Product Usage Instructions

  1. Read the safety instructions and user manual before using the product.
  2. Keep the product away from children.
  3. Use the device only as specified in the user manual.
  4. Note: Do not use the device on a group of batteries connected in series.

Battery Test:

  1. Press (1) to enter the menu.
  2. Select “BAT TEST” using the up and down buttons.
  3. Press (1) to confirm the selection.
  4. Set the cranking amps value as specified by the battery manufacturer using the up and down buttons.
  5. Change the first four digits accordingly using the left and right buttons.
  6. Select the desired measurement standard.
  7. Confirm the selection and press and hold (1) for 3 seconds to start the measurement.
  8. To repeat the measurement, press and hold (1) for 3 seconds.

Battery Test Display Information:

  • GOOD: The battery is in good condition.
  • WARNING: The battery is old; consider replacing it.
  • REPLACE: The battery is in critical condition; replace it.
  • VOLT TOO HIGH: The battery voltage is too high and affecting the test result.
  • VOLT TOO LOW: The battery voltage is too low and affecting the test result.

Cranking Test:

  1. Select “CRANKING TEST” in the menu and press (1) to confirm.
  2. Turn the ignition on.
  3. The cranking test starts automatically.
  4. The starting voltage and starting time in milliseconds will be displayed on the screen.

Cranking Test Display Information:

  • GOOD: Cranking voltage and speed are good.
  • WARNING: Slow cranking.

Charging Test:

  1. Select “CHARGING TEST” in the menu and press (1) to confirm.
  2. To perform the charging idle voltage test, increase the engine speed to 2500 RPM, turn off all loads, and then press (1).
  3. To perform the charging load voltage test, increase the engine speed to 2500 RPM, turn on all loads, and then press (1).

Charging Test Display Information:

  • HIGH: High charging voltage.
  • NORMAL: Normal charging voltage.
  • LOW: Low charging voltage.

Note!
This device is designed for testing 12V batteries only. Do not use it on a group of batteries connected in series.

Usage

  • Turn the ignition and all the accessories off half an hour before testing the battery. Remove any dirt and grease from the battery terminals.
  • Put the clamps on the battery terminals according to their corresponding polarity: the red clamp goes to the positive (+) terminal, and the black clamp goes to the negative (–) one. The device automatically powers on, and the starting screen is displayed. If “Check clamps” is shown on the screen, check the connection.
  • Press (1) to enter the menu. TEST FUNC SELECT is shown on the screen. Use the ↑ and ↓ buttons to select the mode. Use ← to go back to the starting screen.
  • The display order: BAT TEST -> CRANKING TEST -> CHARGING TEST.

Note! If the connection is poor, the menu cannot be entered.

Battery test

Select BAT TEST in the menu and press (1). Set the cranking amps value as specified by the battery manufacturer using the ← and ENT/→ arrows. Change the first four digits accordingly by pressing the ↑ and ↓ buttons, and then select the desired measurement standard. Confirm the selection and then press and hold (1) for 3 seconds. To repeat the measurement, press and hold (1) for 3 seconds. The last input value will be saved as a default.

Display information

GOOD| The battery is in good condition.
WARNING| The battery is old; consider replacing it.
REPLACE| The battery is in critical condition. Replace the battery.
VOLT TOO HIGH| The battery voltage is too high and it is affecting the test result.
VOLT TOO LOW| The battery voltage is too low and it is affecting the test result.

Note!
When JIS standard input is needed, please refer to the JIS/CCA comparison table to set the CCA value (see Appendix A in English).

Cranking test

Select CRANKING TEST in the menu and press (1). The START ENGINE is shown on the screen. Turn the ignition on. The cranking test starts automatically. The starting voltage and starting time in milliseconds will be displayed on the screen. Press ← to go back to the menu.

Display information

GOOD| Cranking voltage and speed are good
WARNING| Slow cranking

Charging test

Select CHARGING TEST in the menu and press (1) to enter the charging idle voltage test. The screen shows “Increase RPM to 2500. Close all loads. Then, press ENT/→”. Increase the engine speed to 2500RPM (rotation per minute), turn all of the loads off, and then press (1).

Press (1) to enter the charging load voltage test. The screen shows “Increase RPM to 2500. Start all of the loads. Then, press ENT/→”. Increase the engine speed to 2500RPM (rotation per minute), turn all of the loads on, and then press (1). Press ← to go back to the menu.

Care and maintenance

Only use the device within the permitted range. Do not use the device if it is not working properly. Protect the device from sudden impact and excessive mechanical force. Store the device in a dry cool place. Please note that the parameters of the power supply must comply with the technical characteristics of the device. Do not smoke, cause sparks, or strike matches near the battery when testing. Do not come in contact with a leaking battery. If battery acid comes into contact with your skin or clothing, wash it off immediately with soap and water. If acid comes into contact with your eyes, flush immediately with copious cold water for at least ten minutes and get medical attention as soon as possible. Keep away from children.
