PHILIPS Sami the Seal Compressor Nebulizer System
How to use your Sami nebulizer compressor
A nebulizer turns liquid medicine into an aerosol so you can breathe it deep
into your lungs. Tucker uses his
nebulizer when he is at home. Remember to have an adult help you use and clean
your nebulizer
Getting ready
- Put your compressor on a table.
- Plug the compressor into an electrical outlet.
- Connect one end of the tubing to the medicine cup and the other to the compresor.
- Fill the medicine cup with your medication.
- Turn the compressor on and check to see a mist coming out of the mouthpiece.
- Sit up straight. Put the mouthpiece in your mouth and slowly breathe in and out. When a mask is used, you can breathe in and out the same way.
- Your treatment is finished when the nebulizer begins to make a ‘spluttering’ noise. Turn off the compressor.
Cleaning your compressor
- Unplug your compressor before cleaning.
- Check the filter once a week and replace if dirty.
- Wipe down the outside of the compressor once a month with a damp cloth.
- Store in a safe, dry place.
Cleaning your nebulizer
- After every use disconnect the tubing and take apart the nebulizeer.
- Wash the nebulizer parts with warm Soapy water.
- Rinse with clean water and air dry.
- Once a week, boil all parts (not the tubing or facemask) in water with 2-3 drops of dishwashing liquid for 10 minutes.
