FEATURES

While conventional hobs heat themselves, induction hobs generate heat in the bottom of the pan. When food is heated in a pan, the heat from the pan heats the hob, which only heats up as a result of the above. Electromagnetic induction produces heat only in magnetic materials, such as iron pans. In other materials, such as porcelain, glass or ceramics, the energy field cannot induce a heating effect.

PROPER COOKWARE

Only use cookware that is suitable for induction hobs:

  1. The base of suitable cookware should be steel or cast iron. These can be identified either by the markings on the pan or by making sure that a magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan.
  2. Non-conforming pans are made from non-magnetic metals such as aluminium, copper and stainless steel, as well as non-metallic materials such as porcelain, glass, ceramic, plastic, etc. If you place a non-conforming pan on the hob, “E0” will appear on the display.
  3.  Thin-bottomed pans and bowls are better suited for induction cooking than thick sandwich bases. Rapid changes in performance (e.g. short preheating, rapid and adjustable browning) are not possible when using thick-bottomed pans

Only use a pan of the same size as the hob. This is the only way to ensure that the induction hob works perfectly. The bottom of the pan must not be uneven, but must lie flat.
The diameter should not be less than 12 cm to ensure the induction energy is effective. Do not use pans with a diameter of more than 26  cm.

USE

  • Place the food to be heated in a suitable pan on the hob. If you occasionally lift a pan, for example, off the hob during operation, the message “E0” will be displayed. As soon as you put the pan back on the hob, the last selected mode will be resumed.
  • When the power is switched on, the display will show OFF.
  • Press and hold the button for 2 seconds to switch on the hob, the display will show ON. If no mode is selected, the hob will switch off after 10 seconds (OFF).
  • In ON mode, touch the icon to select HEAT mode with the default power of 1200 W. Use the +/- buttons to increase or decrease this in 10 steps of 200 watts, from 200 W to 2000 W. In HEAT mode, the power of the hob can be selected. In this mode, the hob does not monitor the temperature of the glass ceramic surface.
  • Touching the icon again will switch the appliance to FRY mode at the default temperature of 200 °C. You can use the +/- buttons to increase or decrease this by 20 °C in 10 steps, in a range of 60 °C to 240 °C. In FRY mode, the hob temperature can be selected.
  • ATTENTION! Oil or other fats should only be heated in the FRY, temperature controlled mode, as the temperature setting avoids overheating of the oil or other fats.
  • Touch the icon to toggle between HEAT and FRY modes.
  • The OFF timer can be activated by touching the  icon, the mode is indicated by the TIMER LED. The default time is 30 minutes, which can be changed between 1 minute and 3 hours in minute increments using the +/- buttons. The remaining operating time can be adjusted in 1 minute increments by pressing the +/- button and in 10 minute increments by holding it down. The set time flashes for 5 seconds and then the countdown starts.
  • The display alternates between the remaining time and the set power or temperature. When the time has elapsed, the appliance switches off (OFF). If you press and hold the icon for 2 seconds or change the operating mode, the TIMER switches off.
  • To activate the child lock, press and hold the icon for 2 seconds and the LOCK LED will confirm. The device can then be only switched off by touching the button. The hob cannot be switched on and no mode can be selected in this state. The child lock can be switched off by pressing the icon again for 2 seconds.
  • After use, switch off the hob by touching the  button, and OFF will appear on the display. The fan continues to run and cools the electronics and coils of the hob for about 2 minutes. During this time, do not disconnect the plug from the socket.
