Its accessory is a remote control.

THE INSTALLATION OF THE HUBS

If you want to use the decorative soles included in the packaging, they must be fixed to the bottom of the sound boxes with screws. Otherwise, you can use self-adhesive soles to protect the floor.

  • To mount the hubs, first lay the sound boxes face down on a carpet. The supports must be fixed with the screws supplied with them. Care must be taken when moving the sound boxes to avoid damaging the speakers under the textile surfaces or the front panel! Two people are needed to work safely.

PUTTING INTO USE

Make sure that the unit is disconnected from the mains when making connections. Make sure that the sound box (with the tilt switch in the OFF position on the back) and the devices to be connected are switched off. Make sure that the connectors have correct wiring and polarity. Keep the microphone cable and the audio connection cable away from the mains cable. On the back of the active sound box, plug the passive sound box connection cable into the +/- marked speaker output jack (RIGHT OUTPUT). The plug can only be inserted in one position! Gently push the plug in until it stops!
After plugging in the mains plug, turn on the rear tilt switch. Touch the ON/OFF button on the front panel or use the remote control to switch on.

  • The remote control and the on/off switch on the front of the device do not switch off the power to the sound box. They are only recommended for short breaks in use.
  • After use, turn it off with the tilt switch on the back. If you are not going to use it for a long period of time, unplug the power cord.
  • The active sound box with controls plays the left sound channel (L). You should take this into account when you place it.
  • It is forbidden to connect any other speaker to the active sound box other than the passive sound box supplied with it!
  • Route the power cord and the speaker cord carefully – not side by side – to avoid damaging them.
  • If you want to space the speakers further apart, get a suitable length of speaker wire, at least 2×0.75mm. Make sure that the connections are firm, avoid short-circuiting and observe the correct polarity. This operation should only be performed by a professional! Unprofessional intervention may cause product failure. In such cases, the guarantee and warranty do not apply.

VOLUME CONTROL AND FUNCTION SWITCHING

SAL 250BT Multimedia Sound Box-
fig-1

The volume can be adjusted using the corresponding touch buttons or the VOL+ / VOL- buttons on the remote control. You can change the volume by pressing them briefly repeatedly or holding them down.

  • The function to be operated can be selected with the INPUT button: FM RADIO – USB or SD music playback – Wireless BT connection – AUX wired audio input.

Multimedia functions available: connecting external devices (AUX AUDIO INPUT), connecting microphones (MIC1, MIC2), wireless BT connection (BT), USB/SD music player, FM radio. The available services may vary depending on the signal source used. Functionality that belongs to an external, unconnected device is not available, such as SD mode without an SD card.

USE OF THE TOUCH BUTTONS

There are touch buttons on the front of the device, which must be operated with clean, dry and full fingertips. If you are not comfortable using these, we recommend using a remote control. The touch response of the touch buttons depends on several factors. In case of improper operation, check the following aspects. For example: touching in an inaccurate position, touching on too small a surface, touching with an incomplete fingertip, touching with or partially with a fingernail, sweaty or wet fingers, dry, fragmented skin, cream or lotion on fingers, dirty or greasy palms, inadequate duration of touch, condensation or dirt on the contact surface, statically charged synthetic clothing, fingertip or environment with a temperature different from the average.

MAXIMUM VOLUME

All speakers should be run in before normal use. During the first 30 to 50 hours of operation, they should be used at 50% volume. Higher volumes may, in certain cases, cause distorted, poor quality sound. This may be caused by an overly high input signal level. To avoid this, reduce the signal level from the external device (e.g., BT, AUX) or, if necessary, the volume of the sound box. The maximum volume of a system is the one, at which the sound produced is high quality and distortion free.

  • Any further increase of the volume will not increase the output power, but raise the distortion of the system. This may damage the speakers, as well as cause defects.
TONE CONTROL

Both the touch buttons and the remote control on the sound box can be used to adjust the low and high tone. Remember that different signal sources and different volume levels require different settings. Otherwise, the sound quality may deteriorate. Always find the best setting for the current programme and volume. Use the MENU button to select HI (high) or SU (low), then immediately start adjusting it up or down by tapping one of the volume control buttons in quick succession. You can also use the TRE+ / TRE- and SW+ / SW- buttons on the remote control instead of the touch buttons. Press the MIC VOL / EQ + / – buttons on the remote control to access different EQ setting modes: EQ 0…EQ1…EQ5. This function is only active for USB/SD/BT playback.

