Safety Tips
- Position on a flat, stable surface.
- A service agent/qualified technician should carry out installation and any repairs if required. Do not remove any components on this product.
- Consult Local and National Standards to comply with the following:

- Building Regulations
- DO NOT immerse the appliance in water.
- DO NOT touch the top and sides of the appliance when in use. Surfaces are hot!
- DO NOT obstruct or cover the appliance in any way when in use.
- DO NOT insert any metallic objects in to the appliance when connected to a power supply.
- DO NOT leave the appliance unattended during operation.
- Always switch off the appliance, disconnect the power supply and allow to cool before cleaning or carrying out maintenance.
- Always switch off and disconnect the power supply to the appliance when not in use.
- Keep all packaging away from children. Dispose of the packaging in accordance to the regulations of local authorities.
- If the power cord is damaged, it must be replaced by a Caterlite agent or a recommended qualified technician in order to avoid a hazard.
- DO NOT use if damaged.
- Caterlite recommend that this appliance should be periodically tested (at least annually) by a Competent Person. Testing should include, but not be limited to: Visual Inspection, Polarity Test, Earth Continuity, Insulation Continuity and Functional Testing.
- This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.
- Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
- Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of child less than 8 years.
- This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
- Fire hazard! Bread can burn! The appliance should not come into contact or be covered with easily flammable materials, like curtains, textiles, walls and the like. Always ensure sufficient safety distance to flammable materials.
- This appliance is intended to be used in household and similar applications such as:
- staff kitchen areas in shops, offices and other working environments;
- farm houses;
- by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments;
- bed and breakfast type environments
- Caterlite recommend that this product is connected to a circuit protected by an appropriate RCD (Residual Current Device).

Please take a few moments to carefully read through this manual. Correct maintenance and operation of this machine will provide the best possible performance from your Caterlite product.

Caterlite prides itself on quality and service, ensuring that at the time of
packaging the contents are supplied fully functional and free of damage.
Should you find any damage as a result of transit, please contact your
Caterlite dealer immediately.
Operation
Toasting
- Connect the appliance to a mains power supply.
- Set the Toasting level using the Level Selector dial (1 – lightest to 7 – darkest).
- Insert the bread into the top of the appliance.
- Push the lever down.
- The appliance will begin toasting. When complete the toast is ejected.
Reheating
Should there be a need to reheat bread that has already been toasted:
- Connect the appliance to a mains power supply.
- Press the ‘REHEAT’ button. The indicator light turns on.
- Insert the toast into the top of the appliance.
- Push the lever down.
- The appliance will begin toasting. When complete the toast is ejected.
Note: The ’REHEAT’ function is for a preset time and power level and cannot be altered by the Level Selector dial.
Defrosting
Frozen bread should be defrosted before toasting.
- Connect the appliance to a mains power supply.
- Press the ‘DEFROST’ button. The indicator light turns on.
- Insert the bread into the top of the appliance.
- Push the lever down.
- The appliance will begin defrosting. When complete the bread is ejected.
Note: The ’DEFROST’ function is for a preset time and power level and
cannot be altered by the Level Selector dial.
Cancelling: Any of the functions can be cancelled at any time by pressing
the CANCEL button.
Bread slices can be removed by lifting the lever.
Cleaning, Care & Maintenance
Always switch off the appliance, disconnect the power supply and allow to cool before cleaning or performing maintenance.
- A Caterlite dealer or qualified technician should carry out repairs if required.
- If necessary wipe the exterior with a soft cloth and warm soapy water.
- Dry thoroughly after cleaning.
Crumb Tray
- Periodically empty the crumb tray (located at the rear of the appliance).
- Slide the tray out to empty.
- Slot back in securely when replacing the tray.

If your Caterlite appliance develops a fault, please check the following table before making a call to the Helpline.

Electrical Wiring
This appliance is supplied with a 3 pin BS1363 plug and lead.
The plug is to be connected to a suitable mains socket.
This appliance is wired as follows:
- Live wire (coloured brown) to terminal marked L
- Neutral wire (coloured blue) to terminal marked N
- Earth wire (coloured green/yellow) to terminal marked E
This appliance must be earthed.
If in doubt consult a qualified electrician.

event of any emergency disconnection being required they must be readily
accessible.
