Safety Instructions

Position on a flat, stable surface.

A service agent/qualified technician should carry out installation and any repairs if required. Do not remove any components on this product.

DO NOT overfill the appliance.

DO NOT allow the appliance to boil dry.

DO NOT drink directly from the spout.

DO NOT tilt or overturn the Airpot.
-
DO NOT touch hot surfaces with bare hands. Always use the handle.

DO NOT cover the steam vent.
-
DO NOT carry the appliance when full.
-
DO NOT dispense liquid when holding the appliance by the handle.
-
Use extreme caution when operating appliances that contain hot liquids.
-
Do not use the appliance for anything other than its intended use.
-
Not suitable for outdoor use.

Do not fill the inner pot with anything other than water.
-
Keep all packaging away from children. Dispose of the packaging in accordance to the regulations of local authorities.

If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a Caterlite agent or a recommended qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard.

Caterlite recommend that this appliance should be periodically tested (at least annually) by a Competent Person. Testing should include, but not be limited to: Visual Inspection, Polarity Test, Earth Continuity, Insulation Continuity and Functional Testing.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.

This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
– staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
– farm houses; – by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
– bed and breakfast type environments. -
Caterlite recommend that this product is connected to a circuit protected by an appropriate RCD (Residual Current Device).
Introduction
Please take a few moments to carefully read through this manual. Correct maintenance and operation of this machine will provide the best possible performance from your Caterlite product.

Craterlike prides itself on quality and service, ensuring that at the time of
packaging the contents are supplied fully functional and free of damage.
Should you find any damage as a result of transit, please contact your
Caterlite dealer immediately.
Operation
-
Lift the latch to open the lid.
-
Fill the appliance with liquid. Do not fill above the “MAX” line.
-
Close the lid, ensuring it locks firmly in place.
-
Plug in the power cord and connect it to the mains power supply.
-
The Boiling indicator lights up and the appliance begins to heat.
Note: The appliance will take approximately 20 minutes to heat up when filled with cold water. -
Once the correct temperature has been reached, the Keep Warm indicator lights up and the appliance is ready to dispense.
Warning: There is a danger of scalding when opening the lid during and after use. Take care to avoid the expulsion of steam.
Dispense Liquid
There are 2 methods of dispensing liquid:
- Hold a suitable receptacle beneath the spout.
- Push the Water Dispense button to dispense the liquid, or Unlock the Pump button and push down repeatedly to pump out the liquid.
Reboil
It may be necessary to reheat the water in the appliance. Press the Reboil
button to reboil the water.
Lock/Unlock the Pump Button
- Slide the lock to the CLOSED position to lock the pump button ( **** position).
- Slide the lock to the OPEN position to unlock the pump button ( ****position).
Cleaning, Care & Maintenance
Always disconnect the appliance from the power supply and let it cool down before cleaning and maintenance.
- Use soapy water and a damp cloth to clean the exterior of the appliance.
- Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
- NEVER immerse the appliance in water.
Removable lid
- For easier cleaning, the lid can be removed by pressing the lid release tap at the back. Relocate the lid afterwards.
De-scaling
For the best water quality, Caterlite recommend that a water filter is
installed to the mains water supply, particularly in hard water areas. Doing
so will reduce the build up of limescale and contaminants in the water tank
thus maintaining energy efficiency and prolonging the life of the appliance.
To de-scale the appliance:
- Fill the inner pot with water and lemon juice (or a suitable de-scaler), and boil.
- Discard the solution.
Note: Always run water through the appliance after descaling to rinse
the inner pot and tubes.
Note: Use a suitable de-scaler and always follow the instructions on the
packaging.
Caterlite recommend that this appliance is de-scaled every 3 months or more
frequently in hard water areas.
IMPORTANT: Failure to de-scale or maintain will invalidate your
guarantee.
Troubleshooting

When the water just gets boiled, there is too much
steam accumulated inside the pot| Once temperature has been reached, please
allow several seconds for the pressures to equalise prior to activating the
pump
Unit stops working suddenly, “Empty” indicator on| No water inside so boil dry
protection is activated| Allow to cool thoroughly before re-filling

Electrical Wiring
This appliance is supplied with a 3 pin BS1363 plug and lead.
The plug is to be connected to a suitable mains socket.
This appliance is wired as follows:
- Live wire (coloured brown) to terminal marked L
- Neutral wire (coloured blue) to terminal marked N
- Earth wire (coloured green/yellow) to terminal marked E
This appliance must be earthed. ****
If in doubt consult a qualified electrician.
