INSTALLATION GUIDE FASCIA
DASH DISASSEMBLY
-
Note: this installation kit will work with both OEM single DIN and touchscreen system layouts. In both cases, begin the installation by using a panel removal tool to disengage the clips that hold the main fascia panel in place. This panel also includes the side vents. Once out, remove all connections between either the single DIN radio or touch screen monitor.
-
Above – with single DIN radio.
-
Below – with touch screen radio.
-
With the main fascia panel out of the way, undo the following four screws and put these to one side. With the screws out, fully remove the metal bracket.
Note: Touchscreen models will have the main head unit housed here. Simply disconnect the wiring and follow the guidance above. -
Undo all four screws located on the rear of the main fascia panel. These screws will disengage the air vents and trim from the main single DIN unit/touch screen.
-
Position the new fascia panel in front of the main air vent/trim panel and screw it into place using the screws provided in this kit.
BRACKET ASSEMBLY -
Take the brackets found within the kit and offer them up to the relevant side of the new radio. Once positioned correctly, screw them into place using a set of radio screws (not supplied with this kit).
-
With the brackets attached and the connections made to the rear of the radio, place the unit into the dashboard and screw it into place using the four pre-existing screws removed earlier (see Step 2).
-
Place the new fascia panel over the front of the new radio to complete the installation.
Note: if the radio sits too far forward/back, repeat the process from Step 5 and adjust the depth of the radio accordingly.
WIRING INSTALLATION GUIDE
Before installing the interface, the factory stereo must be removed and disconnected. To do this, please consult the vehicle owner’s manual/handbook or contact a fitting professional.
The universal stereo connection (patch) lead will need to be configured for the head unit prior to the installation of this interface. Please ensure you have prepared the wiring loops in accordance with the instruction manual supplied with the product before installation.
-
Connect the 12-pin connector from the stereo connection (patch) to the interface box.
-
Connect the opposite end of the stereo connection (patch) to the steering wheel control input on the back of the aftermarket stereo.
NOTE: This may be a 3.5mm jack connector or a wired input depending on the brand of aftermarket stereo being fitted. Please consult the aftermarket stereo installation manual for further information on where to make the connection.
IMPORTANT: THIS STEP MUST BE COMPLETED BEFORE CONNECTING POWER TO THE INTERFACE. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN A LACK OF FUNCTIONALITY AND THE NEED TO REINSTALL THE PRODUCT. -
Connect the 14-pin connector from the supplied wiring loom to the interface box.
-
Connect the power/speaker ISO connector to the power/speaker ISO connector at the rear of the aftermarket stereo.
NOTE: For aftermarket stereos that do not have an ISO connector, please see “Wiring Key” on Pg.2 for information on which wires to connect -
Attach the antenna adapter between the vehicle’s pre-existing connector as well as the rear of the aftermarket head unit.
NOTE: If vehicles feature an amplified aerial, the blue wire will be needed for purposes of phantom power. -
Connect the 16-pin vehicle-specific connector to the vehicle’s main power connector.
-
Test stereo and steering wheel control functionality for correct operation before reassembling the vehicle dashboard. If steering wheel control functions are unresponsive, please uninstall the interface and wiring and reinstall carefully in accordance with the above steps.
