Installation

Side A Ports

  1. Connect the Built-in USB-C Host Cable on the Multiport Adapter to a USB-C port on your host laptop. Your computer will automatically detect the device and install all the required drivers.
  2. Connect a VGA cable from your VGA enabled display device to the VGA Output Port on the Multiport Adapter, to add a VGA display to your workstation.
  3. Connect an HDMI cable from your HDMI enabled display device, to the HDMI Output Port on the Multiport Adapter, to add an HDMI display to your workstation.
  4. To connect a display: If using display with USB-C input, connect a USB-C cable from your display to the USB-C DP++ Video Port on the Multiport Adapter . For other displays, connect a USB-C Video Adapter (HDMI, DisplayPort or VGA, sold separately) from the USB-C DP++ Video Port on the Multiport Adapter to your display device.

To connect and/or charge a USB-C peripheral device: Connect a USB-C cable from your USB peripheral device to the USB-C Data/Charge Port on the Multiport Adapter.

Notes:

  • A video cable may also be required to connect your display, depending upon your USB-C video adapter.
  • Your computer’s USB-C port must support DP Alt Mode in order to output video.
  • Video performance, such as resolution, refresh rate depends upon your host computer’s video controller. Please verify the specifications of your computer.
  • A USB-C power adapter must be connected to the USB-C 100W Power Delivery Input Port on the Multiport Adapter, in order to charge connected peripheral devices with up to 5V/2A (10W).
  • Without a power adapter connected, the USB port will output whatever bus power is available, up to 4.5W

Side B Port

  • 5. Connect USB-A cables from your USB peripheral devices to the USB-A Data Ports on the Multiport Adapter, to connect the devices to your computer.

Notes:
• One of the USB-A Data Ports is located on Side C.
• The USB port will output whatever bus power is available, up to 4.5W.

Side C Port

  • 6. Connect a USB-C power adapter (up to 100W) from an AC outlet to the USB-C 100W Power Delivery Input Port on the Multiport Adapter, to charge the laptop that’s connected to the Built-in USB-C Host Cable.

Side D Port

  • 7. Connect a CAT 5e/CAT 6 cable from your local area network (e.g. Router, Switch,
    Modem, etc.) to the Gb Ethernet Port on the Multiport Adapter, to access your
    network via a wired LAN connection.
