Tell LC2400 Series Heavy Duty Grade 2 Cylindrical Leverset
Product Information
The product is a door lock that is designed to be used on doors that are 1-3/8″ to 2″ (35mm-51mm) thick. It can be used for new installations or as a replacement for old locks and latches. The tools required for installation include a Phillips head screwdriver, a 1″ (25.4mm) drill bit, and a chisel (for new installations). The product includes a lever catch tool, mounting screws, a turn button, a latch, and a lock body assembly.
Product Usage Instructions
New Installation:
- Mark the center of the door edge, starting 38″ from the floor.
- Select the desired backset (2-3/8″ or 2-3/4″) and mark the hole center on the door.
- Drill a 2-1/8″ (54mm) hole for the lockset and a 1″ or 31/32″ (24.6mm or 25.4mm) hole for the latch.
- Chisel the hole for the latch until the faceplate is flush with the door edge.
- Insert the latch into the hole and tighten the screws. Make sure the latchbolt bevel faces the closing direction.
Replacement Installation:
- Follow steps 3C, AC, 5, 6, and 7 for replacement installation after removing the old lock and latch.
Installing Strike:
- Measure half of the door thickness from the door stop to mark the vertical center line of the strike.
- Drill a 1″ (25.4mm) hole, 1/2″ (12.7mm) deep at the intersection of the horizontal and vertical center lines.
- Cut out the jamb 3/32″ (2.4mm) deep or until the strike is flush with the jamb. Tighten the screws securely.
Installing Inside Mounting Plate and Rose Liner:
- Install the inside mounting plate to the lock body.
- Press the inside rose liner onto the mounting plate and tighten the mounting screws securely.
- Make sure to fit the rose in the recess of the rose liner.
- Depress the lever catch with the provided tool.
- Push the inside lever on completely until the catch engages in the lever. Confirm that the lever is secured.

INSTALLATION IS SAME FOR PRIVACY AND PASSAGE MODELAS WELL
TOOLS REQUIRED
NEW INSTALLATION:
phillips head screwdriver 1″ (25.4mm) drill bit chisel
FOR REPLACEMENT:
phillips head screwdriver
FOR USE ON DOORS 1-3/8″ TO 2″ (35MM-51MM) THICK
FOLLOW ALL STEPS FOR NEW INSTALLATION.
FOLLOW STEPS 3C, AC. 5, 6. 7. 8 FOR REPLACEMENT INSTALLATION AFTER REMOVAL OF
OLD LOCK AND LATCH.
MARK DOOR

a. Start 38″ from floor and mark center of door edge.

b. Select backset 2-3/8″ or 2-314″ and mark hole center on door face.
NOTE: BACKSET ON DOOR FACE MUST BE SAME AS BACKSET OF YOUR LOCK. -
c. Mark two holes for screw post.
DRILL HOLES
Drill holes as marked.
NOTE: DRILL 2-1/8″ (54mm) HOLE FROM
BOTH SIDES TO AVOID SPLITTING WOOD.
INSTALL LATCH
Insert latch in hole and keep it parallel to door face.
Mark outline and remove latch.
Chisel 11/64″ (4—4.3mm) deep or until faceplate flush with door edge.
Insert latch and tighten screws.
NOTE: LATCHBOLT BEVEL MUST FACE TO CLOSING DIRECTION.
INSTALL STRIKE
Close door to mark horizontal line of strike.
Measure one half of door thickness from door stop to mark vertical center line of strike. Drill 1″ (25.4mm) hole, 1/2″ (12.7mm) deep at intersection of horizontal and vertical center lines.
Cut out jamb 3/32″ (2.4mm) deep or until strike flush with jamb. Tighten screws securely..
REMOVE INSIDE TRIM
ADJUST DOOR THICKNESS
INSTALL OUTSIDE LEVER ASSEMBLY
Install outside lever assembly on the door. Make sure tail of latch is engaging with retractor correctly as illustrated.
INSTALL INSIDE MOUNTING PLATE
AND ROSE LINER
Install inside mounting plate to lock body.
Press inside rose liner onto mounting plate and tighten mounting screws securely
INSTALL INSIDE ROSE AND LEVER
Be sure to fit rose in recess of rose liner.
Depress lever catch with tool provided.
Push inside lever on completely until catch engages in lever. Confirm lever is
secured.
