READ AND FOLLOW ALL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS!
SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS AND DELIVER TO OWNER AFTER INSTALLATION
- To reduce the risk of death, personal injury or property damage from fire, electric shock, falling parts, cuts/abrasions, and other hazards please read all warnings and instructions included with and on the fixture box and all fixture labels.
- Before installing, servicing, or performing routine maintenance upon this equipment, follow these general precautions.
- Installation and service of luminaires should be performed by a qualified licensed electrician.
- Maintenance of the luminaires should be performed by person(s) familiar with the luminaires’ construction and operation and any hazards involved. Regular fixture maintenance programs are recommended.
- It will occasionally be necessary to clean the outside of the refractor/lens. Frequency of cleaning will depend on ambient dirt level and minimum light output which is acceptable to user. Refractor/lens should be washed in a solution of warm water and any mild, non-abrasive household detergent, rinsed with clean water and wiped dry. Should optical assembly become dirty on the inside, wipe refractor/lens and clean in above manner, replacing damaged gaskets as necessary.
- DO NOT INSTALL DAMAGED PRODUCT! This luminaire has been properly packed so that no parts should have been damaged during transit. Inspect to confirm. Any part damaged or broken during or after assembly should be replaced.

- These instructions do not purport to cover all details or variations in equipment nor to provide every possible contingency to meet in connection with installation, operation, or maintenance. WARNING
RISK OF ELECTRIC SHOCK
- Disconnect or turn off power before installation or servicing.
- Verify that supply voltage is correct by comparing it with the luminaire label information.
- Make all electrical and grounded connections in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and any applicable local code requirements.
- All wiring connections should be capped with UL approved recognized wire connectors.
WARNING RISK OF BURN
- Allow lamp/fixture to cool before handling. Do not touch enclosure or light source.
- Follow all manufacturer’s warnings, recommendations and restrictions for: driver type, burning position, mounting locations/methods, replacement and recycling.
CAUTION RISK OF INJURY
- Wear gloves and safety glasses at all times when removing luminaire from carton, installing, servicing or performing maintenance.
- Avoid direct eye exposure to the light source while it is on.
CAUTION RISK OF FIRE
- Keep combustible and other materials that can burn, away from lamp/lens.
- Do not operate in close proximity to persons, combustible materials or substances affected by heat or drying.
CAUTION: RISK OF PRODUCT DAMAGE
- Never connect components under load.
- Do not mount or support these fixtures in a manner that can cut the outer jacket or damage wire insulation.
- Unless individual product specifications deem otherwise: Never connect an LED product directly to a dimmer packs, occupancy sensors, timing devices, or other related control devices. LED fixtures must be powered directly off a switched circuit.
- Unless individual product specifications deem otherwise: Do not restrict fixture ventilation. Allow for some volume of airspace around fixture. Avoid covering LED fixtures with insulation, foam, or other material that will prevent convection or conduction cooling.
- Unless individual product specifications deem otherwise: Do not exceed fixtures maximum ambient temperature.
- Only use fixture in its intended location.
- Electrostatic Discharge (ESD): ESD can damage LED fixtures. Personal grounding equipment must be worn during all installation or servicing of the unit.
- Do not touch individual electrical components as this can cause ESD, shorten lamp life, or alter performance.
- Some components inside the fixture may not be serviceable. In the unlikely event your unit may require service, stop using the unit immediately and contact an ABL representative for assistance.
- Always read the fixtures complete installation instructions prior to installation for any additional fixture specific warnings.

Introduction
Product Description. The PhuzionTM PHS Remote LED fixtures have been designed and tested in accordance with applicable UL/CSA standards and are suitable for use in damp locations. The remote fixture will come with flex conduit attached to the Electrical Housing. The Optical Housing will be separate and require a rigid stem attachment. Optical Housing max weight is 30 lbs. Electrical Housing max weight is 20 lbs.

DESCRIPTION USE
- 5/16” socket Electrical Door, Stem Set Screw
- 3/8” socket Electrical housing surface mount
Swivel Stem Installation (Figure 2)
- Slide cover onto stem.
- Attach swivel bracket to junction box.
- Feed electrical housing wires from top of stem through hole in swivel ball and out top of swivel bracket. 2.3.4 Open packet of adhesive that is taped to inside of swivel bracket.
- Apply adhesive evenly to threads at top of stem. 2.3.6 Thread stem tightly into swivel ball.
- Wipe away excess adhesive.
- Make all wiring connections in accordance with approved wiring methods and train wiring and connectors into outlet box.
- Slide cover up stem and twist into place against swivel.

Standard Stem Installation (Figure 3)
- Slide cover and swivel dome onto stem.
- Attach hook bracket to outlet box, route wiring from electrical housing through round access opening.
- Hang the stem fitting on hook bracket and install cotter pin.
- Make all wiring connections in accordance with approved wiring methods and train wiring and connectors into outlet box.
- Slide cover and swivel dome up stem. Secure swivel dome with swivel dome set screw to hold cover against mounting surface.
Optical Mounting (Figure 3)
- Install Optical Housing via the Wiring Chamber onto ¾” NPT or NPS rigid conduit, minimum 6 turns until tight. Rigid stem must be mounted to a suitable structure capable of supporting the full weight of the Optical housing in accordance with local codes.
- Tighten set screw to 25 – 35 in-lb.
- Proceed to section 2.4 or 2.5 for Electrical housing mount.

