Description

Before First Use

Unpacking

  1. Unpack all the parts.
  2. After unpacking, ensure that no part is missing or damaged. If any part is damaged or incomplete, please contact our after-sales service.
  3. Clean the appliance and its components.

Remove any residue from the appliance

  1. Place the appliance on a flat, level, heat-resistant surface.
  2. To obtain a perfect flavor, operate the appliance for two or three cycles with fresh water (without coffee) before using it for the first time.
  3. After all the water has run through the appliance, turn off the power. Pour away the water and leave the appliance to cool for five minutes.
  4. Refill the water reservoir and repeat the process.
  5. An odor may be given off during this procedure due to the combustion of residue. This is normal and should dissipate with subsequent use.

    This marking means that this equipment, at the end of its useful life, cannot be disposed of with other household waste. The user is required to deliver it to operators who collect used electrical and electronic equipment. Collection operators, including local collection points, shops and local authorities, create an appropriate EN
    system for collecting equipment. Appropriate collection of used Electrical and electronic equipment helps avoid harmful impacts on human health and the environment, resulting from the presence of hazardous components, as well as from improper storage and treatment of this equipment.

  7. Unplug the appliance from the power socket when not in use, or before cleaning it.

  8. Warning! Do not immerse the mains plug, the mains cable or the appliance in water or any other liquid! Never hold the appliance under running water!

  9. The appliance must not be used with an external timer or a separate remote control system.

  10. Risk of burns! The hot plate and the jug become very hot when the appliance is in use. Hold the jug only by the handle.

  11. This appliance is designed for household use and similar uses such as:

    • Staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
    • Farm houses;
    • By clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
    • Bed and breakfast type environments.

  14. When using an extension cable, make sure that the capacity corresponds to the power consumption of the appliance.

  15. Place the appliance on a flat, stable, heat-resistant surface.

  16. Always switch off the appliance before disconnecting the mains plug.

  17. Connect the mains plug into an easily accessible socket so that the appliance can be disconnected immediately in an emergency. Remove the mains plug from the socket to completely shut off the appliance. Use the mains plug as a breaking device.

  18. Never use a damaged appliance! Unplug the appliance from the socket and contact your dealer if it is damaged.

  19. Risk of electric shock! Do not attempt to repair the appliance yourself. In case of malfunction, repairs should be carried out by qualified personnel.

  20. Do not use the appliance with wet hands or while standing on damp surfaces. Do not touch the mains plug with wet hands.

  21. Never open the housing of the appliance! Do not insert any foreign objects into the housing.

  22. Do not place heavy objects on top of the appliance. Do not place objects with flames (i.e. candles) on or near the appliance. Do not place objects filled with water (e.g. vases) on or near the appliance.

  23. For additional protection, we recommend that you use a residual current device (RCD) with a trip current not exceeding 30 mA, installed in the electrical circuit supplying power to your appliance. The installation must be carried out by an experienced electrician.

  24. Risk of suffocation! Keep all packaging materials out of the reach of children and babies!

  25. Recycle packaging materials in accordance with regulations. Ask the local authorities where the collection centres or recycling centres are located.

  26. Warning: Avoid spillage on the connector.

  27. Warning :There is a potential risk of injuries from misuse.

  28. The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use.

  29. Coffee maker should not be placed in cabinet when in use.

BEFORE FIRST USE

Unpacking

  3. Clean the appliance and its components ( CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE).

Remove any residue from the appliance.

  1. Place the appliance on a flat, level, heat-resistant surface.
  2. To obtain a perfect flavour, operate the appliance for two or three cycles with fresh water (without coffee) before using it for the first time ( 5. USING THE APPLIANCE).
  3. After all the water has run through the appliance, turn off the power. Pour away the water, then leave the appliance to cool for five minutes. Refill with water and repeat the process.
  4. An odour may be given off during this procedure due to the combustion of residue. This is not a malfunction of the appliance. Ensure sufficient ventilation in the room !
  5. Leave the appliance to cool at room temperature. Clean the appliance (CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE).

USING THE APPLIANCE

Warning!

  • Always fill the coffee maker with water before turning it on. We recommend using softened or filtered water to avoid any build-up of scale.
  • Never fill higher than the maximum level line 10 to ensure that hot water does not spill during use. Risk of burns!
  • Avoid brewing coffee when the water level is below the minimum level line 4.
  1. Open the water reservoir cover (9).

  2. Open the cover with the spray nozzle (8).

  3. Pour a suitable amount of water into the water reservoir (6), depending on the number of cups of coffee to be made. The number of cups is shown on the water level gauge (6). Never fill higher than the maximum level line 10 on the graduated reservoir (6).

  4. Place a filter in the filter holder (2).

  5. Place the desired amount of ground coffee in the filter.

  6. Open the cover with the spray nozzle (8).

  7. Close the water reservoir cover (9).

  8. Place the glass jug (3) on the hot plate (4).
    N.B. : the coffee maker has an anti-drip system. This stops coffee from dripping from the filter holder (2) if the glass jug (3) is removed briefly while percolation is in progress. Put the jug back in place within 30 seconds, otherwise the coffee may overflow.

  9. Connect the power plug (7) to a compatible power socket.

  10. Switching on the appliance: Press the On/Off button (5) once. The indicator light turns red. The percolation process starts.

  11. Let the appliance operate until the water reservoir (6) is empty.

  12. Once the coffee has been prepared, if you do not want to serve it immediately, keep the switch in the “On” position. The coffee will be kept hot on the hot plate. The appliance will automatically turn off 40 minutes after it was turned on. For the best possible taste, serve coffee immediately after it has been prepared.

