Product Information

This product is a luminaire that requires installation and operation in accordance with national safety regulations. It should only be installed and commissioned by a qualified electrician. The manufacturer does not accept liability for damage caused by improper use or installation. Any modifications made to the luminaire must be carried out by the responsible person, who will then be considered the manufacturer. The electronic components in the luminaire are protected against overvoltage as per DIN EN 61547. For additional protection against transients, it is recommended to use separate overvoltage protection components, which can be found on the manufacturer’s website at www.bega.com. The product has a lamp module connected wattage of 9.5 W or 12 W and a luminaire connected wattage of 9.5 W or 12 W. It has a rated temperature of 25°C and an ambient temperature range of 45°C when installed in heat-insulating material. The colour temperature of the LED module is 3000 K, with a colour rendering index (CRI) greater than 90. The module has a luminous flux of 1600 lm, while the luminaire has a luminous flux of 1130 lm. The luminaire has a luminous efficiency of 94.2 lm/W. The power supply units provided with the product are suitable for operating only one LED luminaire. The product may come with accessories, and a separate instructions for use can be provided upon request. Spare parts available for this product include a spare glass, LED module with a colour temperature of 3000 K, and a gasket glass. The corresponding part numbers are 11 003 086 40R G, LED-0328/930, and 83 001 445 respectively.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Ensure that the luminaire is installed and operated in compliance with national safety regulations.
  2. Installation and commissioning should only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
  3. Do not modify the luminaire without proper authorization, as the responsible person will be considered the manufacturer.
  4. Consider using separate overvoltage protection components for additional protection against transients.
  5. Refer to the manufacturer’s website at www.bega.com for recommended overvoltage protection components.
  6. Connect the lamp module with the appropriate wattage (9.5 W or 12 W) to the luminaire.
  7. Ensure that the rated temperature of 25°C and ambient temperature range of 45°C are maintained when installing the luminaire in heat-insulating material.
  8. The LED module has a colour temperature of 3000 K and a colour rendering index (CRI) greater than 90.
  9. The module has a luminous flux of 1600 lm, while the luminaire has a luminous flux of 1130 lm.
  10. The luminaire has a luminous efficiency of 94.2 lm/W.
  11. Use the provided power supply unit for operating a single LED luminaire.
  12. Contact the manufacturer for separate instructions for use if accessories are included.

Application

  • Recessed ceiling luminaire · indoor luminaire with hand-blown opal glass, satin matt and metal housing for connection to external LED power supply unit.

Installation

  • LED are high-quality electronic components!
  • Please avoid touching the light output opening of the LED directly during installation or relamping.
  • A separate power supply unit is required to operate the luminaire.
  • For connection to external LED power supply unit – accessory 13 176 or 13 203– the luminaire is equipped with two 2-pin connectors.
  • Observe the instructions for use for LED power supply units.

Please note

  • The black marked connector is not used to connect to the power supply unit 13 176 on/off.
  • The recessed opening is covered by the frame of the luminaire housing.
  • Fixing of the luminaire in the structure is achieved by using two adjustable wedge-shaped claws.

Installation into concrete ceilings

  • For this purpose installation housing 13 025 is available.

Installation into inserted ceilings

  • A recessed opening of ø 142 mm is necessary to accept the luminaire housing.
  • Recessed depth min. 45 mm.
  • The lateral distance between recessed
  • luminaire and other building parts must be at least 50 mm.
  • The claws catch the ceiling facing from the back side. Minimum thickness of the ceiling facing is 3 mm.
  • If the ceiling facing has a thickness of less than 10 mm or in case of an installation into plasterboard ceilings, the facing thickness in the region of the claws must be increased from the back side. Open luminaire:
  • Remove glass from luminaire housing by turning it counter-clockwise.
  • Connect plug part of the luminaire with power supply unit.
  • Push external LED power supply unit and luminaire housing into the ceiling cut-out.
  • Tighten evenly screws of claw fasteners.
  • Screw glass with gasket into luminaire housing.
  • Make sure that gasket is positioned correctly.

Cleaning · Maintenance

  • Clean luminaire regularly with solvent-free cleansers from dirt.

Replacing the LED module

  • The designation of the LED module is noted on a label in the luminaire.
  • The light colour and light output of BEGA replacement modules correspond to those of the modules originally fitted.
  • The module can be replaced by qualified persons using standard tools.
  • Disconnect the system and open the luminaire.
  • Please follow the installation instructions for the LED module.
  • Inspect and, if necessary, replace the luminaire gaskets.
  • Defective glass must be replaced.
  • Close the luminaire.
