SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Please read the following safety instructions carefully.
- Since the appliance is designed exclusively for outdoor use, it is not permitted to use the unit indoors.
- Only connect the grill to a properly installed safety socket. This must be operated via a residual current protective system (RCD) whose tripping current does not exceed 30 mA.
- The device may only be operated with the mains voltage specified on the type plate.
- Check the connecting cable and the control box for damage at regular intervals. If you notice any damage, the device shall not be put into operation under any circumstances. In this case, please contact costumer service.
- For safety reasons, it is not permitted to apply liquids to the control box (with the built-in heater and its mains lead) or to immerse it in liquids. The device has the protection degree “IPX4” and is therefore protected against splashing water.
- Do not under any circumstances operate the appliance with charcoal or other fuels.
- Never cover the grillage or other parts of the grill with aluminum foil, plates, pans or other objects. Covering the grill surface can lead to heat accumulation, which can lead to overheating or the destruction of the appliance.
- Never operate the appliance without filling up the water bowl with water. For further information, please refer to the “Before putting into operation” section.
- Children must be kept away from the grill and the connection cable. They are unable to assess the dangers correctly. Even if you have instructed your children on the use of the grill and the dangers associated with it, do not leave them unattended.
- Never allow your children to play unattended near the appliance.
- Packaging material should also be kept away from children, as there is a danger of suffocation.
- Persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience are to be supervised in handling the device, unless they have been instructed and understood in the use and the associated dangers.
- Allow the unit to cool down for at least 30 minutes after usage before cleaning or disassembly.

ASSEMBLY OF THE GRILL UNIT
You do not need any tools or other equipment to assemble the grill. We have designed the appliance to be so user-friendly that you can set up and operate the grill in just a few simple steps. The same applies of course to the dismantling of the appliance to save space when stowing it away. Follow the instructions below. During assembly, check that the grill and all enclosed materials are intact. If you discover any defects or damage, which may have been caused by inappropriate transport, for example, do not operate the appliance under any circumstances. In this case, please contact customer service. First, remove all packaging material from all parts belonging to the grill. Clean the grill pan, grate, water bowl and water bowl insert with hot detergent and dry thoroughly before using for the first time.
Step 1: Install the windscreen
First insert the straps located at the ends of the windbreak (see figure 1) into the elongated holes of the grill pan. Now hook the central lug of the windbreak also into the slot provided for this purpose (see figure 2). The windbreak is now installed.
Step 2: Insert the water bowl
Place the water bowl in the middle of the grill pan (see figure 3). The feet of the water bowl should now stand on the screw connection of the grill pan. The water bowl is inserted correctly if it is not loose and has the same distance to the grill tray.
Step 3: Install water bowl insert
The water bowl insert has the shape of a roof. Place it in the middle of the water bowl. If it is installed correctly, the feet of the insert will be in the deepened part of the water bowl (see figure 4).
Step 4: Filling the water bowl
The water bowl must be filled with water before operation. Observe the specifications in the water bowl for the minimum and maximum filling level (see figure 5).
Step 5: Insert control box with heating element and power plug
Now insert the control box with the heating element and power plug correctly into the grill pan. You will see a square cut-out on the grill tray where the control box can be placed. MHold the control box over this cutout as shown in figure 6 and slowly lower it until the control box is in place. For a secure fit and easy positioning, the control box has recesses on the sides that perfectly fit into the grill pan (see figure 7). At the same time, the safety switch is also activated. The appliance can only be operated if the control box is located in the intended place. If the control box has been inserted correctly, the strut connecting the two heating elements is centered on the elevation in the water bowl (see figure 8).
Step 6: Install the grillage
If you hold the grillage in your hand, turn it so that the angled ends point downwards (see figure 9). Now place the grillage on the grill. There are four holes on the top edge of the grill tray in which the angled ends of the grillage will fit. When you have placed the grillage correctly, all four ends of the grill sit in the provided holes (see figure 10). If you have carried out all the steps carefully, according to the instructions, your device should correspond to figure 11. Your unit is now fully assembled. If the optional pedestal is also included in your scope of delivery, assemble it according to the assembl
Step 7: Assembling the pedestal
First take the cross element in your hand. Hold it correctly when the cover side of the centerpiece is closed. (There are also studs on the underside). Otherwise, turn the part over. Now push the short tubes onto the upper ends of the cross element. Now also push the long tubes onto the lower ends of the cross element. The stand should now be narrower towards the top. Once you have assembled everything correctly, press a pipe end cap onto all open tube ends (see figure 12). Now you can place your grill on the pedestal. The feet of the grill pan are to be placed on the short pieces of pipe. To do this, carefully lower the grill from above. Make sure that all tube ends are located in the feet of the grill tray (see figure 13).
