Ironing
After preparing all the necessary for the ironing, unroll the power cable and
check that it is free from knots or tangles.
Lift the handle by pressing the appropriate button.
Attention : before connecting the plug to the mains, check that the voltage selection button is posi-tioned correctly according to the mains voltage in the country where you are located
- Check if the water tank is full; if you want to use steam, you should fill the tank with water (see the specific pa-ragraph).
- Turn the thermostat to the position “MIN”.
- Fill the water tank with sufficient quantity.
- Place the iron vertically, paying attention that the soleplate will not come in contact with objects or anything else. Insert the plug into the socket.
- Set the thermostat to the desired temperature, referring to the symbols printed on the thermostat.
- At this point, you can start ironing.
Steam ironing
- To iron with steam move the steam switch to the back.
- When using the iron for the first time, press several times on the steam shot button, so that the impurities that during the construction of the iron deposited inside the holes will be eliminate.
- Steam ironing is possible by adjusting the thermostat to the position marked by the symbol (•); increasing the temperature also increases the jet of steam, up to the maximum marked by the symbol (•••).
- The working indicator light turns on and when the soleplate will reach the temperature (temperature that allows the steam to escape) it switch off.
- Press the steam shot button and the steam will come out.
- Respect a 5 seconds interval between one shot of steam and another.
- If the steam shot button will be press before reaching the set temperature, the water will not come out vaporized but will drip from the plate; this can cause ironing spots on the garment.
- Water dripping can also be caused by prolonged pressure of the steam jet button. (More than 5 seconds)
- At the end of the operation, place the iron in vertical position and disconnect the plug from the socket.
- The iron must be constantly on movement on the fabric to be ironed.
Warning : always direct the steam jet in the direction of the garment to iron, never towards the face. After ironing, always empty the tank of the remaining water, after having unplugged the plug from the electrical socket.
Dry ironing
- To dry iron move the steam switch forwards to deactivate the steam outlet.
- Adjust the soleplate temperature by turning the thermostat.
- The working indicator light turns on and when the soleplate is at temperature it turns off. Start ironing after the iron has reached the desired temperature.
Note that in this case, the plate reaches lower temperature values, compared to steam ironing. At the end of the operation, place the iron in vertical position and disconnect the plug from the socket. The iron must be constantly on movement on the fabric to be ironed.
Setting the temperature
Always check the label with the ironing instructions on the article to be
ironed and follow them.
Turn the thermostat knob to set the desired temperature, following the legend
below.
- The number of dots in the thermostat indicates the temperature from the lowest (•) to the highest (•••). The table is valid for fabrics and not for finishes such as shiny or relief of the fold which must be ironed backwards. Before using the iron, always make sure that the temperature of the iron is correct with the type of fabric: wool with wool, cotton with cotton, etc.
- The iron is quick to heat up and slow to cool down; so start ironing clothes that require low temperatures (such as synthetic fabrics) and go in progression with higher and higher temperatures.
- When the item to be ironed is made up of several fabrics, adjust the temperature for the most delicate fabric. If you do not know the type of fabric to be ironed, it is recommended to iron a part of it, normally not visible when the garment is worn, starting from the minimum temperature, and then finding the most suitable temperature. It can happen that the garment becomes shining, in this case you need to finish ironing so as not to ruin it and iron the fabric from the reverse side.
Fill in and empty the tank
- This operation must always be done with the plug disconnected from the socket.
- Always dry the body of the iron from any drops and your hands before reconnecting the plug to the socket. Make sure the thermostat is positioned in the minimum position and the steam activation button is off.
- Lift the tank lid and slowly fill the tank using a small glass or funnel.
- Do not exceed the maximum level of the tank indicated on the tank itself.
Be careful not to let water penetrate the cracks in the iron, there is a risk of short circuits and/or electric shock. At the end of the filling, close the tank lid and connect the plug to the electric socket.
Note: The iron is designed to use tap water, however, if the water is
very hard, it is advisable to use a mixture of distilled water and tap water.
It is suggested to empty the water tank after each use, in order to avoid the
formation of limescale, mold and bad smells. It is recommended to let the iron
cool down for a few minutes before emptying the tank.
To empty the tank, turn the iron upside down on a sink (or similar) and drain
all the water still left in the tank. Otherwise, place the iron in vertical
position and reconnect the plug to the electricity.
Place the thermostat on “MAX” and allow the residual water to evaporate in the
tank for a few seconds, by pres-sing the steam button.
Cleaning of the iron
- Unplug the appliance from the socket.
- Remove the plug from the electrical outlet.
- To remove scale or starch from the soleplate, use a damp cloth.
- Always dry the soleplate after each cleaning.
- Clean the body of the iron with a damp cloth without detergents.
- Do not use metallic sponge or abrasive detergents.
Storage
- Disconnect the power cable from the power outlet, empty the water tank (do this after each use) and let the iron cool down completely.
- Wind the cord around the base.
- To protect the soleplate, place the iron in vertical position.