  13. Alternatively you can turn off the appliance immediately by pressing the On/Off (5) switch.

  14. The indicator light turns off.
    Warning! When the glass jug (3) is empty, press the On/Off switch (5) to turn off the appliance manually. Never leave an empty jug on the hot plate (4) while the keep hot function is active.

  15. Remove the glass jug (3) from the hot plate (4) to serve the coffee. Pour carefully to avoid spilling hot coffee.
    Warning! When using the glass jug, hold it by the handle only. Risk of burns!

  16. Leave the coffee maker to cool for at least five minutes between two percolation cycles.

  17. When not in use, turn off the coffee maker and remove the plug (7) from the power socket.

Warning!
Before cleaning the appliance, ensure that it has been unplugged from the power socket, then leave it to cool fully.
Warning!
The jug is designed to be used with this appliance only; it must not be used with a high-range appliance. When the jug is full of hot coffee, do not put it down on a damp or cold surface.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Wash the filter holder and the filter in warm water. Leave them to dry fully.

  • Wash the jug in warm water and mild detergent.

  • Rinse thoroughly with fresh water. Leave them to dry fully.
    N.B. : the glass jug may be washed in a dishwasher.

  • Clean using a soft, damp cloth to remove any stains. Leave them to dry fully.
    Warning: Never let water or other liquids get into the appliance. Pay special attention to the vents.

  • Never use strong cleaning products or abrasive products.

  • Keep the appliance in a dry place, protected from humidity and direct sunlight, and out of the reach of children.

Descaling

N.B. : The coffee maker must be descaled regularly. The descaling intervals depend mainly on the hardness of the water and the frequency of use. Use only commercially available descalers and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.

  1. Fill the water reservoir (6) to the maximum level line 10 with water and an appropriate amount of descaler.
  2. Start the percolation process ( 5. USING THE APPLIANCE).
  3. Ensure that the filter (1) (with no ground coffee) and filter holder (2) are correctly in place.
  4. Turn on the appliance and leave the descaling solution to percolate.
  5. Turn off the appliance once one cup of descaling solution has percolated.
  6. Let the solution stand for 15 minutes and then repeat steps 3 and 5.
  7. Turn on the appliance and let it continue its cycle until the solution has fully percolated.
  8. Once the percolation process has finished, remove the full glass jug (3). Hold the glass jug only by the handle. Risk of burns!
  9. Descaling residue may affect the taste of coffee. Let the coffee maker perform two or three percolation cycles with fresh water to eliminate all residue.
  10. Clean the appliance.

GUARANTEES

Guarantees and limitations of liability
Products are guaranteed for a period of 36 months from the date of purchase, or from the date of delivery to the customer’s home. Depending on the country, this guarantee consists of 24 to 36 months of validity for the legal compliance guarantee.
For countries that only implement a 24-month legal compliance guarantee, a 12-month commercial guarantee is applied at the end of the first guarantee, and supplements it.

For the commercial guarantee
Please go to the reception desk at your place of purchase with your proof of purchase (e.g. sales receipt), the product and the accessories it came with, and its original packaging, for all countries other than France. It is important to have the date of purchase, the model and the serial number or IMEI number to hand (this information is usually indicated on the product, packaging, or on your proof of purchase). You’ll need to bring back the product with the accessories needed for its correct functioning (power supply, adapter, etc.). If your claim is covered by the guarantee, the after-sales service may, within the limits of local law, either:

  • Repair or replace faulty parts.
  • Exchange the returned product with a product that has, at the least, the same features and that offers equivalent performances.
  • Refund the product at the price stated on the proof of purchase.

Repaired or replaced products may include new and/or reconditioned hardware and components.

Commercial guarantee exclusions:

  • Damages or problems caused by improper use, accident, tampering/modification or an unsuitable current or voltage connection.

  • Use or storage conditions which are detrimental to the good conservation of the appliance
    (oxidation, corrosion), use of energy, use or installation non-compliant with the manufacturer’s instructions, or negligence or use of peripherals, software or consumables which are unsuitable.

  • Professional or collective, industrial or commercial use of the product.

  • Products that have been modified, or which have damaged, altered, erased or oxidized guarantee seals or serial numbers.

  • Replaceable batteries and accessories are guaranteed for 6 months.

  • Battery failure, caused by overcharging or by failure to follow the safety instructions set out in the manual.

  • Cosmetic damage, including scratches, bumps or vandalism.

  • Damage caused by any servicing operations carried out by non-authorized persons.

  • Faults caused by normal wear and tear or the normal ageing of the product: seals, filters, accessories, vacuum cleaner brush and hose, lamps, overhead projector lamps, washing machine paddles, etc.

  • Software updates as a consequence of changes to network settings.

  • Damage caused by elements external to the appliance (foreign bodies, insects, etc.).

  • The contents of the devices – freezer, washing machine, etc. (food, clothing, etc.)

  • Product failure caused by the use of third-party software to modify, change, adapt or alter the product as is.

  • Product failure resulting from its use without the accessories supplied with the product or approved by the Manufacturer.

  • Parts for normal wear and tear or damage from use: tyre, inner tube, brake, etc.

The customer is responsible for regularly backing up the data contained on their hard disk or in the internal memory of their device, and this before any claim is submitted.
Auchan cannot be held liable for the loss or destruction of stored data, nor may it be held liable for damage caused to software resulting from, in particular, a restoration or a breakdown.

Similarly, Auchan is not required to check that SIM/SD cards have been removed from returned products.
Under no circumstances shall the provisions set out above reduce or eliminate: the legal guarantee referred to above, and the manufacturer’s commercial guarantee, if applicable (see guarantee form).
