SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Warning: Read the manual carefully before use. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in tool damage, physical injury and/or damage to property. Save the manual in a safe place for future reference.

  • Do not direct the outlet of the tool towards yourself or others. Coating materials and compressed air may cause injuries.
  • Installation, adjustments and assembly of the tool must only be carried out by qualified and trained personnel.
  • Do not modify the tool in any way. Modifications may impair the efficiency of the tool and render it unsafe for use.
  • Do not use the tool if it is damaged.
  • The tool is designed to work with compressed air only. Do not use any other gas to power the tool as this can cause fires or explosions.
  • While connecting the tool to a compressed air system, make sure to consider the space which is required for the hose in order to avoid damage to the hose or to the connectors.
  • The working area must be equipped with an efficient ventilation system. Absence of an efficient ventilation system may pose a hazard or cause fires or explosions.
  • The tool must not under any circumstances be used in explosive atmospheres.
  • The tool must be operated at a safe distance from fire and other sources of heat.
  • Wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, masks and gloves.
  • During operation of the tool and while carrying out maintenance tasks there is a risk of ingestion of particles of sprayed materials or substances used for maintenance due to the following causes:
    • Insufficient ventilation.
    • Incorrect spraying pressure.
    • Insufficient optimisation of spraying parameters in order to reduce contamination.
    • Incorrect distance between the nozzle of the tool and the area of application of the sprayed material. The distance must be adequately adjusted in accordance with the kind of sprayed substance.
    • Ingestion of solvent vapours or other harmful substances.
    • Use of incorrect sprayed substance.
  • Never leave the tool unattended by a person authorised to operate it.
  • Do not allow children near the tool.
  • Compressed air under high pressure may cause the tool to recoil in an opposite direction to the direction of ejection of the sprayed material. Take special precautions to minimize the risk of injury due to recoil.
  • Before operating the tool, make sure to test it first to ensure that it works properly.
  • Ensure that all persons operating the tool are familiar with the instructions contained in this manual.
  • Observe the instructions and recommendations specified by the manufacturer of the sprayed materials in order to reduce the risk of injury.
  • Since there is a possibility of accumulation of electrostatic charges, it is necessary to carry out measurements in order to determine whether it is required to ground the tool or to use surfaces and/or compressed air systems which dissipate electric charges. Measurements and assembly of such systems must be carried out by properly qualified personnel.
