Vivo Manufacturer Warranty

Thank you for choosing a mobile phone from vivo! As a manufacturer of high- quality products, vivo itself sets high quality standards for its products. Therefore, vivo Mobile Communication Co, Ltd. (“vivo”), having the principal place of business at No.1, vivo Road, Chang’an, Dongguan, Guangdong, China, grants a warranty on the product you have purchased, provided that the following conditions are met:

Scope of warranty
vivo grants a warranty on the product you have purchased, provided that the following conditions are met with reference to the requirement of no defects, including function, material or production defects. The warranty period starts from the date of purchase/invoice, and the specific provisions are as follows:

  • 24 months for the mobile phone and the built-in battery.
  • For the warranty period of technical accessories (charger, charging cable/data cable, earphones) that you have purchased together with the mobile phone, refer to the official website.

The warranty applies throughout the EU and the United Kingdom for all products purchased in the EU and the UK. However, if the country where the warranty services will be provided differs from the country of purchase, the services may be delayed. If a defect occurs during the warranty period, vivo will provide one of the following services of its choice under this warranty

  • Repair the product for free; or
  • Replace the product with an equivalent product for free.

Exclusion of warranty

Warranty claims are excluded in case of damage to the product caused by:

  • Normal wear and tear;
  • Improper operation;
  • Use of third-party accessories;
  • Failure to observe safety precautions;
  • Use of violence (e.g. beating);
  • Misuse, abuse, negligence or an accident howsoever caused;
  • Spillage of food or liquids, corrosion, rust or the use of wrong voltage,
  • Attempts to repair, disassemble or modify the phone (e.g. attempt to remove the battery) on your own initiative or by any party other than vivo or its authorized service centers.

In addition, modification or replacement of the original operating system (e.g. modifying root permission or installing custom ROM), as well as absence of or tampering with the serial number or IMEl, will lead to the exclusion of the warranty. However, if the warranty does not apply, you can have your product repaired with a fee.

Warranty conditions

A precondition for the warranty is that you allow vivo to check your warranty claim. To do so, you have to send the product to vivo for defect inspection. When requesting a warranty service (repair or replacement), a copy of the invoice or proof of purchase shall be submitted or enclosed so that vivo can check whether the product is still within the warranty period.

Preparations

Before you hand over or send a product to vivo for warranty claim check, please back up all personal information, data and apps stored on the product, and then delete all personal data from the product. If necessary, also remove all storage media, SIM cards or accessories that are not included in the scope of delivery. vivo is not liable for damage or loss of data, apps, SIM cards or removable storage media. If the defect also affects technical accessories (charger, charging cable/data cable, earphones) that you have purchased together with the mobile phone, please also enclose them. You can help vivo for troubleshooting by including a description of the defect or malfunction. Ensure to use safe packaging during transport to avoid damage to the product.

Your other rights
This manufacturer’s warranty policy does not restrict your legal rights under applicable local laws related to consumer sales, in particular existing statutory warranty rights. These rights continue to exist in addition to the warranty and can be claimed by you in the event of a defect in the product, irrespective of the existence of a warranty claim.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, other than the legal rights to which you are entitled under applicable local laws and the above express warranty provided by vivo, vivo grants no other warranties, whether express or implied, in terms of services in this warranty document. To the extent permitted by law, vivo will not be liable for any unforeseeable loss due to a breach of this warranty. Consumers can only use vivo products for non-commercial purposes. Therefore, vivo will not bear any profit, income, or time loss caused by your use of the device or inability to use the device. Nothing in this warranty shall exclude vivo’s liability for (i) death or personal injury, (i) negligence or fraud, (ii) fraudulent misrepresentation, or (iv) any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
