Thank you for choosing our sandwich maker/grill. Before using the appliance, and to ensure the best use, carefully read these instructions.
The safety precautions enclosed herein reduce the risk of death, injury and electrical shock when correctly adhered to. Keep the manual in a safe place for future reference, along with the completed warranty card, purchase receipt and package. If applicable, pass these instructions on to the next owner of the appliance. Always follow basic safety precautions and accident prevention measures when using an electrical appliance. We assume no liability for customer failing to comply with these requirements.

SECURITY INSTRUCTIONS

  • When using any electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be observed.
  • Please read this manual carefully before using the product.
  • When operating the product, do not move it at will.
  • Please do not allow children to operate this product without the super- vision of adults.
  • When using the product, please place it on top of a levelled surface or table.
  • When using the product, please keep it far away from any fire source, flammable or explosive hazardous article, or electric oven.
  • Please do not use this product outdoors.
  • During or after use, please do not touch the sandwich plate or the hot area on the shell before the temperature goes down. Only touch the handle with lower temperatures to avoid being burned.
  • The baking tray of this product has a nonstick surface, so that it is easy to clean. Therefore, please do not use any metal nor hard abrasive tool to wipe the interior/exterior of the machine body, nor cook any kind of pies, to avoid scraping the surface of the baking tray.
  • Please unplug the electric plug after use. Do not unplug it by pulling the cord, instead, pull the electric plug.
  • To ensure safety, please do not disassemble the product by yourself. Should anything abnormal occur, please send it back to the sales agent and have it checked or repaired by professional service personnel.
  • If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.
  • The temperature of accessible surfaces may be high when the appliance is operating.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • The appliances are not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
  • This electrical appliance contains a heating function. Surfaces, also different from the functional surfaces, can develop high temperatures. Since temperatures are differently perceived by different people, this equipment shall be used with CAUTION. The equipment shall be touched only at the intended handles and gripping surfaces, and you should use heat protection like gloves or similar. Surfaces other than intended gripping surfaces shall get sufficient time to cool down before being touched.
  • This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 and above and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
  • Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
  • Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children under 8 years old.

BEFORE THE FIRST USE

Remove any packaging, labels or stickers from the product. Make sure all parts are complete before discarding the packaging.Wipe the base, lid and controls with a clean cloth. Clean the hotplates thoroughly. The removable non-stick cooktop is dishwasher safe.

OPTIONS

This appliance can be positioned in three different ways: closed, open and flat.

  • Closed position – The two grill plates are in contact. This is the perfect position for heating the plates. With this position the appliance can be used for heating sandwiches, toasting bread, cooking omelettes…
  • Open position – The upper grill plate is open and forms 100° with the lower plate. This position is recommended before placing food directly on the plates when the food is intended to be used in the closed position.
  • Flat position – The upper and lower grill plates are leveled to create a large cooking surface. You have the option of cooking various types of food on separate plates without combining their flavours. The grill and griddle can also accommodate different cuts of meat with different thicknesses, allowing you to cook each piece to your liking.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

  • Choose the position in which you are going to use the device according to the recipe you are going to make.
  • Connect the sandwich maker to the mains. The indicator light (POWER) will come on.
  • To heat the bottom plate, use the temperature selector on the bottom body. You can choose between OFF, LOW, MED and HI. Once the desired temperature is reached, the cooking indicator LED will turn off.
  • If you want the upper plate to heat up as well, press the switch on the back of the lower body.
  • Place the ingredients on the plate (you can add a little oil depending on what you are going to cook or your personal preference).
  • Close the lid, if desired, and switch on the sandwich maker to start it up.
  • There may be a slight smell and some smoke at first. Don’t worry, this is temporary and harmless. Make sure there is sufficient ventilation.
  • Control the cooking time according to the food to be cooked.
  • Note: The cooking surface will be hot, be careful.
  • Be careful when removing the food as it will be hot. Wait a few minutes until it cools down a little before eating it.
  • Unplug the power cord after cooking and allow the sandwich maker to cool down before moving, cleaning or storing.

REMOVABLE LOWER GRILL PLATE

The lower grill plate is pre-installed on the unit. It is removable for easy cooking, grease and oil transfer and cleaning. A drip trap is located at the rear of the grill. The drip collector prevents excess grease/oil during cooking.
The lower grill plate have handles on both sides for ease of handling. Lift the lower grill plate by handles and fully-slightly forward to remove it from the product.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Unplug the appliance after use and wait for it to cool down, then wipe the inside of the cooking tray with a damp cloth and make sure that the appliance is clean. You can also remove the cooking plates once it cools down to clean them. You can use dishwashing detergent.
  • You can clean the outer surface with a damp cloth. Do not use chemicals or abrasive cleaners.
  • Do not rinse the sandwich maker by immersing it in water to avoid electrical currents or other problems.
  • Make sure the grill plates are completely dry before reinstalling them.

In compliance with Directives: 2012/19/EU and 2015/863/EU on the restriction of the use of dangerous substances in electric and electronic equipment as well as their waste disposal. The symbol with the crossed dustbin shown on the package indicates that the product at the end of its service life shall be collected as separate waste. Therefore, any products that have reached the end of their useful life must be given to waste disposal centres specialising in separate collection of waste electrical and electronic equipment, or given back to the retailer at the time of purchasing new similar equipment, on a one for one basis. The adequate separate collection for the subsequent start-up of the equipment sent to be recycled, treated and disposed of in an environmentally compatible way contributes to preventing possible negative effects on the environment and health and optimises the recycling and reuse of components making up the apparatus.
Abusive disposal of the product by the user involves application of the administrative sanctions according to the laws.
