SOMOGYI FLL PIR 20 LED Spotlight Instruction
LED FLOODLIGHT WITH MOTION DETECTOR
Before use of the product, please read this instruction manual and keep it for future reference. The original document was prepared in Hungarian language. This weatherproof LED floodlight is especially suited for the illumination of buildings and courtyards. The adjustable base allows mounting on a vertical surface.
COMMISSIONING
Attention! The commissioning must be carried out by a specialist in compliance
with the applicable safety and contact protection regulations
Follow the steps in Figure 1
- Caution! Before installing and connecting the luminaire, disconnect the power supply!
- Check that the product, including the PIR motion sensor, has not been damaged during transport. Only mount and install the product on the wall if it is undamaged!
- Use screws and dowels to mount the luminaire on a wall with a suitable load-bearing capacity, at least 1.8 m above floor level and up to 5 m high. Choose a location that provides IP65 protection for the floodlight.
- Remove the cover of the junction box by removing the 4 screws. Unscrew the outer plastic nut from the cable gland. Thread the plastic nut onto the wire and feed the wire through the gland into the junction box.
Connect the power cables according to the terminal block markings
Luminaire wire | Network wire |
---|---|
L, brown wire | Phase: brown or black wire |
green-yellow wire | Earthing: green-yellow wire |
N, white wire | Zero: white wire |
- Screw the plastic nut tightly back onto the gland. Screw the gland cover back on so that the silicone gasket is in place. Tighten the 4 screws. Adjust the angle and direction of the floodlight and the PIR motion sensor.
- You can now reconnect the circuit by switching on the circuit breaker.
THE MOTION DETECTOR
The floodlight is turned on by the built-in motion sensor and operates only for the preset time. If there is continuous movement in the observed space, the switch-off delay time starts from the end of the movement. This time interval can be adjusted from 10 seconds to 8 minutes with the TIME potentiometer. An additional feature is the possibility of switching on depending on the ambient light intensity. The LUX knob is used to set the brightness level below which (3-20.000 LUX) the device will switch on when motion is detected. This way the lamp does not operate unnecessarily. The detection distance can be adjusted with the SENS button, from about 2 to 8 metres
The diagrams showing the detection range will help you to choose the location for installation. (Figure 2)
Things to know:
- If the difference between the temperature of the person moving and the ambient temperature is small (e.g. in hot summer weather), the range of 8 m may be reduced by up to half.
- Occasional false activation may be caused by hot air flow or a gust of wind, or by a car passing nearby (hot engine) or similar phenomenon.
- If the light sensor of the lamp is partially or completely shielded (e.g. under a roof, under a tree), it may be switched on during daylight hours when moving.
- It is desirable to aim for a clearly visible detection zone.
CLEANING, MAINTENANCE
To ensure the optimal operation of the luminaire, you need to clean it on a monthly basis at least, or when it becomes dirty.
- Before cleaning, disconnect the luminaire from power supply.
- Let the luminaire cool down (min. 30 minutes)
- Clean the outside of the luminaire with a slightly damp cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents! Do not let water leak inside the luminaire or spill on electrical components.
PROTECTIVE SCREEN
If the protective screen is cracked or broken, do not use the product any longer. The protective screen is not replaceable, so if it is damaged, the product must be destroyed
TROUBLESHOOTING
Fault symptom | Possible solution to the fault |
---|---|
The lamp does not light up when motion is detected. | Check the wiring of the |
appliance and the power supply.
Check that the light sensitivity setting is correct.
Sensitivity is low.
| Check that the motion sensor window is not blocked or needs cleaning.
The ambient temperature may be too high.
Check whether there is an inductive signal source in the detection area of the
motion sensor (e.g. electric motor).
Check the installation height.
Check that the direction of the movement to be detected is correct.
The motion sensor does not switch off the device.
| Check if there is a continuous infrared signal source in the detection area.
---|---
Check whether the delay time is set to maximum.
Check that the mains voltage is 230 V~ / 50 Hz.
Check that the temperature does not change frequently near the sensor (e.g.
due to air conditioning, radiator).
WARNINGS
- Make sure that the product was not damaged during shipping.
- Always disconnect the power supply before commissioning, repair or cleaning!
- The product must be installed and repaired by qualified personnel only, in compliance with the applicable safety regulations.
- Mount it on a surface with a suitable load-bearing capacity, at least 1.8 m above floor level and up to 5 m high.
- The luminaire cannot be installed in loops.
- The luminaire must only be connected to an installed cable!
- The wire must be of H05RN-F type, and 3 x min. 1.0 mm2 cross-section!
- Always use the lamp with its protective shield!
- The protective screen is not replaceable, so if it is damaged, the product must be destroyed!
- Do not cover up the floodlight!
- The light source in the luminaire is non-replaceable. At the end of the service life of the light source, the entire luminaire must be disposed.
Do not stare into the light of the LED
The lamp shade can not be replaced, so in case of its damage the entire product must be discarded
Please maintain the required distance from the illuminated surface (and should be 0,5 m)!
Risk of electric shock! Do not attempt to disassemble of modify the unit or its accessories. In case any part is damaged, immediately power off the unit and seek the assistance of a specialist
DISPOSAL

because it may contain components hazardous to the environment or health. Used
or waste equipment may be dropped off free of charge at the point of sale, or
at any distributor which sells equipment of identical nature and function.
Dispose of product at a facility specializing in the collection of electronic
waste. By doing so, you will protect the environment as well as the health of
others and yourself. If you have any questions, contact the local waste
management organization. We shall undertake the tasks pertinent to the
manufacturer as prescribed in the relevant regulations and shall bear any
associated costs arising.
