maquira Master Temp Bisacrylic Resin Instructions

DESCRIPTION

Master Temp is a self-curing resin compos- ite for the fabrication of esthetic, long-last- ing temporaries for indirect procedures such as inlays, onlays, crowns, veneers and bridges. It is also indicated for the reline of prefabricated resin, polycarbonate or metal restorations, and also in mock-up procedures (prosthetic simulations, such as laminates).

INDICATION OF USE

  • Fabrication of long-term esthetic temporaries, such as inlays, onlays, crowns, veneers and bridges.
  • Refilling of prefabricated resin, polycar- bonate or metal restorations.
  • Mock-up procedures (simulations of prosthetics, such as laminates).

PRESENTATIONS

Master Temp in colors: A1, A2, A3, A3, 5, B1 and BLEACH.

  • Box with 1 cartridge of 75 g and 6 or 10 mixing tips.
  • Box with 1 syringe with 7 g and 5 mixing tips.

COMPOSITION

Monomers, stabilizer, UV blocker, fluores- cent agent, catalyst, fillers, initiators and pigments.

MODE OF USE

Recommended application

  1. Before preparing the crown and bridge or an extraction, take an impression with alginate, silicone or a thermoplastic impression material. Alternatively, the provisional can also be made with a İaboratory-prepared thermoformable tray or in the case of an individual crown with a composite crown. Strictly observe the manufacturer’s instructions.
Note: When using a silicone impression, it is necessary to compensate the retentive zones and, if necessary, to open pressure relief grooves. To create a connection between the abutment teeth in the case of spaces in the molar region, a groove must be opened in the impression.

  2. Dry the prepared teeth and compensate for existing retentive areas in the prepara- tion. Then lightly lubricate the stumps and surrounding tissue and, if necessary, the existing composite stump creations with vaseline or a similar lubricant.

  3. Select the desired resin shade and insert the respective cartridge into the dispens- er/pistol or use the respective syringe (see “Using the Automix cartridge” / see “Using the dual barrel syringe”). Note: To avoid bubble formation it is important that the mixing tip always remains immersed in the material during application. During filling keep excess material to a minimum.

  4. Fill impression or tray with Master Temp. Apply material to the occlusal areas of the impression or tray first and fill towards the gingival areas.

  5. Place the Master Temp resin filled impres- sion or tray onto the prepared tooth no later than 45 seconds after commence- ment of mixing, applying moderate pressure, and secure.
Note: The setting process has to be monitored intraorally (e.g. with a probe), as polymerization is significantly affected by the temperature in the mouth and removal of the temporary is only possible during the elastic phase.

  6. The temporary should be removed from the mouth during the elastic phase, i.e. within 1 30 S to 2 min 30 s after the start of mixing. min
Note: To further improve the accuracy of large temporaries, they can be placed back into the impression until final polymeriza- tion after removal from the mouth.

  7. Remove the oxygen inhibition layer from the surface of the provisional before preparation (e.g. with alcohol).
Caution! When preparing the interim, it is possible for dust to get into the eyes and into the respiratory tract.

    • Wear a face mask and goggles.
    • Aspirate the dust and do not inhale it.
  8. Approximately 5 minutes after the start of mixing prepare the provisional with a cross-toothed cutter, flexible discs, etc.

  9. Check the occlusion and, if necessary, rectify with appropriate instruments.

  10. If necessary, apply a light-curing high gloss varnish to the surface of the provisional or polish it by hand with a rubber polisher or goat hair brush.

  11. Clean the stub, dry and remove the lubricant.

  12.  Attach the temporary.
Note: Any temporary cement can be used to fix the temporary. We recommend the use of eugenol-free cements. Cements contain- ing eugenol may impede polymerization of resin cements during definitive fixation.

  13. Check occlusion and adapt accordingly.

Customization and repair of Provisionals

Note: When customizing and repairing newly created temporaries it is not necessary to sand or use an adhesive agent (continue with step 2).

Caution! When preparing the provisional, it is possible for dust to penetrate the eyes and airways.

  1. Wear a face mask and goggles. • Aspirate the dust and do not inhale it.
  2. Repairing old temporaries: Lightly sand the temporary in place with a milling cutter or sandblast. Then apply an adhesive agent according to the manufacturer’s instruc- tions for use.
  3. Apply Master Temp to all surfaces.
  4. Compress the parts for 3 minutes.
  5. After 5 minutes prepare the site as usual. Notes: To speed up the polymerization it is possible to put the prepared part for a few minutes in hot water at a temperature of 50 °C (122 °F).

Using the Automix cartridge

Insert cartridge:

  1. Press the lever at the back of the dispens- er/pistol upward and pull the slide all the way back.
  2. Pull up the plastic latch, insert the cartridge and lock with the plastic latch.
Note: Make sure that the grooves on the cartridge match those on the dispens- er/pistol.

Apply the mixing nozzle

  1. Remove and discard the used cartridge cap or mixing cannula after 90° counter- clockwise rotation.
  2. Apply a new mixing nozzle. Note: Make sure that the grooves on the mixing cannula match those on the cartridge.
  3. Lock the mixing nozzle by turning it 90° clockwise.

Material Application

  1. On the first use of a cartridge expel a pea-sized amount of material and discard.
  2. Mix the material by pressing the lever on the dispenser/pistol into the mixing tip and apply directly.
Note: Keep the mixing tip used after application in the cartridge to serve as a сар.

Removing the cartridge

  1. Press the lever at the back of the dispens- er/pistol upward and pull the slide all the way back.
  2. Pull up the plastic latch and remove the cartridge.

Using the dual barrel syringe

  1. Before applying the mixing tip remove the cap or used mixing tip by turning it 90° counterclockwise and discard.
  2. Apply a new mixing tip. Note: Make sure that the grooves on the dual barrel syringe match those on the mixing tip.
  3. Lock the tip by turning it 90° clockwise.
  4. On first use of a syringe expel a pea-sized amount of material and discard.
  5. The material is mixed in the tip during expulsion and can be applied directly.
Notes: Keep the used mixing tip after application in the dual barrel syringe to serve as a cap.

  • Contact of unpolymerized Master Temp with skin, mucous membranes and eyes should be avoided. When still unpolymer- ized, the product may cause a mild irritant effect and promote sensitization to methacrylates.
The product may cause some level of irritation if in contact with and/or very close to the dental pulp.

  • To avoid allergic reactions to the methac- rylate monomer, the constant use of gloves is recommended. If Master Temp comes into contact with the hands, wash with plenty of water.

  • In case of contact with the eyes, rinse them thoroughly with running water and contact a physician immediately.

  • Master Temp should not be swallowed or aspirated. In case of ingestion or aspiration, seek medical attention immediately.

  • Do not leave Master Temp within reach of children.

PRECAUTIONS

  • Use Master Temp as stated in these instructions.
  • The product is indicated for professional use only.
  • To eliminate the risk of irritation, areas very close to the pulp should receive adequate protection (application of Calcium Hydroxide-based liners, for example). Avoid using Eugenol-based materials with Master Temp. Cements containing eugenol may impede the polymerization of resin cements during definitive fixation.
  • During preparation of the provisional wear a face mask and eye protection to prevent dust from entering the eyes and airways.
  • Residual methacrylate-based materials may alter the solidification behavior of silicone impression materials and bite registration materials. If a restoration has been previously placed, thoroughly clean the preparation and surrounding tissue with an alcohol and water sprayed gauze prior to impression-taking.
  • Replace the cap on the cartridge after each use.
