Using your own router? No worries, we’ve got you covered!
Log into the gateway:
- Ensure your device is connected to the Router (preferably via cable)
- Open a web browser
- Type the following in the address bar at the top: 192.168.1.1
- Default Username : admin
- Default Password : admin
This should then give access to the router’s user interface
How to add correct settings for the Mercury network
From the left menu select: WAN. The Internet Connection page displays. Ensure the following settings are changed:
- WAN Connection Type : PPPoE
- Enable UPnP : Yes
- Get the WAN IP automatically : Yes
- Connect to DNS Server automatically : Yes
- PPP Username : (your mercury acct number)@mercurybroadband.co.nz
- Password : password123
- Service Name : Leave blank
- Connection Type : Continuous
- MTU : 1492
- Connect to DNS Server automatically : Yes
- Select ISP : Manual
- Internet : VID – 10, PRIO – 0
- The rest can remain unchanged
- Click : Apply