  • In BT mode, correctly setting the volume and tone on the mobile phone (notebook, etc.) is important for good sound quality.
  • In AUX mode, correctly setting the volume and tone of the signal source is important for good sound quality.
  • The RESET button on the remote control activates the default volume and tone settings.
ADJUST THE BRIGHTNESS OF THE DISPLAY

You can adjust the brightness of the LED display to suit your individual needs. Press the ECHO / DISPLAY + / – buttons on the remote control until you see the desired brightness. The same buttons control the echo of the microphones when they are connected.

WIRELESS BT CONNECTION

The device can be paired with other devices that communicate using the BT protocol within a range of up to ~10 metres. After pairing, you can listen to music played on your mobile phone, tablet, notebook or other similar device. By pressing the INPUT button repeatedly, select the BT function. Place the device to be paired in the vicinity of the unit, and find nearby wireless BT devices, including this sound box, as described in its operating manual. Connect the two devices. After a successful connection, the BT indicator that was blinking will light up continuously. Then you can listen to the desired program via the speakers. The player application on the playback device (e.g., a mobile phone) can usually be controlled remotely using the buttons / / of the control panel or remote controller.

  • In BT mode, correctly setting the volume and tone on the mobile phone is important for good sound quality.
  •  One sound box can be paired with one BT signal source at a time.
  •  If the wireless connection is lost, switch the BT mode on the sound box off and on again if necessary. Press and hold (~2 sec) the button and the BT connection will be disconnected, then repeat to reactivate pairing mode. Switch BT mode on and off on your mobile device if necessary.
  • If you receive a phone call to the connected mobile phone while listening to music, the music will pause. After your conversation, restart playback if it does not resume automatically.
  •  The actual range depends on the other device and the environmental conditions. (e.g., walls, human bodies, other electrical appliances, motion…)
  • Electrical devices operated nearby may cause abnormal operation or noise; this does not indicate a malfunction of the sound box!
  • Abnormal operation may be caused by the individual characteristics of the external device; this is not a sign of product malfunction. In certain cases, the BT functionality may be limited, depending on the external device.
USING THE RADIO

Carefully adjust it to the vertical position, then pull out the back telescopic antenna to its full length. Select the FM radio mode with the INPUT button. The display shows the current reception frequency. Press and hold the button on the device or remote control to start automatic tuning and storage. storage. Press the SAVE button, and the message GOOD will appear on the display. The requested specific receive frequency has been stored in the location with the desired serial number.

  • The search stops when it detects varying signal strength – this does not always mean that a radio program is found.
  • The reception capability of the radio largely depends on the place of use and the current reception conditions.
  • Do not place large metal objects or electrical equipment close to the device!
  • Adjust the antenna in the direction for best reception! The positioning of the equipment can also affect the quality of reception.
  • The radio offers mono reception.’
MUSIC PLAYBACK FROM USB/SD STORAGE

The player is ready to play when the device is switched on. Carefully insert the USB or SD memory and the device will automatically switch to USB/SD mode and start playing. If necessary, use the INPUT button to activate this function or to select the data storage device. It is not recommended to connect two different data storage devices at the same time. The display shows the line number and elapsed time of the current programme, and the line number of the next song when it is scrolled. To start playback, press the button, but playback will also start automatically when the external device is inserted. Use the same button to pause playback (PAUSE) or with the scroll buttons you can select the programme you want. Pressing and holding the latter allows fast scanning. Some extra features can only be activated when the player is switched on. Use the REPEAT button on the remote control to select the playback mode. ONE: repeat current song, RND: random sequence playback, ALL: repeat all the songs in the programme. The EQ function detailed above is applicable in music player mode.

WIRED AUDIO INPUTS

The following input options are available to connect external devices with headphone output or audio output to the sound box:
AUDIO INPUT: 2x RCA sockets for headphones or stereo LINE OUT output of an external device (CD, DVD, TV, multimedia player, mobile phone, tablet, computer, musical instrument…). When selecting (with the INPUT button) the display shows the AUX message. MIC1, MIC2: ∅6,3 mm mono sockets for wired handheld microphones. See the next chapter.

  • The sound quality depends on the quality of the audio signal received from by the external device and its volume and tone settings. In AUX mode, correctly setting the volume and tone of the external signal source is important for good sound quality.
  • If the sound box receives weak signal (low volume), it may cause extra noise, while a too large signal may cause distortion. It is recommended to keep the volume of the source at medium level.
  • To make the appropriate connection, you may need to buy a connection cable or, in some cases, an external adapter.
  • For more information, see the user guide of the device you want to connect.
KARAOKE MICROPHONE FUNCTION
