SSP-6000W-XX UDS Sidescan Predict
Product Information: Sensor Configuration Tool – SSP-1000SCT (6162)
The Sensor Configuration Tool – SSP-1000SCT (6162) is a programming tool used to program sensors. This tool is an essential component of the product and is required to ensure successful configuration of the sensors.
The programming of the sensors can be completed at any point, but it must be finished before the Sensor Walkthrough test is run in the Configuration Software. The sensors must be programmed in the correct sequence to ensure successful configuration.
Product Usage Instructions:
- Connect the Sensor Configuration Tool – SSP-1000SCT (6162) to your computer.
- Launch the Configuration Software and select the Sensor Walkthrough test.
- Before running the Sensor Walkthrough test, ensure that all sensors are programmed using the Sensor Configuration Tool – SSP-1000SCT (6162).
- Program the sensors in the correct sequence to ensure successful configuration.
- Once all sensors are programmed, run the Sensor Walkthrough test in the Configuration Software.

Different Sensor Types/Colours
Within the Sidescan® Predict 6 sensor Kit there are 4 white sensors: SSP-HSSW-
KT (6147) and 2 black sensors: SSP-HSSB-KT (6148). There is a rule on how
these need to be installed: Starting from the front of the vehicle, sensors 1
& 2 have to be white, 3 & 4 are black and 5 & 6 are also white. This order has
to be adhered to for the system to work correctly, due to the different sensor
frequencies.
Sensor Programming
The programming of the sensors, using the Sensor Configuration Tool: SSP-
1000SCT (6162), can be completed at any point, but must be finished before the
Sensor Walkthrough test is run in the Configuration Software. The sensors must
be programmed in the correct sequence (as referenced above) to ensure
successful configuration.
Trigger Output (Labelled ‘Indicator‘ on the Algorithm ECU output harness)
If a nearside warning speaker (Backchat® alarm) is to be connected to the
trigger output wire, a standard automotive 12V or 24V relay has to be fitted.
The Algorithm ECU output triggers are switched ground.
