SKZ-12 Soup and Counter Boilers
Dear customer,
congratulations on the purchase of our soup and counter boilers.
SARO´s Model SKZ-12 is made of high-quality stainless steel. The easy
operation ensures incomparable functionality and good success.
With the soup and counter boiler SKZ-12 soups, sauces and stews can be
optimally served and kept warm for your customers.
With a filling volume of 10 litres, the soup and counter boiler SKZ-12 is also
particularly suitable for the catering of several guests.
The temperature of the soup and counter boiler SKZ-12 can be regulated between
50° C and 98° C and, thanks to its practical design, it can also be optimally
used in smaller, narrower rooms.
The inner container of the soup and counter boiler SKZ-12 is made of robust
stainless steel and the outer shell of the body is covered with a steel black
stove-enamelled layer.
Please read these operating instructions carefully before putting the soup and
counter boilers into operation.

Before commissioning this device, please read these operating instructions
carefully and carefully and observe the information contained therein.
These operating instructions provide information on the construction, setup,
operation, maintenance, cleaning and possible disposal of this device.

This symbol draws attention to dangerous situations caused by electrical
current. Failure to observe the safety instructions may result in injury or

WARNING: HOT SURFACE – RISK OF BURNING!
This symbol indicates the hot surface of the unit, during operation and
thereafter. Risk of burns if ignored!
GENERAL INFORMATION
- Read these operating instructions carefully because they contain important information for safe and proper work with the device.
- It is advisable to keep the operating instructions where they are always at hand.
- If the device is passed on to third parties, please also provide these operating instructions.
- Once you have unpacked the device, check that everything is in perfect condition. If anything is damaged, contact your dealer.
- Keep the packaging of the device. The device can only be safely transported in its original packaging, e.g. for repair purposes, during a move, etc. If storage is not possible, separate the various packaging materials and deliver them to the nearest collection point for proper disposal. Please note that all components of the packaging (plastic bags, cardboard, polystyrene parts, etc.) can endanger children and must therefore not be stored near them.
- The device may only be used to keep soups, mulled wine or liquid food warm. Improper use can cause damage and will void the warranty.
- In the event of a fault and/or malfunction, switch off the unit. Unplug the power cord and contact your dealer. He will carry out the repair with original spare parts.
- Observe the accident prevention regulations applicable to the area of application and the general safety regulations.
- The manufacturer/dealer cannot be held responsible for damage caused by non-observance of these operating instructions. In addition, the safety of the device is no longer guaranteed.
SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- The unit may only be connected to a properly installed power outlet. Do not plug another device into the same outlet. The socket must always remain accessible so that the device can be disconnected from the power supply in an emergency.
- To do this, remove the inner pot and pour the amount of water into the appliance basin. Do not use more than 0.6 litres, otherwise the water will overflow when you insert the inner pot.
- Although the device has overheating protection, dry heating can damage the device. In this case the warranty expires!
- When disconnecting the power plug, always pull on the plug housing and never on the cable. Always switch off the unit first.
- Do not touch the power cord or plug with wet or damp hands.
- The cable must not hang over table corners or sharp edges.
- The cable must not come into contact with hot parts or water.
- Check the cable regularly. If it is damaged, e.g. by crushing, it must be replaced by a qualified specialist.
- Do not leave the unit unattended during use. Be especially careful when children are around because they cannot see the dangers of handling electrical appliances.
- Do not move the kettle during use.
- Before any cleaning or repair, allow the unit to cool down completely, switch it off and always disconnect the mains plug.
- Never place the unit in water or other liquids. There is danger to life through electric shock.
- Disconnect the plug after each use.
- Any repairs may only be carried out by a specialist.
- If you do not intend to use the unit for a long time, unplug the power cord, clean the unit and cover it with an air-permeable cloth.
WARNING: DANGER OF FIRE!
Do not place the device near flammable materials or liquids!
A sufficient distance must be maintained on all sides.
Attention
The counter boiler may only be switched on if 0.6 litres of water have been
filled in beforehand.
INSTALLATION AND OPERATION
- Unpack the device carefully.
- Place the kettle on a horizontal, stable, non-slip and heat-resistant surface.
- Take out the inner pot and clean everything with a damp cloth and a small amount of water.
- Detergent (see CLEANING). After that, you dry everything well. Make sure that the cable and plug do not get wet.
- Fill the unit with 0.6 litres of water.
- Place the inner pot with contents (e.g. soup/food/glow wine) in it.
Remark:
Remember that the counter boiler is a warming device and was not designed
for heating food. So always put preheated products in the pot.

Plug the plug into the socket.

Turn the thermostat switch to the desired temperature.
The temperature range is between approx. 50° and approx. 95 ° C. When the selected temperature is reached, the unit switches off automatically. The heating time depends on the outside temperature and the volume. -
To switch off, turn the temperature switch to OFF/OFF.

Then remove the plug from the socket.

Clean everything thoroughly.
CONNECTION
Before connecting the device, make sure that the voltage and frequency of the
power supply correspond to the information on the type plate!
If the device has a mains plug connection, plug the mains plug into a
suitable, earthed socket.
If the device does not have a mains plug connection, it must be installed by a
specialist!
WARNING: DANGER FROM
ELECTRIC CURRENT!
- Make sure that the power cable is free of damage.
- Damaged equipment must not be used! In this case please contact your specialist dealer!
- Before connecting to the mains, check that the type of current and the mains voltage correspond to the information on the type plate of the device.
- If necessary, have a specialist take over the connection.
- Do not use adapters or extension cords.
CLEANING
- The unit must be cleaned after each use.
- Make sure that the temperature switch is set to OFF and that the plug is no longer in the socket.
- Allow the unit to cool completely.
- Take out the inner pot and empty it.
- Clean this and also the lid with a commercially available detergent.
- Both parts can also be cleaned in the dishwasher.
- Pour the water out of the appliance basin. Make sure that you never use the
- Put the soup kettle in water for cleaning, spray it or clean it with a water, steam or high pressure cleaner.
- Clean the outer and inner surfaces as well as the upper part ring thoroughly after each use, because often something of the contents runs over the edge. Hot spices, but also salt can attack the material. For cleaning, use a damp, warm cloth with a detergent.
- After everything is clean, dry the parts carefully and put the inner pot back into the appliance.
WARNING: HOT SURFACE!
RISK OF BURNING!
- Some components of the soup and counter boilers become very hot during operation! There is a risk of burns when touching these components.
WARNING: DANGER FROM
ELECTRIC CURRENT!
- Do not touch the device, cables and plugs with wet or damp hands.
- The device must not be immersed in water or other liquids. Should the device nevertheless fall into the water, immediately disconnect the mains plug and have the device checked by a specialist before reusing it. There is danger to life through electric shock.

**** PACKAGING DISPOSAL
Please separate the packaging materials accordingly and return them to the responsible collection points for recycling and environmental housing.
DEVICE DISPOSAL
Once the appliance has been used up, dispose of it properly at a collection
point for electrical appliances. Electrical appliances do not belong in
household waste.
Your responsible administration will inform you about the addresses and
opening hours of collection points. This is the only way to ensure that old
