SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Warning: Read the manual carefully before use. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in tool damage, physical injury and/or damage to property. Save the manual in a safe place for future reference.
General safety rules

• Keep children and non-essential persons away from the work area. Do not allow children to handle the tool.
• Do not wear watches, rings bracelets or loose clothing when using the tool.
• Maintain the tool in good condition and replace any damaged or worn parts. Use genuine parts only. Non-authorized parts may be dangerous.
• Warning: Ensure that the air pressure is at an appropriate level and doesn’t exceed recommended levels. 90 psi is recommended.
• Keep the air hose away from heat, oil and sharp edges. Check air hose for wear before each use and ensure that all connections are secure.
• Wear approved safety glasses, ear protegif8hand hand protection.
• Warning: Due to the possible prese s dust from brake linings, when working around vehicle brake systems we recommend you wear suitable respiratory protection.
• Maintain correct balance and f of slippery and wear non-slip shoes.
• DO NOT use the tool for a task it is not designed to perform.
• DO NOT use the tool if it is damaged in any way or is functioning abnormally.
• DO NOT carry the tool by the air hose.
• DO   NOT direct air from the air hose at yourself or others.
• When not in use disconnect the tool from the air supply and store in a safe , dry place that is inaccessible to children.
• Only qualified and trained operators should install, adjust or use the tool.
• Do not modify the tool in any way.

Projectile hazard

• While using the tool, there is a risk of materials being ejected at high velocity.
• Always wear impact-resistant eye protection while operating the tool.
• Ensure that the workpiece is securely fixed.

Entanglement hazard

• Loose clothing and apparel such as jewellery, necklaces and gloves can get entangled in moving parts, causing serious injury.
• Long hair must be tied back to prevent them from getting caught in moving parts.
• Keep hands away from moving parts.

Operating hazards

• Hold the tool correctly and always be prepared to counteract sudden movements and have both hands available.
• Use only lubricants recommended by the manufacturer.
• Do not use the tool in confined spaces.
• Disconnect the tool from the energy supply before changing the inserted tool or accessory.
• Do not touch sockets or accessories during operation as this increases the risk of cuts, bums or sustaining vibration injuries.
• Use only sizes and types of accessories that are recommended by the tool’s manufacturer.
• Do not use sockets or accessories if they not in good condition as they can shatter and eject at high velocity.

Repetitive motion hazard

• While using the tool, the operator may experience discomfort in the hands, arms, shoulders, neck or other parts of the body.
• The operator should adopt a comfortable posture while using the tool.
• If the operator experiences symptoms such as persistent or recurring discomfort, pain, tingling, numbness, burning sensations or stiffness, these warnings signs should not be ignored. The operator should inform the employer and consult a qualified health professional.

Workplace hazard

• Slips, trips and falls are causes of workplace injury. Be aware of slippery surfaces and also of trip hazards caused by the air line or hydraulic hose.
• Proceed with care in unfamiliar surroundings. Serious injury may result if the tool comes into contact with hidden electrical cables or gas pipes.
•  Do not use the tool in explosive atmospheres.
• Keep the tool at a safe distance from fire or other sources of heat.

Dust and fume hazard

• Dust and fumes generated when using the tool can be harmful to health.
• Direct the exhaust o as to minimize disturbance of dust in a dust-filed environment.
• The operator should make use of appropriate accessories to collect dust and extract fumes.
• Use respiratory protection to protect yourself from dust and fumes.

Noise hazard

• Unprotected exposure to high noise levels can cause permanent hearing loss and other problems, such as tinnitus.
• Wear hearing protection while operating the tool.
• If the tool can be fitted with a silencer, ensure that it is in good condition and installed correctly.
• Operate and maintain the tool as recommended to prevent an unnecessary increase in noise levels.
• Exposure to vibration can cause damage to the nerves and blood supply of the hands and arms.
• Keep the hands away from intensely vibrating parts.
• Wear warm clothing when working in cold conditions and keep you hands warm and dry.
• If you experience numbness, tingling, pain or whitening of the skin in your fingers or hands, stop using the tool, inform your employer and consult a physician.
• Operate and maintain the tool as recommended  to prevent an unnecessary increase in vibration levels.
• Do not use worn o ill-fitting sockets or extensions, as this likely to cause a substantial increase in vibration levels.
• Support the weight of the tool in a stand, tensioner or balancer, if possible.
• Do not hold the tool too tightly to minimize the adverse health effect of vibration .

Additional safety instructions for pneumatic tools

• Air under pressure can cause severe injury. Always shut off the air supply, drain the hose of air pressure and disconnect the tool from the air supply when not in use, before changing accessories or when performing maintenance  or repair work.
• Never direct air at yourself or anyone else.
• Always check for damaged or loose hoses and fittings.
• Cold air must be directed away from the hands.
• Do not exceed the maximum air pressure stated on the tool.
• Never carry the tool by the hose.

