USB Bluetooth Adapter with EDR Support Class 1 (100m)

The USB Bluetooth Adapter with EDR Support | Class 1 (100m) is a wireless adapter that enables Bluetooth connectivity for your computer. It supports Enhanced Data Rate (EDR) technology and is classified as Class 1, which means it has a range of up to 100 meters.
The adapter comes with a USB-A connector and can be easily connected to your host computer. It also comes with native drivers that auto-install when connected to your computer, eliminating the need for additional software installation in most cases. However, if the native drivers do not work with your specific Bluetooth device, you can download the Driver Package and BlueSoleil software from www.startech.com/USBBT1EDR2.

Product Usage Instructions

  1. Connect the Bluetooth Adapter to a USB-A Port on the Host Computer. Ensure that your computer is turned on and logged in.
  2. The Bluetooth Adapter should auto-install using native drivers. Wait for the installation to complete before using the adapter.
  3. If the drivers do not automatically install or the native driver does not work with your specific Bluetooth device, disconnect the adapter from your computer.
  4. Navigate to www.startech.com/USBBT1EDR2 and click the Drivers & Downloads tab.
  5. Under Driver(s), download the Driver Package and follow the steps to install the driver & BlueSoleil software.
  6. Use the BlueSoleil software to pair your Bluetooth device. Refer to your device’s user manual for pairing instructions.
  7. Once paired, you can use your Bluetooth device with your computer through the USB Bluetooth Adapter with EDR Support | Class 1 (100m).

Note: Ensure that the StarTech.com wireless device and the body of the user are at least 31cm apart to comply with the Maximum Permissible Exposure (MPE) regulations.

Installation

  1. Connect the Bluetooth Adapter to a USB-A Port on the Host Computer. The Bluetooth Adapter should auto-install using native drivers.
  2. If the drivers do not automatically install or the native driver does not work with your specific Bluetooth device, disconnect the adapter from your computer, then:
    • a. Navigate to www.startech.com/USBBT1EDR2 and click the Drivers & Downloads tab.
    • b. Under Driver(s), download the Driver Package and follow the steps to install the driver & BlueSoleil software.
    • c. Use the BlueSoleil software to pair your Bluetooth device.

Specific precautions for EMC

  • Warning: StarTech.com Class A equipment is compliant with Class A of EN 55032. In a residential environment, this equipment may cause radio interference.
  • StarTech.com products are tested to the requirements of EN 55032 (emissions) and EN 55035 (immunity). There are no specific precautions that must be taken in order to comply with the requirements of Directive 2014/30/EU Essential Requirements in Section 1 of Annex I.
  • In addition, StarTech.com wireless products are further tested to ensure spurious emissions are within the specified limits, as well as meeting the requirements for adaptivity, which mitigates problems caused by co-location with other wireless products.
  • StarTech.com products are not subject to the requirements in Section 2 of Annex I of Directive 2014/30/EU for fixed Installations.
