GENERAL INFORMATION

You can connect your device to several types of TVs and other devices. The following are the most common ways:

ATTENTION: TO PREVENT ELECTRICAL SHOCK, INSERT THE WIDE CONTACT OF THE PLUG TO THE WIDE OPENING, AND PLUG IT IN COMPLETELY.
Do not expose the appliance to dripping or splashing liquid, and do not place objects filled with liquid on it, such as a vase.
IMPORTANT WARNINGS
In addition to the careful attention payed on quality standards, safety was also an important factor in the design process of every set-top boxes. However, security is your responsibility, too. The following list contains important information to help you to use the set-top box and its accessories on the correct way.

INSTALLATION

  1. Reading and following the warnings – Before using the appliance, read all of thesafety warnings. Keep these warnings in every case.

  2. Retaining the warnings – Retain the safety warnings, later you might need them.

  3. Acting according to the warnings– Keep the safety warnings.

  4. Polarization – Some appliances are distributed together with polarized AC powercords. These power cords can be used with corresponding type connectors. Ifnecessary, have electrical outlets replaced by an electrician. The power cordshould only be used with a power outlet, extension cord, distributor in which theforks of the power cord can fully be inserted in without being left loose.

  5. Power sources – The device should only be operated from a power sourceconforming to the information label on the rear panel. If you are not sure of theelectrical parameters of your home, consult a specialist.

  6. Overloading – Be careful not to overload the used wall sockets or extensioncords as this may result in fire or electric shock. Overloaded connectors, crackedinsulated cables, broken terminals are potential sources of hazard, can causefire or electric shock. Regularly inspect your wiring and consult a technician ifnecessary.

  7. Power cord protection– Prevent the power cord from being stepped on or gettingbroken, especially at the connecting parts of the appliance and the branchings ofthe power plugs. Make sure that the electrical connector is easily accessible andif needed, immediately accessible for such devices, which do not have a separatepower switch.

  8. Ventilation – The vents on the appliance housing are designed to ensure properventilation of the unit and to prevent it from overheating. Please, never cover theseopenings with any objects placed on or near the device. Only place the appliancein a well-ventilated area and do not place it between different kinds of shelves orinside cabinets, unless proper ventilation of the appliance and heat dissipationduring operation are ensured.

  9. Accessories – Use only accessories approved by the manufacturer.

  10. Water and humidity – Do not use the appliance near humidity, such as bathtubs,washbasins, kitchen sinks: do not place the appliance into damp rooms, e.g. aswimming pool or a similar place. Please, pay attention to safety. For an applianceor accessory supplied with a a power cord, use only devices that have beenmarked with the appropriate safety certificates. Modifications to these devices areprohibited if the endanger safe operation. If you need advice, consult a qualifiedtechnician if necessary.

  11. Accessories – Do not place the appliance on an unstable trolley, stand, tripod, shelfor table. The product may fall and cause serious injury. Use only the accessoriesapproved by the manufacturer for storing the appliance. When installing themounting the device, always follow the manufacturer’s instruction and alwaysuse accessories approved by the manufacturer or the accessory manufacturer.Contact the distributor if you need advice.
    11a. Take extra care when using the appliance placed on a roller stand. Avoidsudden stops, uneven surfaces, and other obstructions that could cause thetip-over of the bracket, personal injury or malfunction of the equipment.

  12. Grounding outdoor antenna – In case of using an outdoor antenna, make surethat the antenna is properly grounded to provide protection from static electricitythat may accumulate.

  13. Electric wires – Installing an outdoor antenna system is not recommended nearby electric wires, other electric lighting or electrical network, and at places where the antenna might get into contact with or fall on such wires. Outdoor access ortouching is strictly prohibited and is life-threatening. Installing an outdoor antennais a dangerous operation and we recommend you to have it installed by a qualified technician.

Use

  1. Cleaning – Unplug the appliance from the electrical outlet before cleaning. Do not use chemicals, only a slightly dampened soft cloth to clean the cover of the appliance.

