PA Ceiling Speaker

These instructions are intended for installers with specific knowledge of 100 V technology for PA applications. Please read the instructions carefully prior to installation and keep them for later reference.

Applications

This speaker is specially designed for applications in PA systems. It is equipped with a transformer for operation at 100 V systems. The connected load is matched via selection of the terminals. As a 2-way system, the speaker is ideally suited for reproducing speech and music. The speaker is temperature- resistant up to 100 °C, weatherproof (IP 65) and resistant to salt water (tested according to ASTM B117, salt spray test 400 h). Thus, it is also suitable for outdoor installations or for applications in sauna areas or swimming pool areas.

Installation

Saw the mounting cutout for the speaker into the ceiling (diameter ☞ figure).
Make the electrical connection (☞ chapter 4).
Fold the four clamps upwards.
Insert the speaker into the ceiling cutout by exerting a slight pressure until the clamps are folded down and the speaker is clamped on the ceiling.

Connection

WARNING During operation, there is a hazard of contact with a voltage up to 100 V at the connection cable. Installation must be carried out by skilled personnel only! Observe the load of the PA amplifier by the speakers. An overload may damage the amplifier! The total power of all speakers connected must not exceed the amplifier power.

Prior to connection, completely switch off the PA system!
Connect the speaker: Connect the terminal COM and the terminal marked with the desired power rating to the 100 V output of the amplifier.
When connecting several speakers, make sure that all speakers have the same polarity (e. g. COM terminal = negative pole).
