VISUAL COMFORT CHC4164 Cynara XL Flush Mount
Product Information
The Cynara XL Flush Mount (Item # CHC4164) is a light fixture that requires assembly before installation. The package includes 10 pieces each of parts F, G, H, I, J, K, and L, and 1 piece each of parts A, B, C, D, E, M, and N. The bulb is not included in the package. The fixture should be installed in accordance with all applicable local installation codes by a person familiar with the construction and operation of it.
Product Usage Instructions
- Carefully remove all parts from the box and place them on a clean, soft surface.
- Unscrew mounting plate (B) from the canopy (D).
- Wrap the fixture ground wire (bare copper) around the green grounding screw on the mounting plate and tighten the screw.
- Attach the mounting plate to the electrical box using screws (not included).
- Connect the fixture wires to the electrical supply wires using wire connectors (not included). Match black to black and white to white.
- Push all wires into the electrical box and attach the canopy to the mounting plate using screws (not included).
- Install decorative parts (E through M) by securing them to the fixture frame as shown in diagram 2. Start from the bottom (layer 1) and work your way to the top (layer 9).
- Install a bulb according to its specifications. Refer to Diagram 1 for guidance.
After installation, inspect the item and contents carefully. If any damage or defect is found, do not use it. Retain all packaging material until installation is complete and approved.
Care Instructions
Clean the Cynara XL Flush Mount only with a soft dry cloth or feather duster. Do not use abrasive or chemical agents.

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS

Carefully remove all parts from the box. Place on a clean, soft surface.

Remove mounting plate (B) from canopy (D) by unscrewing.

Wrap fixture ground wire (bare copper) around the green grounding screw (see diagram 1). Tighten. Continue fixture ground wire and connect to supply ground wire (usually green or bare copper) using wire nut (A).
NOTE: It is imperative that the fixture is grounded. -
Connect fixture neutral wire (white) to the supply neutral wire (usually white) using wire nut (A).

Connect fixture hot wire (black) to the supply hot wire (usually black) using wire nut (A).
CAUTION: Do not reverse the hot and neutral connections. -
Make sure all wire connections are tight, then carefully tuck into the junction box.

Install mounting plate (B) to junction box and secure with mounting screws (C).

Thread canopy (D) to mounting plate (B).

Thread fixture frame to canopy (D).
NOTE: Do not overtighten otherwise fixture frame could become damaged. -
Install light bulb into the socket.

Install bottom frame (N) to fixture frame and secure with screws (O). NOTICE:
This light fixture should be installed in accordance with all applicable, local installation codes, and by a person familiar with the construction and operation of it, as well as the hazards involved. Inspect item and contents carefully. If any damage or defect is found, do not install it. Retain all packaging material until installation is complete and approved. -
Install decorative part (E through M) by securing to the fixture frame as shown in diagram 2.
Note: Start from bottom (layer 1) and work your to the top (layer 9).
