IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION For Your Protection, Read Carefully
Warning: Risk of fire. Do not install insulation within 3 inches of
fixture sides or wiring compartment, nor above fixture in such a manner as to
entrap heat.
Electric current can cause painful shock or serious injury unless handled properly. For your safety, always remember the following:
- Turn off the supply power.
- Ground the fixture to avoid potential electrical shocks.
- Do not handle an energized fixture or energize any fixture with wet hands, when standing on a wet or damp surface, or in water
SURFACE-MOUNTED CYLINDER:
- Remove trim assembly from cylinder.
- a) For 8” cylinders, remove trim assembly by pulling down on reflector as shown in Figure 1. Disengage torsion springs by compressing the legs so that they can be removed from the trim retention brackets.
- b) For 9” cylinders, remove trim assembly by pulling down on reflector as shown in Figure 2. Carefully disengage constant tension spring from screw located in top of heatsink. Carefully allow the spring to retract back into cylinder. USE EXTREME CAUTION WHEN RETRACTING THE CONSTANT TENSION SPRING. SPRING IS UNDER TENSION AND EDGES ARE SHARP. GLOVES ARE REQUIRED.
- Remove twist-lock hinge cover plate from top of cylinder housing by releasing the twist-lock lever inside the cylinder as shown in Figure 3 or 4. Reinstall trim assembly once cover plate has been removed.
- Attach the twist-lock hinge cover plate directly to 4” square or octagonal junction box as shown in Figure 5 using (2) Phillips head screws provided.
- Install the cylinder housing onto the twist-lock hinge cover plate by guiding the “T” through the hole in the top of the cylinder as shown in Figure 6.
- Align “T” perpendicular to hole and engage into the two small slots. Allow cylinder housing to hang from twist-lock hinge cover plate.
