Product Cleaning and Maintenance
To ensure your product lasts a long time and works optimally, please read the following instructions carefully for cleaning and maintenance. Non-stick coatings are durable, but they can show signs of wear if not used and cared for properly. Scratches, abrasive cleaners, aggressive descaling liquids, and storing the device with a closed, damp lid can all cause wear on the coating.
Cleaning
- To clean the coated part, simply rub it with kitchen paper or a towel. A thin layer of fat or cooking oil is good for the coating.
Cooking Chamber
- To prevent stains from appearing on the surface, store the device with its lid open.
Product Accessories
Cleaning accessories with abrasive cleaners can damage the non-stick coating over time. If cleaning in the dishwasher, make sure the detergent is not abrasive and has a low salt concentration. Always open the dishwasher door for ventilation and drying at the end of the cycle.
Descaling
- Aggressive descaling liquids can damage your appliance and not dissolve the limescale properly.
Coating Maintenance
- Avoid scratches and store the device with a closed, damp lid to maintain the non-stick coating.

Important instructions for cleaning and maintaining your product
To ensure your product lasts a long time and works optimally, please read the following instructions carefully for cleaning and maintenance. Non-stick coatings are durable, but they can show signs of wear if not used and cared for properly. Scratches, abrasive cleaners, aggressive descaling liquids, and storing the device with a closed, damp lid can all cause wear on the coating.
Cleaning
- To clean the coated part, simply rub it with kitchen paper or a towel. A thin layer of fat or cooking oil is good for the coating.
Cooking Chamber
- Clean the cooking chamber with hot water and a non-abrasive sponge. If needed, use dishwashing liquid.
- Before storing the device with its lid closed, make sure the cooking chamber is completely dry. Otherwise, stains may appear on the surface. Alternatively, store the device with its lid open.
Accessories
- Gently rinse the accessories by hand.
- All cooking accessories are dishwasher-safe. However, cleaning in the dishwasher can damage the non-stick coating over time. If cleaning in the dishwasher, make sure the detergent is not abrasive and has a low salt concentration.
- Always open the dishwasher door for ventilation and drying at the end of the cycle.
Descaling
- Wipe off the chamber after each use with a wet towel to minimize the buildup of limescale.
- For descaling, always use the Philips Espresso machine descaler CA6700. If this is not available in your region, citrus acid is a good alternative.
- Do not use descaling liquids based on sulfuric acid, hydrochloric acid, sulfamic or acetic acid (vinegar) as they may damage your appliance and not dissolve the limescale properly.
Coating maintenance
If you have carefully cleaned or descaled the coated cooking chamber and accessories, it is beneficial to apply a thin layer of fat or cooking oil. Use a few drops of neutral and heat-resistant vegetable oil, such as refined sunflower oil or refined rapeseed oil, and evenly spread it over the whole coated surface using a kitchen paper towel or other dry cloth.