  2. To prevent the risk of fire or electric shock, do not expose this appliance to water  or other moisture.

  3. Lightning – Unplug the power cable from the outlet by the time of storm or lightning, and if you are not planning to use the appliance for an extended period of time, remove also antenna cable from it. This will prevent the unit from getting damaged by a lighting strike.
    Repair

  4. Repair – Never attempt to repair the appliance at home. Removing the cover will expose you to the risk of a serious, life-threatening electric shock and will invalidate any warranty applicable to the device. Any repairs should only be carried out by qualified service personnel.

  5. State requires service – Unplug your appliance from the power supply and contact a qualified service provider under the following conditions:
    a. If the power cable of the appliance is damaged
    b. If the appliance is exposed to moisture or objects are trapped inside it
    c. If liquid has leaked into the appliance
    d. If the unit does not operate as described in the operating instructions. Only make settings on this machine that are described in this manual. Other settings may not work properly and it may take a long time for the appliance to function properly.
    e. If the unit has been dropped and the cover has been damaged
    f. If there is a significant change in the device performance. If any of the above listed points applies, contact a qualified service center

  6. Replacement parts – Only replacement parts that are approved by the manufacturer or an authorized service center may be used for service purposes. Using of replacement parts from other sources may cause malfunction or personal injury to the unit and void the warranty applicable to this unit.

  7. Heat sources – Do not expose the appliance to radiating heat. Do not store the appliance nearby devices that emit significant heat (such as radiators, amplifiers, etc.)

  8. Mounting on wall or ceiling – The device may only be mounted on wall surfaces or accessories as recommended by the manufacturer or distributor, applying any other mounting manners may cause personal injury or the malfunction of the appliance.

  9. The design, functions and accessories of this device may differ from what is described in this manual without prior notice. If there is a difference, always the concrete product can be considered as the final version.

  10. The Hungarian DVB-T broadcasts are optimized for roof antenna, good quality television reception is provided only in case of properly set, suitable broadband roof antenna and good quality cabling. In case of reception problems, consult an antenna technician or consult your broadcaster.

  11. The list of formats that can be played with the device’s media player function is only informative. Files with particular codec and compression settings may not be playable even if they are in supported file format by your device. The list of supported file types is subject to change without prior notice during firmware upgrade.

INITIAL STEPS

First installation:
After the unit is switched on for the first time, the unit displays the Init Install menu.
You can select between the OSD Language, Country, LCN options with the navigation buttons.
Select the appropriate menu with the navigation buttons, and select from the options.
Accept the selected option by pressing the remote control’s „OK” button. In case of the LCN option is switched on, the device sorts the channels according to the channel assignment defined by the service provider. Select the „Next” menu to start station search.

Installation:

  1. Press the „MENU” button on the remote control.
  2. Use the „RIGHT” / „LEFT” button to select the „Installation” menu in the lower pictogram menu bar.
  3. Use the „UP” / „DOWN” buttons to select the desired item, then hold pressed the „OK” button.
  4. Press the „EXIT” button on the remote control to exit.

Automatic search:
To select Auto search, press the „DOWN” then the „OK” button.
Manual channel search:

  1. Use the navigation buttons to select the Manual Search menu then press the „OK” button.
  2. Use the navigation buttons to set Channel No., the Frequency and the Bandwidth.
  3. After selecting the Start search option, press the „OK” button to start searching.

Ignore encoded broadcasts:

  1. Use the navigation buttons and select the Channel Filter menu, than press the „OK” button.
  2. By selecting the „FTA Only” menu, it only tunes the encoded, open-access channels
  3. By selecting „All Channels” menu, you tune both coded and open-access channels

Selecting region:
Select the „Country” menu to set the region for your location.
Logical channel number:
If the LCN option is on, select the channel you want to change in the channel management menu, then press OK and enter the new channel number to change the channel number.
Antenna power supply:
In „Active Antenna” menu you can select, whether the device is providing power to the antenna through the antenna connection point. (5 V DC)

USE

Changing channel
There are several ways to select the channel you want to display, by scrolling the channels up or down, using the number buttons, or from the the on-screen channel list.

