Chevrolet Camaro 1993–2002, Pontiac Firebird 1993–2002
- Proper alignment of the window glass must be performed before installing the door panel. Failure to properly align the window glass can result in premature failure of the window regulator assembly or potential leakage within the cabin of the vehicle.
- 3 separate adjustments need to be made to ensure proper alignment of the window glass. The adjustments are as follows:
In/Out (designated with “A”)
Adjustment is needed to achieve the proper gap between the window glass and
the window glass seal. The jack-screws can be adjusted on the vertical window
rail to adjust the window to maintain even contact with the window glass seal.
Cycle the glass between full up and down positions to verify operation and
adjust as necessary.
Tilt (designated with “B”)
Adjustment is needed to achieve proper sealing along the entire window glass
seal. The tilt of the window glass can be adjusted with the fasteners on the
horizontal window rail. Cycle the glass between full up and down positions to
verify operation and adjust as necessary.
Up Stops (designated with “C”)
- Adjustment is needed to ensure the window glass stops at the correct position at the full upward travel at both ends of the window glass. With the door closed, cycle the window glass to the full up position and adjust the up stops accordingly. Cycle the glass between full up and down positions to verify operation and adjust as necessary.
- Verify that the window glass seals fully in contact with the window glass. Verify that no scissoring of the door glass and seal occurs during normal operation. If any of the above conditions are found then repeat adjustment steps as necessary.
