SAFETY

✓ Familiarise yourself with the applications, limitations, and hazards peculiar to the portable adjustable gantry crane.
✓ Maintain the portable adjustable gantry crane in good condition.
✓ Replace or repair damaged parts. Use recommended parts only. Unauthorized parts may be dangerous and will invalidate the warranty.
• WARNING! This portable adjustable gantry crane is designed for lifting within a garage or workshop environment.
✓ Keep the portable adjustable gantry crane clean for the best and safest performance.
✓Ensure the surface that the portable adjustable gantry crane is to be located is level, even, and firm and is capable of supporting the imposed loads of the portable adjustable gantry crane. A concrete floor is recommended.
× DO NOT use the portable adjustable gantry crane on tarmacadam or other soft surfaces as the portable adjustable gantry crane may sink in.
✓ Ensure the crossbeam is level.
✓ Keep children and unauthorized persons away from the working area.
✓ Keep the working area clean and tidy, free from unrelated materials.
✓ Ensure the work area has adequate lighting.
× DO NOT exceed the maximum load capacity of the portable adjustable gantry crane. This includes the lifting tackle and block trolley or beam clamp plus the working load.
• WARNING! Overloading is dangerous and may cause serious personal injury. To avoid injury, be fully aware of your own and other person locations when lifting or lowering the load.
✓ Position the portable adjustable gantry crane so that the lifting appliance is directly over the load.
✓ Apply the wheel locks prior to raising the load.
× DO NOT attempt to move the portable adjustable gantry crane whilst under load.
× DO NOT use a vehicle, winch, etc. to tow the portable adjustable gantry crane.
× DO NOT allow the load to swing unduly or in an uncontrolled manner.
× DO NOT rotate the load unless the center of gravity will remain under the center line of the block trolley or beam clamp.
× DO NOT allow persons to pass under suspended loads.
× DO NOT place ladders or climb on the unrestrained portable adjustable gantry crane.
× DO NOT leave suspended loads unattended.
✓ Keep a sound footing and balance, and ensure the floor is not slippery, and wear non-slip footwear.
× DO NOT attempt to alter the crossbeam height whilst under load.
✓ Raise and lower the load with care and ensure the landing area is properly prepared.
× DO NOT use the portable adjustable gantry crane to perform a task for which it is not designed.
× DO NOT use the portable adjustable gantry crane whilst tired, under the infl uence of drugs, alcohol, or intoxicating medication.
✓ When not in use store in a safe, dry childproof location.

INTRODUCTION

Ideal for workshops/garages where level lifting is essential. Fitted with winch in order to easily raise and lower gantry. Four swivel locking castors. The Gantry crane is NOT to be moved while loaded. All steel construction with ‘I-beam’ cross member for added strength. Winch assisted height adjustments (Unladen) from 2400 to 3600mm in 100mm increments. Ideal for maintenance, manufacturing, repairs, and other material handling tasks. Quick assembly and disassembly for easy transport within a workplace or from site to site. Lifting tackle not included.

ASSEMBLY

Unpack the product and check the contents. Should there be any damaged or missing parts contact your supplier immediately?
Take care when removing components from packing as some parts are heavy.
Refer to the attached parts list.
Seek assistance from another person on the assembly of heavy parts.