  1. Scroll channels up and down
    Use the „UP” and „DOWN” buttons on the remote control to scroll through the channels on after the other.

  2. By channel number:
    Use the number buttons on the remote control to enter the channel number you want to watch.

  3. On-screen channel list:
    The channel you want to watch can be selected directly from the on-screen channel list. Press the „OK” button while watching TV to display the list.

  4. On-screen favorite channel list:
    It displays the channel list as described in the previous point, then press the „RIGHT” or „LEFT” buttons on the remote control to scroll through the set favorite lists.

Setting volume
Use the remote control’s VOL+ and VOL- buttons to set the appropriate volume on the unit. Too high volume set on the DV-T2 may cause distortion in the TV quality.
Electronic program guide (EPG)
Using the EPG:

  1. Press the EPG button to display the „EPG”.
  2. Use the remote control’s directional buttons on the remote control to choose channels and programs. Use the „RIGHT” / „LEFT” buttons to switch between the TV channel list column and the program list column.
  3. Press the „Green” button on the remote control to set a reminder or recording time for the selected event.
  4. Press the „Red” button on the remote control to display the time zone for easier time selection, toggle between half-day, full-day or weekly view.
    Attention! The information contained in the electronic program guide is theresponsibility of the broadcaster.

CHANNEL EDIT

Channel edit menu
After displaying the main menu, press „RIGHT” / „LEFT” buttons to select „Channel” menu in the bottom menu.
Customizing the list of the TV/Radio channels:

  1. Press the „UP” or „DOWN” buttons and step on „Channel Manager” menu, hold pressed the „OK” button to enter the menu.
  2. The „Channel Manager” menu includes the following options, which you can activate with the color/other buttons on the remote control: red: „Lock”, green: „Del”, yellow: „Skip”, blue: „Rename” OK: „Renumber” To activate the lock function, the device asks for a PIN, the default PIN is 0000
  3. By pressing the TV/Radio button, you can change between the list of the TV and the Radio channels
  4. Press the „EXIT” button to exit.

List of favorites:

  1. Press the „UP” or „DOWN” button and scroll to the „Favorite list” menu, press the „OK” button to enter the menu.
  2. Use the colorful buttons on the remote control to select the favorite group of channels.
  3. Press the „EXIT” button to exit editing and save the settings
  4. Favorite channel list displayed on screen: Press „OK” button to activate channel list, then press „RIGHT” or „LEFT” buttons on the remote control to scroll through the complete list and set favorite list.

SYSTEM SETTING

Default setting
This menu allows you to set the default settings for your device (menu language, screen display format, etc.)

  1. Use the „RIGHT” / „LEFT” buttons to select „Preference” option from the pictograms in the bottom row.
  2. Use the „UP”/ „DOWN” buttons to select the desired item you want, then press the „OK” button
  3. Press the „EXIT” button to exit.

Display language

  1. Press the „UP” or „DOWN” buttons and step on the „OSD Language” menu, press the „OK” button to enter to the menu.
  2. Use the „EP” / „DOWN” buttons to scroll through the languages. Press the „OK” button to activate the selected language

Screen display timing

  1. Press the „UP” or „DOWN” button and step on the „OSD Timeout” menu, press the „OK” button to enter the menu.
  2. With „UP” / „DOWN” buttons you can scroll between display periods. Press the „OK” button to activate the selected time.

Transparency of screen display

  1. Press the „UP” or „DOWN” buttons and step on „OSD Transparency” menu, press the „OK” button to enter the menu.
  2. Use the „UP” / „DOWN” buttons to scroll between the measures of transparency. (0%-60%) Press the „OK” button to activate the selected value

Selecting subtitle language

  1. Press the „UP” or „DOWN” button and scroll „1. Preferred Subtitle” or 2. Preferred Subtitle” menu, press the „OK” button to enter the menu.
  2. Use the „UP” / „DOWN” buttons to scroll through the available languages. Press the „OK” button to activate the selected languages.

