SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

Warning : Read the manual carefully before operating the sprayer. Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in damage to the sprayer, physical injury and/or damage to property. Store the manual in a safe place for future reference.
Operator responsibility

  • Be sure that anyone who operates the sprayer receives proper instruction.
  • Do not let children operate the unit without supervision.
  • Do not refuel the tank with pure gasoline (always use a mix of two-stroke engine oil and gasoline).
  • Do not allow persons under the influence of alcohol or other substances to use the equipment.
  • Keep children and pets away from the sprayer when it is in operation.

Carbon monoxide hazard

  • Exhaust gas contains poisonous carbon monoxide, a colourless and odourless gas, breathing the exhaust gas can cause loss of consciousness and may lead to death.
  • If you run the unit in areas that are confined, or even partially enclosed, the air you breathe could contain a dangerous amount of exhaust gas.

Fire and burn hazard

  • The exhaust system can ignite some materials.
    • Keep flammable materials away from the engine.
  • The exhaust muffler becomes very hot while the engine is running and remains hot for a while after stopping the engine. Be careful not to touch the exhaust muffler while it is hot. Let the engine cool before storing the engine indoors.
  • Gasoline is extremely flammable and explosive under certain conditions. Do not smoke or allow flames or sparks where the engine is refuelled or where gasoline is stored. Refuel in a well-ventilated area with the engine stopped.
  • Fuel vapours are extremely flammable and may ignite after the engine has started. Make sure that any spilled fuel has been wiped up before starting the engine.
  • Store fuel in containers specifically designed for this purpose.
  • Never remove the fuel tank cap or refuel while the engine is running.
  • Never store the equipment with gasoline in the tank inside a building where fumes can ignite a fire.
  • Make sure that the fuel tank cap is securely tightened in place before starting the engine.

Rotating parts hazard
Keep away from rotating parts. Be careful not to touch any part of the unit while it is running.

PREPARATION

Selecting, mixing and adding the appropriate fuel
Warning : Make sure the engine is stopped and cool before adding fuel.

  • Use a mixture of gasoline and 2-stroke engine oil. Do not use other types of oil.
  • Add 30ml of oil for every litre of gasoline.
  • Never use oil or gasoline that is dirty or otherwise contaminated.

STARTING THE ENGINE

Important : Before starting the engine, make sure to fill the chemical tank with clean water or chemical fluid. Do not start the engine if the chemical tank is empty.

  1. Press the primer bulb until the fuel line is filled with fuel.

  2. Close the choke lever.
Note : If the air temperature is high or the engine is warm, the choke lever can be set to the middle position or opened fully.

  3. Set the throttle lever to the middle position.

  4. Slowly pull the recoil starter 2-3 times.

  5. Open the choke and briskly pull the recoil starter to start the engine.
Note : If the engine doesn’t start once the recoil starter is pulled, open the choke fully and repeat the above steps.
Caution : Be careful not to pull the recoil starter rope too far out.

  6. Once the engine starts, set the throttle lever to the low speed position and let the sprayer warm up for 2-3 minutes.

OPERATION

  1. Set the valve pressure lever to a position that is appropriate for the task at hand.
  2. Set the throttle lever to the high speed position.
    • After 100 hours of operation, check the oil level in the pump. If the oil level is lower than 1/3, remove the oil filler cap and add oil until the level reaches 2/3.
    • Check the fuel level regularly. Refuel the tank once the fuel level is low.

STOPPING THE ENGINE

Pausing operation temporarily

  1. Turn off the spray gun and set the throttle lever to the low speed position.
  2. Press the engine switch to stop the engine.
  3. Once the engine has stopped, turn off the fuel cock.

Stopping the engine after completing a task

  1. Empty the chemical tank.
  2. Fill the chemical tank with the clean water.
  3. Start the engine and spray clean water in order to clean the inside of the pump and of the hose.
  4. Run the engine at almost maximum speed for 15-20 seconds and spray the water.
  5. Once water has stopped coming out of the nozzle, stop the engine.

MAINTENANCE – STORAGE

If the machine is not going to be used for a long time, take the following steps before storing it:

  1. Drain the fuel from fuel tank and from the carburetor.
  2. Take out the spark plug and apply a small amount of oil to the inside of the cylinder.
  3. Slowly pull the recoil starter 2-3 times to ensure that the cylinder is completely filled with oil.
  4. Slowly pull the recoil starter and stop once you feel resistance.
  5. Clean the external parts of the machine with a cloth and store the unit in a dry and cool place.