4.1. ATTACH PLATES TO CROSSBEAM
4.1.1. Position one pair of plates (#20) to crossbeam (#19) and secure with bolt M12 x 35 (#1), M12 washer (#2), M12 spring washer (#3), and M12 nut (#4).
4.1.2. Repeat for another end.
4.2. ATTACH WHEELS TO BASE ASSEMBLY
4.2.1. Attach a wheel (#27) to each end of the base assembly (#26) and secure with bolt M10 x 30 (#15), M10 washer (#12), M10 spring washer (#16), and M10 nut (#17).
4.2.2. Repeat for another base assembly.
4.3. ATTACH BASE ASSEMBLY TO VERTICAL POSTS
NOTE: The inner and outer vertical posts are supplied pre-assembled with the winch assembly attached.
4.3.1. Attach the base assembly complete with attached wheels (section 4.2) to the fi xing plate at the base of the outer vertical post (#23) and secure with bolt M12 x100, M12 washer (#2), M12 spring washer (#3), and M12 nut (#4).
4.3.2. Repeat for another vertical post assembly.
4.4. ATTACH THE PIN
4.4.1. Locate the pin (#18) through the hole in the outer vertical frame and the corresponding hole in the inner vertical post and fi t the retaining R clip.
4.4.2. Repeat for the other vertical post assembly.
4.5. ATTACH CROSSBEAM TO VERTICAL POSTS
4.5.1. With the assistance of another person hold the vertical post assembly (section 4.3) in a vertical position.
4.5.2. Raise the crossbeam assembly (section 4.1) safely and securely with a fork truck or crane and secure the vertical post with bolt M12 x 35 (#1), M12 washer (#2), M12 spring washer (#3), and M12 nut (#4).
4.5.3. Repeat for the other vertical post assembly.
WARNING! If using steps to access crossbeam fi ings ensure that you follow all working at height precautions.
4.6. ATTACH THE SUPPORT TUBE
4.6.1. Locate the upper fi xing hole of the support tube (#22) to the bracket on the vertical post assembly and secure with bolt M14 x 40 (#5), M14 washer (#6), M14 spring washer (#7), and M14 nut (#8).
4.6.2. Repeat for all other support tubes.
4.7. ATTACH THE HANDLE
4.7.1. Loosen the locking bolt located on the winch shaft, by turning counterclockwise.
4.7.2. Fully locate the handle pin (#11) into the slot on the pulley shaft (#13), and secure it into place by turning the fi xing bolt clockwise.
4.7.3. Repeat for other side.
4.8. ATTACH LOCKING BOLT
4.8.1. Thread the locking bolt (#33) into the threaded nuts welded to the outer vertical frame.
4.8.2. Repeat for other side.

OPERATION

5.1. SETTING CROSSBEAM HEIGHT Seek assistance from another person to raise or lower the crossbeam.
5.1.1. Locate the portable adjustable gantry crane into position and lock all the wheels (#27).
5.1.2. Slacken off all locking bolts (#33).
5.1.3. Take up any slack in the cable by turning pulley handles (#11) to suit.
5.1.4. Remove the retaining R clip from the pins (#18) and then remove the pins from the vertical posts.
5.1.5. Turn the pulley handles (#11) to position the crossbeam assembly (section 4.1) to the desired height.
NOTE: Ensure that the holes in both the inner (#21) and outer vertical (#23) posts align and that the crossbeam is level.
5.1.6. Re-insert the pins (#18) and the retaining R clips.
5.1.7. Slacken off the pulley (#13) so that the pins (#18) are taking the full weight of the load.
5.1.8. Re-tighten the locking bolts (#33).

MAINTENANCE

NOTE: Maintenance and repair must be carried out by a quality ed person. Contact your Sealey stockist for details.
6.1. The portable adjustable gantry crane should be visually inspected before each use for signs of damage or misuse.
6.2. If the portable adjustable gantry crane appears to be damaged, badly worn, or operates abnormally it MUST be removed from service.
6.3. Check all fittings are tight before each use.
6.4. Always keep the portable adjustable gantry crane clean, dry, and protect from harsh conditions.
6.5. When not in use store the portable adjustable gantry crane in a safe, dry childproof location.

ENVIRONMENT PROTECTION
Recycle unwanted materials instead of disposing of them as waste. All tools, accessories, and packaging should be sorted, taken to a recycling center, and disposed of in a manner that is compatible with the environment. When the product becomes completely unserviceable and requires disposal, drain any fluids (if applicable) into approved containers and dispose of the product and fluids according to local regulations.