Hearing loss function: If provided by the broadcaster, switch off / on subtitles for the selected channel.

Selecting audio language

  1. Press the „UP” or „DOWN” button and scroll on „1. Preferred Audio” or „2. Preferred Audio” menu, press the „OK” button to enter the menu.
  2. Use the „UP” / „DOWN” buttons to scroll between the selectable languages. Press the „OK” button to activate the selected languages.

System setting
This menu item allows you to set the default setting for your device (menu language, screen display format, etc.).

  1. Use the „RIGHT” / „LEFT” buttons to select the „Setting” option
  2. Use the „UP”/ „DOWN” buttons to select the desired element, then press the „OK” button
  3. Press the „EXIT” button to exit.

Timing of recordings, reminders

  1. Press the „UP” or „DOWN” button and scroll the „Timers” menu, press the „OK” button to enter the menu.
  2. Use the „UP” / „DOWN” buttons to scroll through the timer programs (01-27). Press the „OK” button to activate the selected timer.
    – Setting the Date: activate with the „RIGHT” arrow, use the navigation buttons to change the date. DD/MM/YYYY (allow characters only that exist in the calendar to be displayed. e.g.: if you want to set 2 and 31 for the second character, you must first set the second character to 1, so that the device will offer 3 as the first character.) Press the „OK” button to activate the set date.
    – Setting the Program Name: use the „RIGHT” arrow to activate it. Press the „UP” / „DOWN” button to select the desired channel and press the „OK” button to confirm the desired channel.
    – Setting End Time : HH/MM handling similarly, as setting the Date
    – End Time: HH/MM display only, not adjustable
    – Setting Duration: HH/MM handling similarly, as setting the Date. 23:59 is the maximum time period which can be set.
    – Setting Mode: Once, Weekly, Monthly, Yearly, WeekDay
    – Setting the Type: On, Record, Channel: switches to the set channel or turns on the device at the set time, Standby: Switches the device on or off at the set time.
    When you have set all the timer information, you can accept the settings by pressing the „OK” button, activating the timer this way.

Green LED light on when the active recording timer is off and red LED light in case other timings.

Warning!
In timer recording mode, the remote control functions will not be locked. In case of a channel change, the unit pauses recording from the set channel, if you reset the unit with the remote control to the originally set channel during the preset timing, the unit will continue recording according to the preset program. The interrupted recording is recorded in separate files.
When the timer recording starts, the receiver will also activate the TV if it was previously in standby mode.

Parental guide
From the „Setting” menu, select the „Child lock” option, then press the „OK” button.
Enter the security code (the default code is „0000”). After entering the correct password, the parental control menu will appear.

  1. System Lock: The device does not allow broadcasts with age values specified in the Parental Rating menu. You can turn the lock on/off with this option.
  2. Parental Rating: you can choose between the selection of 0 and 4-18 years age
  3. Changing PIN: After entering the old code, enter the new code and enter the new password again in line Confirm Password. This activates the new security code.

Setting local time:
From „Setting” menu, select the „Date Time” option, then press „OK” button.

  1. Date Time mode: In case of selecting Auto setting option, the device displays the date and time specified by your service provider.
  2. In case of Manual setting option, you can manually set the date and time.
  3. The Time Zone menu is active only when selecting the Auto setting option. If you have set time zone manually, the Day Light.
    Saving menu becomes active, can be switched on/off.

Ethernet settings:
In case of HD T2 devices, this option is not available.
Factory reset:
To activate the factory reset menu, you need to enter the security code (default code: 0000). After entering the security code, the device will be reset and the Init Install menu activates. The machine will lose its previous settings.
Firmware update of the device from USP data storage:
Allows the user to upgrade the software version via USB.

