VISUAL COMFORT KW 5640 Brassica Mini Pendant

Product Information

The Brassica Mini Pendant is a light fixture designed to be mounted on the ceiling. It comes with two assembly options – canopy-mounted driver and ceiling mounted driver. The package includes all parts required for assembly, but tools such as Phillips screwdriver, slotted screwdriver, wire strippers, and wire cutters are not included. The fixture should be installed in accordance with all applicable local installation codes by a person familiar with the construction and operation of it, as well as the hazards involved. The user manual also provides care instructions for the fixture.

Product Usage Instructions – Canopy Mounted Driver

  1. Carefully remove all parts from the box. Place on a clean, soft surface.
  2. Remove mounting plate (A) from canopy (G) by removing collar ring (H).
  3. Install mounting plate (A) to the junction box and secure it with mounting screws (D).
  4. Feed the electrical wire through the bottom rod (J) and connect it to the fixture (K).
  5. Continue feeding the wire through the collar ring (H), canopy (G), and top rod (I).
  6. Holding fixture upright, slide collar ring (H) and canopy (G), down and connect to mounting plate (A) and secure with collar ring (H).
  7. Connect driver (C) input neutral wire (white) to the supply neutral wire (usually white) using wire nut (B).
  8. Connect driver (C) input hot wire (black) to the supply hot wire (usually black) using wire nut (B). CAUTION: Do not reverse the hot and neutral connections.
  9. Connect fixture neutral wire (black) to driver (C) output wire (black) using wire nut (B).
  10. Connect fixture hot wire (red) to driver (C) output wire (red) using wire nut (B). CAUTION: Do not reverse the hot and neutral connections.
  11. Make sure all wire connections are tight, then carefully tuck them into the junction box.
  12. Insert driver (C) into the mounting plate bracket.
  13. Install canopy (G) to mounting plate (A) and secure with collar ring (H).

Product Usage Instructions – Ceiling Mounted Driver

  1. Carefully remove all parts from the box. Place on a clean, soft surface.
  2. Follow steps 3 to 11 as mentioned in the Canopy Mounted Driver instructions.
  3. Attach the driver (C) to the fixture (K) using screws (E).
  4. Mount the fixture (K) to the ceiling using screws (F).

Care Instructions

The Brassica Mini Pendant should be cleaned only with a soft dry cloth or feather duster. Do not use abrasive or chemical agents.

Option 1: Canopy Mounted Driver

NOTICE

This light fixture should be installed in accordance with all applicable, local installation codes, and by a person familiar with the construction and operation of it, as well as the hazards involved. Inspect items and contents carefully. If any damage or defect is found, do not install it. Retain all packaging material until installation is complete and approved.

TOOLS REQUIRED (NOT INCLUDED)

  • Phillips Screwdriver
  • Slotted Screwdriver
  • Wire Cutters
  • Wire Strippers
  1. Carefully remove all parts from the box. Place on a clean, soft surface.

  2. Remove mounting plate (A) from canopy (G) by removing collar ring (H).

  3. Install mounting plate (A) to the junction box and secure it with mounting screws (D).

  4. Feed the electrical wire through the bottom rod (J) and connect to the fixture (K).

  5. Continue feeding the wire through the collar ring (H), canopy (G), and top rod (I).

  6. Holding fixture upright, slide collar ring (H) and canopy (G), down and rest on bottom rod (J). Then connect the top rod (I) to the bottom rod (J).
    NOTE: Slide components down slowly to avoid damage.

  7. Hang fixture swivel ball (F) to the center of mounting plate (A) and secure with set screw (E) using a provided wrench. See diagram 1.

  8. Cut excess wires, being sure to leave enough to reach the junction box. Separate wires, and strip insulation on each 5/8″.

  9. Connect supply ground wire (usually green or bare copper) around the green grounding screw (see diagram 2). Tighten.

  10. Connect driver (C) input neutral wire (white) to the supply neutral wire (usually white) using wire nut (B).

  11. Connect driver (C) input hot wire (black) to the supply hot wire (usually black) using wire nut (B).
    CAUTION: Do not reverse the hot and neutral connections.

  12. Connect fixture neutral wire (black) to driver (C) output wire (black) using wire nut (B).

  13. Connect fixture hot wire (red) to driver (C) output wire (red) using wire nut (B).
    CAUTION: Do not reverse the hot and neutral connections.

  14. Make sure all wire connections are tight, then carefully tuck them into the junction box.

  15. Insert driver (C) into the mounting plate bracket.

  16. Install canopy (G) to mounting plate (A) and secure with collar ring (H).

Option 2: Ceiling Mounted Driver

  2. Place driver (C) into the ceiling and route all wires through one of the knockouts in the junction box.

  3. Remove mounting plate (A) from canopy (G) by removing collar ring (H).

  4. Install mounting plate (A) to the junction box and secure it with mounting screws (D).

  5. Feed the electrical wire through the bottom rod (J) and connect it to the fixture (K).

  6. Continue feeding the wire through the collar ring (H), canopy (G), and top rod (I).

  7. Holding fixture upright, slide collar ring (H) and canopy (G), down and rest on bottom rod (J). Then connect the top rod (I) to the bottom rod (J).
