MPow Wireless USB Dongle

Driver Installation From Cd

Compatible systems: Windows 7/ 8.1/ 10/ Linux (The driver is automatically adaptive to the version and language of Windows OS)

1. Put the CD in the disk drive open “My Compute or ” “and click this icon.
2. Click “next” after  finish, installation.
3. Click· “Finish” to end the installation and then restart the computer.

Driver Download & Installation Steps

In case that your computer does not equipped with a disk drive. the driver can also be downloaded from MPOVs official website.(https//xmpow.com/drivers)

1. After downloading and decompressing the driver, find this icon in the folder.
2. Click “next: “after finish installation
3. Click “Finish” to end the installation and then restart the computer.

Tips For Installation

1. To make sure the driver installation not be intercepted. please shut down
   the antivirus software in your PC during the process.

2. If your PC has built-in Bluetooth device (e.g. Windows 8/10 in your computers please disable the device before driver installation. (press “win+ Rw in the keyboard and type “devmgmtmsc” to find built- n Bluetooth'”‘).

3. If you have installed other Bluetooth drivers, please uninstall it first (e.g.:
   press ‘Win+R” in the keyboard and type “appwizcpl” to find the previous Bluetooth driver).

Tips For Installation

Turn on Bluetooth on your device first like cellphones, headphones, speakers. Blueloolh mouse, and Blueloolh keyboard, etc., before pairing with MPOW USS adapter.

Connect To Windows 10 Os

1. Click the Bluetooth icon on the bottom right corner of the taskbar–click
   • Add a device” (If there is not a Bluetooth icon in the taskbar. please follow The steps below. Open Device Manager -click Bluetooth icon— display Bluetooth icon (In the notification area)
   

2. Click “Add a device”.

3. Click ·Bluetooth”.

4. After the computer searching for the nearby Bluetooth devices. please choose one to pair with.
   

Connect To Windows 8.1 Os

1. After the Bluetooth driver installed, click the Bluetooth icon on the bottom right corner of the taskbar–click “Add a device” (If there is not a Bluetooth icon in the taskbar. please follow the steps below. Open Device Manager click Bluetooth icon”-display Bluetooth icon” in the “Notification area)
   

Connect Windows 7 Computer

1. Click the Bluetooth icon on the bottom right corner of the taskbar- click
   “Add a device” If there is not a Bluetooth icon in the taskbar. please follow The steps below: Open Device Manager – click Blueloolh icon – display Bluetooth icon in the Notification area)
   

2. After the computer searching for the nearby Bluetooth devices. please choose one to pair with and click “Next”.

3. Pairing code would pop up both on your computer and mobile phone.
   Confirm the pairing request on” your phone first. and click “Next on the PC.
   

4. It shows on the computer that your phone is successfully connected with the PC.
   

Note

Installation On Linux Operating System

Driver installation Steps

1. Put the CD in the disk drive. enter the folder, and copy a folder named
   “Linux_BT’ to the desktop.

2. Install wireless device driver, change to the driver package and execute the below command $ sudo make install
   Note: If you encounter an error like ·depmod:error:Bad version passed/lib/modules/..:, please change the lines ‘depmod -a $(MDL_D1Rl” to ‘depmod -a $(shell uname -r)”.

3. Insert MPOW BH456A USB dongle and Check LMP subversion by the follow ng command $ hci config -a.

4. Now MPOW BH456A USS dongle can be recognized and wireless function is added.

Wireless Device Pairing Steps

1. Click Bluetooth icon on your computer and add a device.
2. After the computer searching for the nearby Bluetooth devices. you can choose one to pair with and Click ·continue”.
   

FAQ

1. An abnormal driver installation occurs in a Windows XP operating system computer.
   A. Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP upgrade service on April 8, 2014, and we strongly recommend using MPOW USB dongle in Windows 7 or higher version Windows’s OS.

2. An abnormal driver installation occurs in a Windows 8 operating system computer.
   A. It is not recommended to install the driver in Windows 8 operating system. As we know, Microsoft tends to replace Windows 8 operating system with Windows 8.1 and Windows l O due to System framework limitations.

3. Why does it prompt that MPOW USB dongle cannot be installed after plugging it in the computer?
   A. Please try other USB ports.

4. Why MPOW USB adapter cannot be detected when plugged into the computer?
   A. Bluetooth service may be disabled in your computer.
   B. Please press “Win+R”. enter “Services msc” to find Bluetooth service Service”. and set the startup type to “Auto” mode.

5. Why the Bluetooth dongle cannot be detected when it connects to the computer through an extension cable?
   A. It may cause insufficient power supply when you connect the USB dongle with an extension cable. which leads to a recognition failure.

6. Why M POW USB adapter can only connect within a short distance?
   A. The average connection range of MOPW USB adapter is 1 O lo 30 meters indoors. The distance varies from is the environmental obstacle changes.
   The connection range is among 20 to 50 meters outdoors.

7. Why does a yellow exclamation mark appear on the Device Management page.
   A. It may be the conflict between MPOW Bluetooth dongle and the built-in Bluetooth of the computer: press ‘Win , R” to enter “devrmgmtmsc” to find the built-in Bluetooth and disable it.

8. Why does the computer prompt that a driver has already been Installed during the installation?
   A. It may be that the other Bluetooth device driver has not been removed.
   B. Press ‘Win- R” and enter “appwizcpl’ to then find the old drive and uninstall it

9. Why does the de\Ace fail to connect or stream music intermittently?
   A. Please delete the connected Bluetooth device and re-pair.

10. The driver is successfully installed. but no Bluetooth device can be detected.
    A. It may be that your PC is not in pairing mode. Please restart the computer.

11. There is no sound from the Bluetooth headphones after it connected to the PC.
    A. Please click “Sound Icon/ Playback Device” in the lower right corner of the desktop and set the Bluetooth headset “Bluetooth A2DP Stereo Audio” .as the default output (i.e.: set the Bluetooth headset as the default output device

12. Bad sound quality.
    A. Please uncheck “Hands-free phone” from the “Services” selling on the computer: Control Panel/Hardware and Sound / Devices and Printers–> select the device and right-click open “Properties”, then go to “Services” ”Tab. uncheck” Handsfree “.
