STRICTLY OBSERVE THE FOLLOWING GUIDELINES IN ORDER TO USE THE PRODUCT PROPERLY
AND AVOID POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ACCIDENTS.
STEP 1
Read and understand all steps in the instructions before starting the
installation. Park the motorcycle on a hard, level surface and turn off the
ignition. Let cool.
WARNING! YOU WILL BE WORKING AROUND THE ENGINE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM DURING
INSTALLATION. ENSURE THAT THE ENGINE AND EXHAUST SYSTEM HAVE FULLY COOLED TO
PREVENT INJURY.
NOTE:Our Lightning Valve Covers are stunning chrome die5cast covers
designed to shroud the existing valve covers. The design of the lower
Lightning Covers allows them to be removed as a unit with the stock covers for
easy access to the spark plugs. Removal of the stock upper valve covers
requires the upper Lightning Covers be removed to allow access to the
fasteners. When prying the Lightning covers free, care must be taken to avoid
damaging both the lightning covers and the stock covers beneath. Contact us at
toll free (866) 2775 9598 to purchase replacement adhesive pads, P/N 3902,
should the covers need to be removed and replaced.
STEP 2 Place the bike on its center stand.
STEP 3 Identify each Lightning Valve Cover and note its proper location
for installation on the motorcycle. PIC 1
STEP 4 Select one of the four Lightning Valve Covers. Without removing
the backing from the adhesive pads, test fit the cover. If necessary,
temporarily remove any accessories (highway pegs, etc.) that inhibit
installation.
STEP 5 Remove any grease or debris from the valve covers with soapy water
and a clean rag; allow the area to dry completely. Clean the valve covers with
the included alcohol cleaning pads to remove any residue and allow the area to
dry completely. ATTENTION! Thoroughly clean the area of grease, oil, dirt,
or other debris to ensure proper adhesion. Küryakyn WILL NOT warranty any
parts lost due to improper installation.
ATTENTION! The adhesive may not correctly bond if applied at temperatures
less than 50°F. Do not attempt this installation in temperatures less than
50°F.
STEP 6 Rub each pad firmly with your fingernail BEFORE removing the
backing to activate the adhesive contained in the foam core of the pad. Once
you have activated all pads, remove the backing from each and maneuver the
cover into position. Hold it firmly in place for one full minute to ensure a
good initial bond. Full bonding will occur in 24 hours.
STEP 7 Repeat STEP 5 and STEP 6 for the remaining three Lightning Valve
Covers.
STEP 8 Replace any accessories that may have been removed in STEP 4.
ATTENTION! It is the installer’s responsibility to ensure that all of the
fasteners (including pre5assembled) are tightened before operation of the
motorcycle. Küryakyn will not issue a warranty on components lost due to
improper installation. Periodic maintenance may be required.
LIGHTNING VALVE COVERS
STEP 9 Start the bike and allow it to run until it reaches normal
operating temperature. After five minutes at normal operating temperature,
turn the bike off and allow it to sit over9night (10912 hours).

LIMITED WARRANTY
Küryakyn warrants that any Küryakyn products sold hereunder, shall be free of defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase by the consumer excepting the following provisions:
- Küryakyn shall have no obligation in the event the customer is unable to provide a receipt showing the date the customer purchased the product(s).
- The product must be properly installed, maintained and operated under normal conditions.
- Küryakyn makes no warranty, expressed or implied, with respect to any gold plated products.
- Küryakyn shall not be liable for any consequential and incidental damages, including labor and paint, resulting from failure of a Küryakyn product, failure to deliver, delay in delivery, delivery in nonconforming condition, or for any breech of con tract or duty between Küryakyn and a customer.
- Küryakyn products are often intended for use in specifc applications. Küryakyn makes no warranty if a Küryakyn product is used in applications other than intended.
- Küryakyn electrical products are warranted for one (1) year from the date of purchase by the con sumer. Components of Küryakyn products containing L.E.D.s will be warranted for defects in materials and workmanship for 3 years from the date of purchase.
- Küryakyn makes no warranty of any kind in regard to other manufacturer’s products distributed by Küryakyn. Küryakyn will pass on all warranties made by the manufacturer and where possible, will expedite the claim on behalf of the customer, but ultimately, responsibility for disposition of the warranty claim lies with the manufacturer.
