The kit includes: transmitter, remote unit, Micro USB cable, user manual, and warranty.

Charging the device
This device uses a rechargeable Li-ion battery. Connect the power cable to the device and the 5V, 1A DC adapter for charging (not included) via a USB plug and connect it to the AC power supply to charge the battery.

Getting started
Press and hold the AUTO button (3) for 3 seconds to turn the device on/off.
Press the AUTO button (3) to enable/disable the auto-off option option, and then observe the corresponding icon on the screen. When the auto-off option is enabled, the device will automatically turn off in 30 minutes.
Press the flashlight button (1) to turn the flashlight on/off.

Optical power meter
This function is intended to test optical power. The optical power meter function is turned on by default.

  1. Connect one end of the fiber cable end to the fiber optic connector (1) of the optical multimeter; connect the other fiber cable end to the corresponding connector of the external optical light source (external device).

  2. Turn on the external optical light source (external device).

  3. Press the WAVE button (4) to select a wavelength value (850nm, 980nm, 1310nm, 1490nm, 1550nm, or 1625nm). The wavelength value of the optical multimeter and the wavelength value of the light source must be the same.

  4. Press the UNIT button (5) to select the units of measurement.

  5. Press the REF button (2) to display the last saved reference value (the default value is 0dB).

  6. Press the REF button (2) to measure the optical power. The result will be displayed on the screen.

  7. Press and hold the REF button (2) to save the value as a reference value.

Cable continuity test

To switch the cable continuity test function on, press the CONT button (6). Use this button to select the fast mode (0.5s) or slow mode (1s).
To test a network cable, plug one end of the cable into the RJ45 port (4) on the transmitter and the other end into the RJ45 port (6) on the remote unit.

The results are shown with the corresponding LEDs (5). Possible outcomes are shown below:

Care and maintenance

Please note that the parameters of the power supply must comply with the technical characteristics of the device. Do not touch any bare conductor with your hand or skin. Do not try to disassemble the device on your own for any reason. For repairs and cleaning of any kind, please contact your local specialized service center. Only use accessories and spare parts for this device that comply with the technical specifications. Never attempt to operate a damaged device or a device with damaged electrical parts! If a part of the device or battery is swallowed, seek medical attention immediately.

Battery safety instructions

Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery most suitable for the intended use. Always replace the whole set of batteries at one time; taking care not to mix old and new ones, or batteries of different types. Clean the battery contacts and also those of the device prior to battery installation. Make sure the batteries are installed correctly with regard to polarity (+ and –). Remove batteries from equipment that is not to be used for an extended period of time. Remove used batteries promptly. Never short-circuit batteries as this may lead to high temperatures, leakage, or explosion. Never heat batteries in order to revive them. Do not disassemble batteries. Remember to switch off devices after use. Keep batteries out of the reach of children, to avoid risk of ingestion, suffocation, or poisoning. Utilize used batteries as prescribed by your country’s laws.