WARNING
FAILURE TO TIGHTEN SET SCREW COULD CAUSE FIXTURE TO FALL RESULTING IN INJURY, DEATH OR SERIOUS PROPERTY DAMAGE.
Shorten the Length of Flex Conduit (Optional)
- Disconnect the conduit fitting from the top of the optical housing do not disconnect electrical connections.
- Pull the flex conduit away from the optical housing 6 inches. Be careful not to pull the wires within the flex conduit, as the wires are pre-wired inside the electrical housing.
- Cut the flex conduit and wires to the desired length at the free end of the flex conduit that will become attached to the junction box.
- Maintain at least 5 feet of flex conduit to ensure minimum distance between optical and electrical housings.
- Re-connect the flex conduit to electrical housing while feeding the wires out the free end of the flex conduit.
- The wires at the free end should extend 6 inches beyond the flex conduit for wiring inside the junction box. 2.5.8 Do not pull wires beyond 6 inches or junction box wire connections could be pinched or damaged.
- Remove the flex conduit fitting from the cut portion of the flex conduit and attach for later insertion into the junction box. There must be no splices and no damaged insulation on wires inside the flex conduit. (see figure 7)
CAUTION
MOUNT ELECTRICAL HOUSING 4 FEET AWAY HORIZONTALLY FROM THE OPTICAL HOUSING TO ENSURE ELECTRICAL COMPONENTS DO NOT EXCEED THEIR MAX TEMPERATURE LIMITS.
Electrical Hook Mounting (Figure 7)
- Hang the Electrical Housing on a structure that is properly sized and attached to support the weight of the Electrical Housing
- Ensure the spring tab has snapped closed against the inside of the hook.
- Proceed to section 2.9 for wiring.
Electrical Surface Mounting (Figure 8)
- Mount Electrical housing to vertical or horizontal surface that can support the weight of the Electrical Housing. If mounted vertically, orient Electrical Housing with hook on top.
- Mounting position locations are show in Figure X 2.7.3 Mount Electrical housing using fasteners properly sized to support the weight of the Electrical Housing.

Supply Wiring (Figure 5, 9)
- Open electrical door by loosening (4) door screws enough to lift door off keyhole slots. Do not completely remove the door screws.
- Rotate 180 degrees and hang off (2) of the door screws previously loosened.
- For supply wiring, make all wiring connections in accordance with all local electrical codes.
Flex Conduit to Stem Wiring (Figure 5)
- For Flex Conduit wiring, remove (1) KO from junction box (not provided) and insert flex conduit fitting into KO and secure in place.
- Connect green lead to ground lead.
- Connect leads per PHS ELC. Wiring Key (Figure 6) 2.9.4 Close junction box and secure Dome or Cover per section 2.2 or 2.3
Stem to Optical Wiring (Figure 4, 5)
- Connect green lead to ground lead
- Connect leads per PHS Optical Wiring Key (Figure 6)
- Swing the fixture up, latch the J-bolt to the hanger and secure with the captive wing nut.
- Tighten captive wing nut to XX-XX in-lb.
- Take care not to pinch any wires while closing the wiring chamber.
10V DC Dimming Wiring (Figure 7)
- Optional low voltage dimming terminal is located directly behind the integrated hook on the Electrical Housing
- Connect supply dimming leads to the Pink or Gray (-) and Violet (+) DC dimming leads located on the dimming terminal.
Safety Chain Option
- Safety chain option comes attached to the Optical housing. Attach loose end to building structure leaving no more than three inches of slack. Leaving more than three inches of slack will allow a long free-fall, resulting in a large impact load and possible structural failure.
WARNING
LEAVE NO MORE THAN THREE INCHES OF SLACK IN THE CHAIN WHEN ATTACHING TO THE
BUILDING STRUCTURE. LEAVING MORE SLACK WILL ALLOW A LONGER FREE-FALL, A
RESULTING LARGER IMPACT LOAD AND POSSIBLE STRUCTURAL FAILURE. FAILURE TO
INSTALL THE CHAIN AS INSTRUCTED MAY RESULT IN INJURY OR DEATH OR SIGNIFICANT
PROPERTY DAMAGE.

Maintenance
Electrical Component Replacement (Driver, Surge protector) (Figure 7, 9)
- Disconnect power to the luminaire location before maintenance. Loosen (4) door screws on Electrical Housing enough to lift door off keyhole slots. Do not completely remove screws.
- Rotate door 180 degrees and hang off (2) of the door screws previously loosened.
- Tag leads before disconnecting.
- Replace components using Holophane approved replacement parts.
- Re-connect electrical leads
- Re-install electrical door and tighten door screws, ensuring all leads are completely inside enclosure and not pinched.
Optical Housing
- There are no user serviceable parts in the Optical Housing.
