FAQs

Q: What should I do if my machine is not sealing bags correctly?

A: If your bags are not sealing correctly, it is recommended to have a qualified technician inspect and repair the machine as needed.

Safety Instructions

  • Position on a flat, stable surface.
  • A service agent/qualified technician should carry out installation and any repairs if required. Do not remove any components from this product.
  • Consult Local and National Standards to comply with the following:
    • Health and Safety at Work Legislation
    •  Fire Precautions
    • Wiring Regulations
    • Building Regulations
  • DO NOT immerse the appliance in water.
  • The sealing bar becomes hot during use. DO NOT touch the sealing bar during or immediately after the operation.
  • Do not turn Off the plug to halt operation; always use the Cancel button.
  • Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use.
  • Only use bags recommended by the supplier/manufacturer with the appliance.
  • Always switch off and disconnect the power supply to the appliance when not in use.
  • Not suitable for outdoor use.
  • Keep all packaging away from children. Dispose of the packaging in accordance with the regulations of local authorities.
  • If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a Caterlite agent or a recommended qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard.
  • This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory, or mental capabilities, or lack of experience or knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
  • Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
  • Caterlite recommends that this appliance should be periodically tested (at least annually) by a Competent Person. Testing should include, but not be limited to: Visual Inspection, Polarity Test, Insulation Continuity, and Functional Test.

Operation

  • The Vacuum Pack Machine automatically comes on when plugged in.
  • The Vacuum Pack Machine is now ready for use.

Vacuum Packing Food

  1. Place the food in the bag and remove any excess liquid or food residue.
  2. Allow a minimum of 25-50mm of space at the top of the bag to ensure a good seal.
  3. Place the open end of the bag across the Sealing Strip, keeping the opening within the chamber ring, and close the lid, pressing down with your thumbs until the locks on both sides engage.
  4. Press the “Vacuum Seal” button. The indicator light will turn red.
  5. The vacuum pump will engage until the required vacuum level is achieved. The machine will automatically go into seal mode.
  6. Seal Only indicator light will turn red as the machine starts to seal.
  7. When sealing is complete red Seal Only light will go out. Press the side lock buttons to release the lid.
  8. Remove the bag and inspect the bag and seal.
    • (Note : A good seal will look clear upon inspection. If the seal is spotty, incomplete, wrinkled, white, or milky, remove the sealed portion and run the vacuum and seal process again.)
  9.  To stop process, press “Cancel” button. Machine will stop.

Using the “Seal Only” Function

  1.  Place the open end of the bag across the Sealing Strip, keeping the opening within the chamber ring, and close the lid, pressing down with your thumbs until the locks on both sides engage.
  2. Press the “Seal Only” button.
  3. The indicator light will change to red as the machine starts to seal
  4. When sealing is complete red Seal only light will go out. Press the side lock buttons to release the lid.
  5. Remove bag and inspect the bag and seal.
    • (Note: A good seal will look clear upon inspection. If the seal is spotty, incomplete, wrinkled, white, or milky, remove the sealed portion and run the vacuum and seal process again.)

Cleaning, Care & Maintenance

Switch off and disconnect from the power supply before cleaning. Always allow it to cool before cleaning.

WARNING: Do not allow any water to spill into the appliance when cleaning.

  • Use warm, soapy water and a damp cloth to clean the appliance.
  • Dry thoroughly after cleaning.

Troubleshooting

A qualified technician must carry out repairs if required.

Electrical Wiring

The plug is to be connected to a suitable main socket. This appliance is wired as follows:

  • Live wire (colored brown) to the terminal marked L
  • Neutral wire (colored blue) to the terminal marked N
