MONACOR EDL-204 Ceiling Speaker
Flush-Mount Speaker
These instructions are intended for installers with specific knowledge of 100 V technology for PA appli-cations. Please read the instructions carefully prior to installation and keep them for later reference.
Applications
This PA speaker is specially designed for application in PA sys tems operating with a 100 V technique. Due to the one-piece plastic design, the high-quality poly-propylene cone and the rubber surround, the speaker is protected against splash water and therefore also suit able for outdoor installation (IP rating of housing: IP 44).
Important Notes
The speaker corresponds to all relevant directives of the EU and is therefore marked with .
- Protect the speaker against extreme temperatures (admissible ambient temperature range: −30 °C to + 40 °C).
- For cleaning only use a soft cloth, dry or slightly damp; never use chemicals or aggressive detergents.
- No guarantee claims for the speaker and no liability for any resulting personal damage or material dam-age will be accept ed if the speaker is used for other purposes than originally intended, if it is not correctly connected or if it is overloaded.
If the speaker is to be put out of operation definitively, dispose of the speaker in ac-cordance with local regulations.
Mounting
- Saw a hole of the required size into the ceiling or wall (see specifications).
- Make the electrical connection (chapter 4).
- For outdoor installation of the speaker, insert a suitable sealing material between the speaker and the mounting surface so that no moisture will get inside. Fasten the speaker by means of the mounting screws supplied.
Electrical Connection
WARNING During operation, there is a hazard of contact with a dangerous voltage of up to 100 V at the speaker cable. Installation must be carried out by skilled personnel only. Observe the load of the PA amplifier by the speakers. An overload may damage the amplifier! The total power of all speakers connected must not exceed the amplifier power. If the PA system is switched on, switch it off completely before connecting it! Connect the speaker via the terminal: Connect the black core and one of the colored cores correspond-ing to the desired power rating to the out put of the PA amplifier.
When connecting several speakers, make sure that all speakers have the same polarity (e. g. black core = neg-ative pole). Subject to technical modification.