  1. Enter the „Setting” menu and select the „Update” menu, then press the „OK” button
  2. Enter the „USB Upgrade” menu and select the program you want to install from the background storage

Device version information:
The „Version” menu provides information on the hardware, software, firmware, date of manufacture and MAC address. Press EXIT to exit the menu.
Automatic switch off:
In the „Auto Standby” menu, you can schedule the device to switch off when it is inactive. If no activity is performed before the set time expires, the remote control will switch off in standby mode. You can set 1-2-3 hours or disable this position.
Setting audio and video features

  1. Use the „RIGHT” / „LEFT” buttons to select the „AV setting” option
  2. Use the „UP”/ „DOWN” buttons to select the desired element, then press „OK” button
  3. Press the „EXIT” button to exit.

Setting digital audio output:
Selectable options in „SPDIF” menu for setting the coaxial audio output:

  • Mute: There is no signal at the audio output
  • PCM: two-channel stereo signal at the output
  • Bitstream: All audio channels on the output, typically Dolby Digital or DTS

Setting aspect ratio:
Selectable options in „Aspect Ratio” menu for setting the screen display:

  • 16:9
  • Full screen
  • 4:3 LB (Letter Box)
  • 4:3 PS (Pan Scan)

Setting video output:
Selectable options in „Video Output” menu for setting the digital video output:

  • CVBS: turn on composite video signal
  • RGB:

Video Resolution setting:
– Auto Detect, 480p_60, 480i_30, 576p_50, 576i_25, 720p_60, 720p_50, 1080i_30, 1080i_25, 1080p_60, 1080p_50
HDMI audio output options:
Selectable options in „HDMI Audio” menu to set the HDMI audio output:

  • Mute: There is no signal at the audio output
  • HDMI PCM: two-channel stereo signal at the output
  • HDMI RAW: All audio channels on the output, typically Dolby Digital or DTS

Playing media content (image, film, music) from storage, time shift recording

  1. Use the „RIGHT” / „LEFT” buttons to select „Media Center” option from the bottom row pictograms
  2. Use the „UP” / „DOWN” buttons to select the item you want, then press the OK button.
  3. Press the “EXIT” button to exit.

Playing multimedia contents:
If you select „Multimedia” menu, the contents of the device can be played on the USB storage. In „Video” menu, you can play the files on the storage. You can select directories and files on your device with the navigational and „OK” buttons. You can play, pause and stop playback with PLAY/PAUSE/SOP buttons. Supported file formats: MPG, VOB, DAT, ASF, MKV, RM, WMV, TS, QT

  • In the „Music” menu, you can play audio files from the storage. You can select directories and files on your device using the navigation and “OK” buttons. You can play, pause and stop the playback of the contents, using the PLAY/PAUSE/SOP buttons. Recommended file systems: WMA, WAV, MP3

  • In the „Photo” menu, you can play image files on the storage. You can select directories and files on your device using the navigations buttons and press the “OK” button to display the desired image file. Double-pressing the „MENU” button the data of the displayed picture can be displayed.

  • In the “Record Manager” menu, you can play video files recorded on the digital receiver to the storage. You can select directories and files on your device using the navigation and “OK” buttons. You can play, pause and stop the playback of the contents, using the PLAY/PAUSE/SOP buttons. Use the colored buttons to delete and rename the recordings.

  • Use the colored buttons to replace, copy, rename or delete files on the storage under „Disk Manager” menu.

  • In „EBook” menu, you can display E-books

During playback of all multimedia contents, press the „MENU” button to activate the „Media Center”/”Multimedia Configuration” menu. This allows you to select:

– MP4 subtitle language,
– language of the e-book
– the type of movie, music, photo repeat you are playing

  • repeat the entire library
  • repeat playback of the selected movie or
  • switch off repeat

– Background music switched on/off
– In „SlideTime” menu, you can set, how often the displayed photos change (3-69-12-15s)
– In „Effect” menu, you can set the image changing according to the desired effect.

Recording media content:
Plugging an external mass storage device into the USB port makes it possible to use the Time shift (Pausing the projected show, and restarting it later -TimeShift) or use of continuous recording in a projected show. The recording is made in.TSV format. If you run out of external storage, the recording process will be interrupted. Both recording features require a larger (>2GB) USB2.0 pendrive or HDD.