AIRSUPPLY (FIG. 1)

• You will require an air pressure of 90 psi, and an air flow according to specification. v
• Warning: Ensure the air supply is clean and does not exceed 90 psi while operating the tool. Too high an air pressure and unclean air will shorten the product life due to excessive wear, and may be dangerous, causing damage to property or personal injury.
• Drain the air tank daily. Water in the air line will damage the tool.
• Clean the air inlet filter weekly.
• Line pressure should be increased to compensate for unusually long air hoses (over 8 meters). The hose diameter should be 3/8” LD (intimal diameter).
• Keep the hose away from sources of heat, oil and sharp edges. Check the hose for signs of wear and damage and make sure that all connections are secure.

Lubrication

• The use of an automatic falter-regulator-lubricator is recommended as it lengthens tool life and keeps the tool in sustained operation. The lubricator should be regularly checked and filled with air tool oil.
• Proper adjustment of the lubricator is performed by placing a sheet of paper next to the exhaust ports and holding the throttle open for approximately 30 seconds. The lubricator is properly set when a light stain of oil collects on the paper. Excessive amounts of oil should be avoided.
•  It is most important that the tool be properly lubricated by keeping the lubricator filled and correctly adjusted. Without proper lubrication the tool will not work properly and parts will wear prematurely.
• Use the proper lubricant in the air line lubricator. The lubricator should be of low air flow or changing air flow type, and should be kept filled to the correct level. Use only recommended lubricants, specially made for pneumatic applications. Substitutes may harm the rubber compounds in the tool’s O-rings and other rubber parts.
• If a filter/regulator/lubricator is not installed on the air system, the tool should be lubricated at least once a day or after 2 hours of work with 2 to 6 drops of oil, depending on the work environment, directly through the male fitting in the tool housing.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

Loading and operation

1. Only use sockets which are specifically designed for use with the tool.
2.  Connect the tool to the air hose.
3. Place the socket over a nut and press the trigger to operate the tool.
4. To change the direction of rotation, press the button on the top of the handle. The “F” indicates clockwise rotation and the “R” indicates counterclockwise rotation.
   • The flow of air may be regulated by adjusting the flow valve at the base of the handle.
   • Ensure the air supply is clean and does not existed 90 psi while operating the tool. Too high an air pressure and unclean air will shorten the product life due to excessive wear, and may be dangerous causing damage to property or personal injury. • Keep children away from the tool and from the workplace.
   • DO NOT apply additional or excessive force to the tool in order to remove a nut.
   • DO NOT allow the tool to run continuously for an extended period of time as this will shorten its life.

MAINTENANCE

• The tool must be inspected periodically and worn or broken parts must be replaced in order to keep the unit operating safely and efficiently.
• Disconnect the tool from the air supply before changing accessories, servicing, or performing maintenance.
• Only use the tool after replacing or repairing the damaged parts or accessories.
• Use only genuine replacement parts and accessories that are compatible and suitable for use with the tool.
• Repairs must be performed by a qualified service technician.
• Lubricate the tool daily with a few drops of air tool oil dripped into the air inlet.
• Loss of power or problematic operation may be due to the following:
  • Excessive drain on the air line.
  • Moisture or blockage in the air pipe.
  • Dirt accumulation on parts of the tool may also reduce performance.
• If the tool has an air strainer (located in the area of the air inlet), remove the air strainer and clean it.
• When not in use, disconnect the tool from the air supply, clean the tool and store it in a safe and dry place that is inaccessible to children.

TROUBLESHOOTING

• If any of the following problems appear while the tool is in use, turn it off and disconnect t from the air supply immediately. Failure to heed this warning will result in serious personal injury.
• Disconnect the tool from the air supply before making any adjustments.

The tool runs at normal speed but loses
speed under load| 1. Motor parts are worn.
2. The clutch is worn or sticking due to lack of lubricant.| 1. Lubricate the clutch housing.
2. Check for excess clutch oil. Clutch cases need only be half full. Overfilling can cause drag on high speed clutch parts.
Grease lubrication: Heat usually indicates insufficient grease in chamber.
The tool runs slowly. Air flows slightly from
exhaust| 1. Motor parts jammed with dirt particles.
2. Power regulator is in the closed position.
3.Dirt is blocking the air flow.| 1. Check air inlet filter for blockage.
2. Pour air tool lubricating oil into air inlet as per instructions.
3. Repeat above as needed.
The tool does not work. Air flows normally
from exhaust| 1. One or more motor vanes stuck due to material build up.| 1. Pour air tool lubricating oil into air inlet.
2. Tap motor housing gently with plastic mallet.
The tool will not shut off| 1. 0-rings in the throttle valve are dislodged from the seat inlet valve.| 1. Replace 0-rings or send the tool to a service center for repairs.
