.
  6. Do not move the appliance when it is hot.
  7. Operate the appliance in a well-ventilated area. Maintain a distance of at least 10 cm between all sides of the appliance and any surrounding objects or walls to allow adequate air circulation.
  8. Do not allow the appliance to touch curtains, wall coverings, clothing, dish towels, or other flammable materials when it is in operation.
  9. Do not attempt to dislodge food when the appliance is in operation.
  10. This appliance can be used by children aged 8 and above as long as they receive supervision or instruction concerning its safe use and understand the hazards involved. Children should not conduct cleaning and user maintenance unless they are older than 8 and strictly supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years old.
  11. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
  12. The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
  13. Do not place the appliance in or near a hot gas or electric burner, or permit it to touch a heated oven or mini oven.

Place the plate mountings into the slots on the hinged sides of the appliance and then press the plates down until they click and lock into position.

Press the plate release buttons in the direction of the arrows and then lift the plates out of the appliance.

BEFORE FIRST USE

  1. Remove all packaging materials and wipe the outside of the appliance with a slightly damp cloth.
  2. Clean the cooking plates in warm soapy water. Dry them thoroughly before placing them back into the appliance.
  3. When the appliance is heated for the first time, it may emit smoke. This is normal.
  4. WARNING: DO NOT IMMERSE THE APPLIANCE IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.

HOW TO USE

PREPARATION
  1. Select the desired cooking plates and ensure they are correctly installed.
  2. Close the appliance and place it on a stable, level, heatproof surface.
  3. Plug the appliance into the mains socket.
  4. The red and green indicator light will illuminate, indicating the appliance is heating. After the appliance preheats for approximately 5 minutes, the green indicator light will turn off. The appliance is now ready for use.

NOTE:

  • During cooking, the green indicator light will cycle on and off to maintain the appliance at the correct temperature.
  • To avoid damaging the cooking surfaces, do not use sharp, pointed or metal spatulas to remove food items from the appliance.
COOKING

SANDWICH MAKER

  1. Insert the sandwich plates into the appliance.
  2. Prepare your sandwiches while the appliance is preheating.
  3. Wait until the green indicator light turns off. This indicates the appliance is at the correct temperature for use.
  4. Open the appliance and place the sandwiches on each bottom plate.
  5. Close the appliance and squeeze the handles together until they are latched.
  6. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until the outside of the sandwiches turn golden brown.
  7. Open the appliance and remove the sandwiches using a spatula (not supplied).
  8. Unplug the appliance from the mains socket after use.

WAFFLE MAKER

  1. Insert the waffle plates into the appliance.
  2. Prepare the batter to your taste while the appliance is preheating.
  3. Wait until the green indicator light turns off. This indicates the appliance is at the correct temperature for use.
  4. Open the appliance and gently pour the batter over each bottom cooking plate. Do not overfill.
  5. Close the appliance, and squeeze the handles together until they are latched.
  6. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until the outside of the waffles are a light golden brown colour.
  7. Open the appliance and remove the waffles using a spatula (not supplied).
  8. Unplug the appliance from the mains socket after use. Tips: For best results, all ingredients should be at room temperature before preparing the batter. When making waffles, do not enrich the batter with too much fat, sugar or egg as the colour of the waffles will change too quickly and then turn soft soon after baking.

PANINI GRILL

  1. Insert the grill plates into the appliance.
  2. Ensure the uncooked paninis are no more than 1 cm thick.
  3. Open the appliance and grease the plates with a little cooking oil or butter.
  4. Using a spatula (not supplied), place the food on the bottom plate.
  5. Close the appliance, and squeeze the handles together until they are latched.
  6. Cook for 4-5 minutes or until the outside of the paninis are a light golden brown colour.
  7. Open the lid and check that the food is cooked thoroughly before serving (cook meat and derivatives such as mince, burgers, etc., until the juices run clear. Cook fish until the flesh is opaque throughout).
  8. When cooking pre-packed foods, follow the guidelines on the package or label.
  9. Remove the food using a spatula (not supplied).
  10. Unplug the appliance from the mains socket after use.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  1. Unplug the appliance from the mains supply and leave it to fully cool before cleaning and storage.
  2. Open the appliance and remove the cooking plates.
  3. Clean the cooking plates in warm soapy water. Dry them thoroughly before reinserting them into the appliance.
  4. Any surfaces that have come into contact with food should be thoroughly cleaned to avoid cross-contamination between different types of food. Any surfaces that have come into contact with food can be cleaned using warm, clean water and a mild detergent. Correct food hygiene practices should be followed at all times to avoid the possibility of food poisoning /cross-contamination.
  5. Clean the outside of the appliance with a slightly damp cloth.
  6. Never use abrasive or chemical cleaning agents to clean the appliance.
  7. Do not immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.

STORAGE

  • Always unplug the appliance before storage.
  • Always make sure the appliance is cool and dry before storage.
  • The power cord can be wrapped around the bottom of the base for storage purposes.