Setting timeshift timeout:

  1. Use the „RIGHT” / „LEFT” buttons to select the „Media Center” option

  2. Press the „UP”/ „DOWN” button to select „Setting the recorder” element, then press the „OK” button to activate time shift settings.
    – In the „Files size” menu, you can set the size of the recorded file to Auto, 1G, 2G, 3G, 4G (GB)
    – „Timeshift”: Off, Auto or Pause
    – „Timeshift Length”: Auto, 30mint, 1hr, 2hr
    – „Timeshift to Record”: Off, On

  3. Press the „EXIT” button to exit

Installation:
You can activate the Time Shift function by pressing the “Pause” button while watching a program. You will see an image on the TV screen. Press Play to start playback, with the following options available: Press the „Pause” button to pause playback.

  • Press the „FORWARD” button to fast forward the playback
  • Press the „BACK” button to rewind the playback

Stop time shift recording
Press the „STOP” button to stop Timeshift. When you turn your timer off, the recording is deleted from the mass storage.
Using continuous recording:
The remote control can be started by pressing the REC button. By pressing the REC button again, you can set the length of the recording. By pressing the STOP button it can be stopped. Double-pressing the MENU button will check the recording time. When a recording is started, another channel can be selected for further viewing, the recording continues according to the parameters that have been started.
IPTV: this feature is not available on HD T2 type appliance.
Onlinevideo: this feature is not available on HD T2 type appliance.

WARNINGS
Handing USB storage properly:
To avoid malfunction, take the followings into consideration:

  • Read the instruction manual of the USB storage device (or the connected media unit) carefully.
  • Do not touch it by hands or using other objects, and keep them clean.
  • Use only a quality memory unit. Even these do not always work well, depending on their type and condition. Their operation is not always guaranteed.
  • Depending on the memory type, status and encoding software settings, the device may not play or display everything.
  • Playback of copy protected file (copy protection) is not guaranteed.
  • It may take some time for the USB storage to start playing. If it contains a foreign file, it may take a long time for to play.
  • IT IS FORBIDDEN to remove the USB mass storage device during playback or recording. Stop the playback/recording mode and then remove the device to prevent its memory from getting damaged.
  • Usage of a MAX 32 GB USB flash drive recommended or HDD MAX 500 GB
  • Do not use the USB socket to charge other device’s accumulators.
  • The recommended file system of the memory unit: FAT32. Do not use NTFS formatted!

DISPOSING OF ALKALINE AND RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES
Batteries, whether alkaline or rechargeable, must not be handled together with regular household waste. It is the legal obligation of the product’s user to dispose of batteries at a nearby collection center or at a retail shop. TROUBLESHOOTING

In some regions, digital terrestrial signals may be weak. Use an antenna with a built-inamplifier to watch weak signal channels.

Malfunction Possible cause To do
The standby lamp is off The power cable is unplugged. Check the power cable.
Cannot find signal Antenna not connected. Antenna damaged / is set

incorrectly.
Signal is out of range.| Check the antenna cable.
Check the antenna.
There is no image or sound| ScarVAV not selected on the N.| Check the cable that connects to the N. Test the TV ScartIAV connector, or the AV source.
Does not respond to the remote control| The receiver is off, the remote control The receiver is off.
The remote control is not correctly pointed to the direction of it.
The front is covered Remote control battery is depleted| Plug in and turn on the receiver.
Point the remote control at the front panel.
Make sure it is not covered.
Replace the batteries.
Forgotten channel lock code| | Reinstall the channels to unlock the lock
The remote control does not operate the set-top box.| (1)replace the batteries in the remote control
(2)something is blocking the signal path on the way from the remote control to the device| (1)replace the batteries in the remote control
(2)Check that nothing blocks the signal path
After moving the set-top box to another room, it will not find a digital signal.| The antenna signal may arrive at the new location through a distribution system, which reduces the signal strength.| Try using a direct antenna signal.
