Safety Tips

Position on a flat, stable surface.

DO NOT immerse the appliance in water above the MAX fill line, or use jet/ pressure washers to clean the appliance.

Do not immerse the appliance below the MIN Fill line.

Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use.

Always switch off and disconnect the power supply to the appliance when not in use.

Not suitable for outdoor use.

Keep all packaging away from children. Dispose of the packaging in accordance with the regulations of local authorities.

If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a Caterlite agent or a recommended qualified technician in order
to avoid a hazard. -
This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning the use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.

Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

Caterlite recommends that this appliance should be periodically tested (at least annually) by a Competent Person. Testing should include, but not be limited to: Visual Inspection, Polarity Test, Earth Continuity, Insulation Continuity, and Functional Testing.

Caterlite recommends that this product be connected to a circuit protected by an appropriate RCD (Residual Current Device).

Caterlite prides itself on quality and service, ensuring that at the time of
packaging the contents are supplied fully functional and free of damage.
Should you find any damage as a result of transit, please contact your
Caterlite dealer immediately. Function

Operation

Choose a suitable water container. The container should be suitable for food use, resistant to temperatures of 100°C, and have a depth of at least 11cm.

Fit the appliance securely to your water
container using the fixing clamp. -
Add water to the container.
Note: The water level (after the food is put in) should be between the MIN and MAX marks on the machine. -
Connect to the mains power supply. All the indicators light up for 1 second then go out with the key only lighting up. The appliance is now on Standby.

Press the key to enter temperature setting mode. The actual temperature display lights up. Meanwhile, the default working temperature “50.0” flashes on the setting temperature/time display, and the key also flashes.

Press the “+” or “-” key to set the temperature (from 0°C to 95°C). Press and hold either key for a fast setting.

If desired, press and hold key to switch between °C and °F.
-
Now press the key to enter time setting mode. The actual temperature display lights up. Meanwhile, the default working time “3:00” flashes on the setting temperature/time display, and the key also flashes.

Press “+” or “-” to set the time (from 00:00 to 99:59). Press and hold either key for a fast setting.

After setting temperature and time, press to start heating.
• If needed, you can press and hold for 2 seconds to stop heating and enter Standby. -
When the water reaches the set temperature, the appliance beeps once and the timer starts to count down.

Place the food to be cooked into the container.
Note: Before Sous Vide cooking, -
When the set time has expired, the appliance will beep 3 times then enter Standby.

Unplug the appliance and let it cool sufficiently.
Cleaning, Care & Maintenance
- Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before any cleaning and maintenance.
- Wipe the exterior surface with a damp cloth. Remove any loose debris if necessary.
- Let it dry well. Cleaning the interior components Should the immersed parts become greasy and thus need thorough cleaning:
- Fit the appliance to the container. Then fill the container with water up to the MAX marking on the unit.
- Plugin the appliance and set the temperature to 65°C.
- Add appropriate amount of dishwasher detergent (ratio: 2 g detergent to 1 Litre water).
- Allow the solution to circulate for 10 minutes after 65°C is reached.
- Turn off and unplug the appliance.
- Clean the appliance and container with fresh water thoroughly, then dry and store in a well-ventilated place.
Maintenance
- Ensure to locate the unit vertically after cleaning.
- During cleaning, do not damage the interior components. Should any damage occur, call the Caterlite agent or qualified technician. Do not attempt any unauthorized repairs to avoid accidents.
- Always use fresh water. If the water is reused many times, mineral substances may adhere to the surface of the components, thus influencing the appliance’s performance.
- For use, do not place hot appliances in cool water or vice versa. Let it cool down to room temperature then lower into cool water for use. Otherwise, the function and lifetime will be affected.
De-scaling
Why…| Normally tap water contains minerals. When water is heated to a
certain temperature, there will be scales accumulated on the heater or surface
of the appliance, which will affect its performance and contaminate the
outlook as well.

When…| We suggest cleaning the machine monthly. Or clean your appliance
more often if you are living in regions with hard water.
How…| 1. Fit the appliance to the container. Then fill the container
with water up to the MAX marking on the unit.
| 2. Plug in the appliance and set the temperature to 80°C.
| 3. Add appropriate amount of citric acid powder (ratio: 16.5 g powder to
1 Litre water).
| 4. Allow the solution to circulate for 20 minutes after 80°C is reached.
| Caution: Should the solution splash onto your eyes, rinse immediately
with fresh water and turn to a doctor if needed!
| 5. Turn off and unplug the appliance.
| 6. Dispose of the solution properly. Do not use the same solution for a
second time. If the results are not satisfactory, repeat the above operations.
| 7. Clean the appliance and container with fresh water thoroughly, then dry
and store in a well-ventilated place.
Troubleshooting

Error message Ed is displayed| Unit is not sitting in the water| Make sure the
unit is sitting in the water and that the water level is between the MIN and
MAX lines.
The water level is too low| Add water, making sure the water level is between
the MIN and MAX lines.
Error message ER2 is displayed| Unit Overheats. It will give out three warning
beeps.| It may be necessary to add water to the container. Wait a few minutes
for the appliance to cool down before restarting.

Electrical Wiring
This appliance is supplied with a 3 pin BS1363 plug and lead. The plug is to be connected to a suitable mains socket. This appliance is wired as follows:
- Live wire (coloured brown) to the terminal marked L
- Neutral wire (coloured blue) to the terminal marked N
- Earth wire (coloured green/yellow) to terminal marked E
This appliance must be earthed. If in doubt consult a qualified electrician. Electrical isolation points must be kept clear of any obstructions. In the event of any emergency disconnection being required, they must be readily accessible.
