Power the ZA 3500
- When using ethernet as a network use the power over ethernet to power the ZA 3500. Make sure you have 802.3af POE.
- When using a Wi-Fi network use a 12 V adapter. The ZA 3500 does not ship with a 12V power adapter.
Set the network of the zone anchor
Log in to the ZA 3500
- Get the password for this zone anchor in the Sensolus platform: Admin => Infrastructure. Then click on this specific zone anchor.
- On your internet browsers navigate to http://192.168.99.1.
- Login. Leave the user name is is, and enter the password you received from the Sensolus platform
Connect the ZA 3500 to the internet Via dedicated Wi-Fi network:
- By default, the gateway emits local Wi-Fi network with SSID called GW-{MAC Address}.
- The MAC address can be found at the back of the device.
- On your computer, connect to that SSID and navigate to http://192.168.99.1.
The downside of using Wi-Fi is that your computer will now be disconnected from the internet.
**Via LAN
**
- If there is Ethernet with DHCP, you can plug in the ethernet cable. Then, browse to the IP address to get the same interface.
- To find out the IP address: Look up in your local network router list of connected devices, if you have access.
- First use the Wi-Fi method to login into the admin web interface, and then note the Ethernet IP address. (In the Network tab, ethernet with DHCP must be enabled there).
- For ethernet, DHCP (=automatically get an IP) or static address can be configured.
- Select “Ethernet” toggle.
- Whether it is DHCP or static, enter the settings of your network.
Via own Wi-Fi

When there is no Wi-Fi or LAN a 4G dongle can set up a Wi-Fi network. We have
recommondations how to set this up.
Configure network and security
Set the admin password for the web interface
Copy the value from “Admin password” for the zone anchor in the Sensolus
platform.
Go to Status > Admin password. Paste the value. Hit “Save & Apply”
Set the password for the gateway’s config Wi-Fi SSID:

- Saving will cause the device to restart.
Select how the ZA 3500 will connect to the internet:
For ethernet, DHCP (=automatically get an IP) or static address can be
configured. Select “Ethernet” toggle. Fill in the fields for the Ethernet
connection.
When enabling wireless, there’s an option to select between
the Wi-Fi networks that the device has found. Fill in the
needed information for the Wi-Fi network.
Verifieing the configuration
- Verifying the configuration: In the Admin section, locate the zone anchor, and check the “Last Seen alive”. That should be very recent. (if you configured to send data every 5 minutes; this should not be more than 5 minutes old).
- You can use “Show debug info” to visualize the last message posted by the anchor. You can inspect which iBeacon tags it has found. If all went well, and there are tags nearby the device, you should see the tags
Set the location of the ZA 3500
- Login to the sensolus plat-form.
- Go to Admin => Infrastructure
- Select the ZA 3500 for which you want to set the location.
- Set the location on the map.
Installation of the zone anchor
Vertical installation on the wall
- Install vertically on a wall to cover a zone in a warehouse against the walls.
- Make sure the beacons are in the ”field” the anchor is scanning. => always test the setup!!
- Install above 2 meters.
- Preferably do not install on metal surfaces
Horizontal installation on the ceiling
- Install horizontally on the ceiling to cover an area. Install in the middle of the area.
- Make sure the beacons are in the ”field” the anchor is scanning.

Range of the ZA 3500
Depending on the configured signal strength, the Zone Anchor will cover an area between 2 meter and 20 meter radius.
