Install batteries

Open the battery compartment cover and insert the battery according to the correct polarity marks. Close the cover.

Getting started

To turn on the transmitter, shift the three-position switch (1) to the middle position (ON)
To turn off the transmitter, shift the three-position switch (1) to upper position (OFF).
To turn the transmitter on and have its LED indicators blink slowly, slide the three position switch (1) to the lower position (S).

Wire mapping

This function is used to check if the wires within the cable are connected correctly.
To test a network cable, plug one end of the cable into the RJ45 port (6) on the transmitter and the other end into the RJ45 port (9) on the remote unit.

The results are shown with the corresponding LEDs (8). Possible outcomes are shown below:

Normal : The LEDs on the transmitter and on the remote unit will blink green one by one.

Transmitter: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G
Remote unit: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G

| Short : If pins 2 and 5 are short-circuited, the corresponding LED on the transmitter will glow normally, but the corresponding LEDs on the remote unit will not glow.

Transmitter: 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-G
Remote unit: 1- x -3-4- 5 -6-7-8-G

---|---
Open : If pin 2 is open, the corresponding LEDs on the transmitter and on the remote unit will not glow.

Transmitter: 1-x-3-4-5-6-7-8-G
Remote unit: 1-x-3-4-5-6-7-8-G

If less then two wires are connected, all the LEDs remain off.

Transmitter: х-x-х-х-х-х-х-х-х
Remote unit: х-x-х-х-х-х-х-х-х

| Cross : If pins 2 and 5 are cross-connected, the corresponding LEDs on the transmitter and on the remote unit will blink in the same manner.

Transmitter: 1- 2 -3-4- 5 -6-7-8-G
Remote unit: 1- 5 -3-4- 2 -6-7-8-G

To test a telephone cable, plug one end of the cable into the RJ11 port (7) on the transmitter and the other end into the RJ11 port (10) on the remote unit. Possible outcomes are shown below:

Normal : The LEDs on the transmitter and on the remote unit will blink green one by one (LEDs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 for RJ11 cable test or LEDs 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 for RJ12 cable test).

RJ12:
Transmitter: 1-2-3-4-5-6-x-x-x
Remote unit:1-2-3-4-5-6-x-x-x

| Short : If pins 2 and 5 are short-circuited, the corresponding LED on the transmitter will glow normally, but the corresponding LEDs on the remote unit will not glow.

PoE test

This function is used to identify the pins that provide PoE, and the power supply mode.
Insert one end of the PoE cable into the RJ45 port (6) on the transmitter and the other end into the PoE equipment (such as network switch, router, etc).

If the Midspan indicator (3) glows orange, it means that power is provided by midspan (4, 5 / 7, 8).
If the Endspan indicator (4) glows green, it means is that power is provided by endspan (1, 2 / 3, 6).
If the Midspan indicator (3) glows orange and at the same time the Endspan indicator (4) glows green, it means that the power is provided by both midspan and endspan (1, 2, 3, 6 and 4, 5, 7, 8).

Midspan indicator Endspan indicator Test result
Orange x Midspan (4, 5 / 7, 8)
X Green Endspan (1, 2 / 3, 6)
Orange Green 4 pairs (1, 2, 3, 6 and 4, 5, 7, 8)
