Installation:

Turn off the Computer and any Peripheral Devices connected to
it. -
Unplug the Power Cable from the back of the Computer.

Disconnect any Peripheral Devices connected to the
Computer. -
Remove the Cover from the Computer Case.

Locate an open PCI Express Slot and remove the corresponding
Slot Cover Plate from the back of the Computer Case. -
Gently insert the PCI Express Card into the open PCI Express
Slot and fasten the Bracket to the back of the Computer Case. -
If needed, replace the standard Full-Height Bracket with the
included Low-Profile Bracket for Small Form Factor systems. -
Return the Cover back onto the Computer Case.

Reconnect the Power Cable and all disconnected Peripheral
Devices. -
Turn on the Computer and Peripheral Devices.
Install the Driver:

Open an Internet Browser and visit the appropriate link based
on your product ID. -
Click on the Drivers & Downloads tab.

Download the Driver for your operating system.

Extract the contents of the Driver Package.

Execute the Installer and follow on-screen instructions for
Driver installation.
Verify Driver Installation:
- For Windows:
1. Navigate to Device Manager.
2. Under Network Adapters, right-click Realtek PCIe GbE Family
Controller and click Properties.
3. Confirm that the Driver is installed and working as
expected.
- For Linux:
1. Run lsmod | grep r8168 from the command line.
2. Verify that the Driver is present in the command line.

Installation
Install the PCI Express Card
WARNING!
Static electricity can cause severe damage to PCI Express cards. Ensure proper
grounding before opening the computer case or touching the PCI Express card.
Use an Anti-Static Strap when installing any computer component. If an Anti-
Static Strap isn’t available, discharge built-up static electricity by
touching a large grounded metal surface for several seconds. Handle the PCI
Express card by its edges, avoiding contact with the gold connectors.
1. Turn off the Computer and any Peripheral Devices that are connected to it
(for example, Printers, External Hard Drives, etc.).
2. Unplug the Power Cable from the back of the Computer.
3. Disconnect any Peripheral Devices that are connected to the Computer.
4. Remove the Cover from the Computer Case. Consult the documentation that
came with the Computer for details about how to do this safely.
5. Locate an open PCI Express Slot and remove the corresponding Slot Cover
Plate from the back of the Computer Case. Consult the documentation that came
with the Computer for details about how to do this safely. This card works in
PCI Express x1, x2, x4, x8, or x16 slots.

6. Gently insert the PCI Express Card into the open PCI Express Slot and
fasten the Bracket to the back of the Computer Case.
Note: If the PCI Express Card needs to be installed into a Small Form Factor
or a Low-Profile Desktop System, it may be necessary to replace the pre-
installed standard Full-Height Bracket with the included Low-Profile Bracket.
7. Return the Cover back onto the Computer Case.
8. Reconnect the Power Cable to the back of the Computer.
9. Reconnect all of the Peripheral Devices that were disconnected in Step 3.
10. Turn on the Computer and Peripheral Devices.

1. Open an Internet Browser and navigate to:

2. Click the Drivers & Downloads tab.
3. Under Driver(s), download the Driver for the operating system.