BEFORE PUTTING IT INTO OPERATION
Now that you have set up your device according to the instructions, there are
only a few steps left before you can put your new device into operation for
the first time.
Installation and placement of the grill unit
When used with the pedestal
Make sure that the stand of your device is on a sufficiently large, even, firm
surface. The unit should be installed so that there are no easily inflammable
objects in the immediate vicinity of the unit. Make sure that there are no
objects less than 1.5 meters above the unit. The radiant heat can also heat
objects over a distance.
When used without a pedestal
Make sure that your device is placed on an even, solid, flame-resistant
surface. The unit should be installed so that there are no easily inflammable
objects in the immediate vicinity of the unit. Do not place the unit in a
corner or directly against a wall. Make sure that there are no objects less
than 1.5 meters above the device. The radiant heat can also heat objects over
a distance.
Filling with water
CAUTION
Fire hazard! Follow the instructions below to fill the grill with water,
otherwise, grease can ignite and there is an increased risk of fire.
- Before you plug in the power plug, first fill the water bowl with water. There is a mark in the bowl indicating “Min” and “Max”. “Min” should never be undercut during filling. The water bowl prevents dripping fat or marinade from igniting. In addition, the fi lled water contributes to cooling and easier cleaning of the appliance.
Note: There must always be between one and two liters of water in the bowl.
- Dripping fat or marinade in the area of the “water bowl insert” runs off into the water bowl. There may be slight inflammation due to grease in this area. In this case, remove the items on the grill briefly from the affected area. An additional extinguishing is not necessary.
Note: Never extinguish burning fat with water or similar liquids.
The water bowl must be filled with water before operation. Observe the specifications in the water bowl for the minimum and maximum filling level (see figure 14). The minimum filling level must not be exceeded.
Correct insertion of the heating element with the control box
Make sure that the heating element with the control box is correctly placed in
the intended position in the appliance.
The strut, between the two heaters, should rest on the intended position in
the water bowl. The control box has a circuit breaker so that the appliance
can only be operated when the heating element with the control box is in the
correct position.
Power supply
Now plug the power plug into an earthed socket provided for this purpose. The
connecting cable must not come into contact with hot parts of the grill. The
appliance is now ready to be put into operation.
Disconnect the power plug:
- after each use
- before each cleaning
- before each filling with water
- in case of malfunctions during operation.
Note: When using a cable drum, there is a loss of power. Only use cable drums that are also suitable for outdoor use. Unwind the cable completely from the cable drum, as otherwise the cable drum may heat up excessively.
GETTING STARTED
Your grill is now set up according to the instructions, cleaned and freed from
packaging material. It has been safely placed and filled with sufficient
water. The power plug is connected to an earthed socket.
You can now start grilling!
- The appliance must be heated up!
- To do this, switch on the basic heating and the additional heating by flipping both switches on the control box.
- The unit should now preheat for 10 minutes to reach the desired operating state.
Now you can depending upon need, switch off the auxiliary heating if you
should not need this for your grill intention.
The grill is divided into 3 zones.
At the edge you have the lowest heat output, there you can place sensitive
grill food that should not be exposed to strong heat. When operating with the
basic heating, you have enough space on the remaining surface to place your
barbecue food. This is completely sufficient for normal grill food such as
sausages. In operation with the basic heating and the additional heating, you
have a hotspot in the middle with a very high heat output, on which you can
prepare steaks, for example.
CAUTION:
Risk of burns! The grillage becomes very hot during operation. Do not take it
down or touch it during operation. The same applies to the heaters on the
control box and to the entire interior.
- Allow the grill to cool down for 20 minutes after completing your grill routine before moving, storing or cleaning the grill.
- Never move the grill during use!
- Never leave the grill unattended during operation!
- Always place your food directly on the grill. Do not use aluminum trays or foil between the grill food and the heating element, as this can lead to heat accumulation.
STORAGE, CLEANING AND CARE
Storage
- Make sure that you do not store the grill outdoors or in open places where it is exposed to the weather. Weather conditions may damage the appliance. Always store the control box with the heating element and the power plug inside.
- Do not disassemble the device any further than you received it when it was delivered. Otherwise we can no longer guarantee safe operation and your warranty claim will be deemed void.
- Repairs to electrical appliances may only be carried out by specialists who are familiar with the safety regulations.
Cleaning and care
- You should clean the grill before using it for the first time and after each use.
- After the required cooling down time (after the grilling process), remove the control box with the heating element and the power plug. The remaining parts can now be cleaned with warm water and detergent. The grate as well as the water bowl and the water bowl insert are dishwasher safe.
- Check the appliance for external damage at frequent intervals. If you notice anything that does not correspond to the delivery condition, do not put the unit into operation. In this case please contact costumer service.
- Cleaning and care must not be carried out by children!
