treadmill, do not stand on the running belt. Straddle the running belt by
placing your feet on both side rails of the treadmill deck. Place your foot on

- Unplug from power point. Put your hands on the end of the running deck. Hold up the treadmill. Move the treadmill to suitable position by using the transport wheels. Put down the treadmill slowly with hands holding on the running deck.
HOW TO USE YOUR GRIP PULSE HANDRAILS
This is a very simple operation to measure your heart rate while you are
exercising.
Simply grasp both handrails firmly and hold. Your pulse reading will be
displayed in the Pulse segment of the Dashboard (top row, far right) in beats
per minute. Remember, this is only a guideline and not exact, as your movement
and grip integrity can slightly alter the Dashboard reading from your actual
rate. The pulse rate you see will be a good approximation of your heart rate
at that moment of your exercise.
HOW TO USE YOUR WIRELESS HEART RATE CHEST BAND (NOT INCLUDED. OPTIONAL)
Use the Wireless Chest Band to transmit your heart rate directly to the
Dashboard. As soon as the Transmitter senses activity from your heart,
it will be activated.
- Step 1 : Adjust the band to fit as tight as comfortable, around your chest, just below your pectoral muscles. Adjust the band so that it is positioned securely and will not fall or move during your workout.
- Step 2 : Position the Transmitter (the middle section of the band) with the flat side against your body, and the logo and rounded, silver surface facing outward away from your body (centered).
- Step 3 : Begin your workout and check for a pulse reading on the Dashboard. The heart-Shaped Icon will flash when it is sensing your heart pulse.
NOTE: Perspiration will help to conduct your heart rate pulses to the Transmitter. If the Transmitter is not sending a signal, or it seems erratic, consider adding some water to the back side of the Transmitter, or wait for your own perspiration to help improve the signal.
It is always recommended to use your wireless chest band when using workout programs.

HRC PROGRAM
There are 3 Heart Rate Speed Control (HRC) programs.
- In the initial mode, press the “PROGRAM” key continuously until the distance display shows “HP1 /HP2 / HP3” (heart rate control program). The “heart rate speed control program” screen appears on the main screen. The “time” window shows the time. Press the “PROGRAM” key for 3 seconds to enter to the configuration. The Speed screen displays the configuration parameters. “Input age” appears on the screen, enter your age using the INCLINE / SPEED +/- keys.
- The Heart Rate Programs are intended to be used with the Wireless Chest Band (Heart Rate Transmitter). Do not use the Grip Pulse Handrails for these programs. You must receive a strong and steady signal for the pulse rate for this program to be effective.
- The HP1 program has a default heart rate value of 65% of your maximum heart rate, the HP2 program is 75% and HP3 is 85%. This is calculated by the program based on the age you input in the program steps. You may select a higher or lower value if you choose, but this is the basic calculation:
220 – Your Age (which is your MHR) x 0.65 (or 0.75 or 0.85)
For example, if you are 45 and choosing HP1, then the calculation is:
(220-45) x 0.65 = 114 beats per minute
NOTE: When you enter an age in the HRC programs, the program will calculate the 65%, 75% and 88% target heart rates (HP1,HP2 and HP3 resp.). However, we always recommend consulting your physician for the proper heart rate targets for your exercise regimen, and prior to participating in any exercise program.
Which one is right for you?
- HP1 (65% of MHR) is a moderate heart rate workout that targets Fat Loss.
- HP2 (75% of MHR) is a moderate-higher heart rate workout that targets Improved Cardiovascular Function.
- HP3 (85% of MHR) is a higher heart rate workout that targets better performance.
When the actual heart rate < target heart rate: The equipment will
automatically increase speed and / or incline until the user reaches the
target pulse.
When the actual heart rate > target heart rate:
The equipment will automatically decrease the incline and / or speed until the user reaches the target pulse.

necessary, adjust the height of the stabilizer located underneath the
treadmill (4 adjustable stabilizers) by turning it clockwise or
counterclockwise to either lower or raise the machine.
BELT TENSION
If the running belt feels as though it is slipping‖ or hesitating when you
plant your foot during a run, the tension on the running belt may have to be
increased.
- Place a wrench on the left belt tension bolt. Turn the wrench clockwise 1/4 turn to draw the rear roller and increase the belt tension.
- Repeat STEP 1 for the right belt tension bolt.
- Repeat STEP 1 and STEP 2 until the slipping is eliminated.
NOTE: Be careful not to tighten too much the belt as it may damage the equipment. To decrease tension, repeat steps 1, 2 and 3 counter clockwise.
CENTRING THE RUNNING BELT
Sometimes the way of running of the user or the unevenness of the surface can
decentralize the band. Always check that the belt is centered.
To align the band, follow the next steps.
- Put the speed of the treadmill at 5 km/h.
- Observe whether the running belt is toward the right or left side of the deck.
- If the belt moves to the right, turn the right adjustment bolt clockwise ¼ turn and the left adjustment bolt ¼ turn in the opposite direction to the clockwise.
- If the belt moves to the left, turn the right adjustment bolt in the opposite direction to the clockwise ¼ and turn the left adjustment bolt ¼ turn clockwise.
- If the belt is still not centered, repeat the above step until the running belt is on center.
LUBRICATION
Lubricate the band every month or every 50 hours of use, whichever comes
first, provided that the treadmill is in normal environmental conditions (eg
away from heat sources). To do this, use 10 ml. of specific lubricant for
bands BESTRIL/243 by Salter. Before greasing, unplug the power cord. Grease
the top of the board. After greasing, remove any excess of lubricant from the
band and from the structure.
