2.2 Product Description

The Cable Matters® USB-c® Smart phone & Tablet Docking Station unleashes all the features of a USB-C smartphone or a tablet while charging at the same time. Stream video, connect two USB peripheral devices, and add a wired Ethernet network over a single USB-C port.
Watch movies from your phone or tablet on a 4K TV. Connect a key- board and mouse to the Dock for editing documents for school or work.

2.3 Product Features

  • Transform a single USB-C Smartphone/Tablet port into a docking station
  • Power and charge a Smartphone/Tablet up to 100W
  • Connect to a wired Ethernet network up to 1000Mbps
  • Supports a maximum of one 4K@60Hz display (3840 x 2160) over HDMI
  • Connect to USB 3.2 devices for data transferring with transfer rate up to 5Gbps
  • Connect a keyboard / mouse to the USB 2.0 port
  • Blue LED light on the dock indicates the smartphone/tablet is connected
  • Plug and play, no driver is required

2.4 Smartphone/Tablet Requirements

  • Video stream requires DisplayPort Alternate Mode to view video over USB-C
  • Fast-charging a smartphone/tablet requires Power Delivery over USB-C
  • Connecting a USB flash drive requires Mass Storage Device support
  • Ethernet connection requires a built-in driver in the smartphone/ tablet

CONNECTION INSTRUCTIONS

3.1 Panel Diagram

  3. 1x USB-C charging port with PD (Doesn’t support QC charging)
  4. 1x USB-A 3.2 port for USB peripherals
  5. 1x USB-A 2.0 port for keyboard and mouse

Note: All cables to connect USB devices to the Dock are sold separately

3.2 Connecting Device

  • Power on the smartphone/tablet and the display
  • Optional: Connect a PD charger to the dock (Note: Make sure your phone/tablet supports PD charging)
  • Connect your phone/tablet to the dock’s USB-C male
  • Connect an HDMI monitor or TV to the HDMI port
  • Connect the dock to a 1000Mbps Ethernet network
  • Connect a USB peripheral to the USB 3.2 port
  • Connect a mouse/keyboard to USB 2.0 port

3.3 Troubleshooting Tips

  • If a pop-up window appears asking for permission to allow access from outside devices, make sure to click “Allow” to establish the connection.
  • Ensure that your smartphone/tablet supports DisplayPort Alternate Mode, as this is necessary for video transmission over USB-C.
  • Check that the blue LED on the dock is lit while in use.
  • Check for the charging indicator on your smartphone/tablet.
  • If the smartphone/tablet case is too thick and blocks the USB-C port, remove the case and use the appropriate silicone pad and/or silicone holders.
  • Check that all cables and dock connections are secure.
  • Test any connected cables with different equipments.
  • Unplug all cables, reboot or restart all devices, and reconnect all the cables.

This product is backed by a limited one-year warranty. In addition, Cable Matters warrants its products against defects in materials and workmanship for the periods noted, following the initial date of purchase. Cable Matters does not warrant its products from defects or damages arising from misuse, abuse, alteration, or normal wear and tear.
