FOREWORD.
The ‘Smartech Plus Expansion Kit’ is designed to be used in combination with Smartech Plus in the event that the air-conditioning system needs to be split into several zones, and you wish to equip each of them with independent room temperature control. Up to 2 Smartech Plus Expansion Kits can be used in each system, which together with the Smartech Plus chrono-thermostat, allow the creation of systems divided into a maximum of 3 zones with autonomous temperature control. The Smartech Plus Expansion Kit includes a wireless chrono-thermostat and a wireless relay to activate the relevant zone actuator , if any. The battery-powered chrono-thermostat requires no electrical connection and is equipped with an e-ink technology display for viewing the main temperature control parameters of the controlled zone. A mount for easy wall assembly is supplied as per standard with the device, while the same table base already supplied with the Smartech Plus kit is available as an alternative. Both the chrono-thermostat and the wireless relay must be paired with the Smartech Plus kit gateway by following the simple pairing procedure outlined in the following paragraphs. Management of all system zones can also be carried out via smartphone by installing the ‘Smartech’ app available on Immergas Android and iOS stores.

1.5 Expansion kit electrical connection Smartech Plus.
Each Smartech Plus Expansion Kit contains a wireless relay for the eventual activation of the corresponding zone actuator. The electrical connections of the Wireless Relay must be carried out according to the diagrams shown in Chapter 4.
N.B.: ensure that the place where the Wireless relay is installed is adequately reached by the home Wi-Fi network to which the Smartech Plus Gateway is also connected.
N.B.: before performing any electrical connection, make sure that all the involved appliances are disconnected from the mains.
N.B.: The Wireless Relay must be connected to the mains power supply (230Vac / 50Hz) in accordance with current electrical installation regulations, providing in any case an omnipolar disconnection device with class III overvoltage category.
N.B.: The wireless relay contained in the kit is specifically designed to be used in Immergas S.p.A. Smartech Plus systems. The manufacturer will not be held liable if a different wireless relay is used than the one provided.
1.6 Coupling to boilers with mixed zones. When installing in combination with boilers in systems with mixed zones, a zones control unit must be used, installing the V2 zones control unit Kit or a DIM Erp (Multi-system Water Manifold) if not supplied as per standard in the boiler. The electrical connection must be made according to the diagrams: – Fig. 7 for appliances equipped with communication bus (IMG BUS), modulating operation. – Fig. 9 for appliances without communication bus (IMG BUS), On/Off operation).
N.B.: when installing Smartech Plus and expansion kit on systems with mixed zones, you must set the design limit temperature for that zone on the trimmers of the mixed zone (ref. R12/R13 Fig. 7/9).
N.B.: when installing Smartech Plus and expansion kit on systems that already have the V2 zones control unit Kit or a DIM Erp (Multi-system Water Manifold), or with boilers supplied as per standard with zones control unit, follow the wiring diagrams indicated above and, if present, eliminate communication cables between boiler (terminals 41-44) and zones control unit.
1.7 Connecting the Wireless Relay to the WiFi network used for the Smartech Plus system.
For the system to work properly, the Wireless Relay and the Smartech Plus Gateway must be connected to the same WiFi network. To do this, follow the configuration procedure below:
– press the button on the Wireless Relay for 10 seconds and then release it, the LED on the same device will start flashing twice per second;
– using a smartphone, select the Wi-Fi network ‘Jotto_RL_xxxx’ from the available networks in the phone’s Wi-Fi network selection menu. Now open your browser and type in the address ‘192.168.4.1’;
– on the page displayed, click ‘Configure wifi’; – from the Wi-Fi networks listed, select the one to which
the Smartech Plus Gateway has been connected, enter its password and press enter; If the procedure is successful, the LED on the Wireless Relay will stop flashing and will remain on steady. Otherwise, repeat the procedure from the beginning.
1.8 Pairing of Chrono-thermostat and Wireless Relay to Smartech Plus Gateway.
N.B.: the procedures below should only be carried out after the Wireless Relay has been properly connected to the same Wi-Fi network used for the Smartech Plus Gateway.
N.B.: ensure that the gateway has been powered for at least 5 minutes.

supplied in the Smartech Plus Expansion Kit).

LED

Description

LED Power

Indicates that the Gateway is powered properly. This LED must always be on steady and green.

It signals the Bluetooth connection of the Gateway with the Smartech Plus chrono-thermostat:

· 1 flash every 4 seconds: it means that

communication between the Gateway

LED

and the Chrono-thermostat is established

BLE

correctly;

· 5 flashes per second: it means that the

Gateway is trying to connect to the chrono-

thermostat, if this warning is frequent, try

to bring the Gateway closer to the chrono-

thermostat or vice versa..

It is a service Led managed separately from

LED Bus

the Gateway. If it flashes at a high frequency there is communication with the generator, if it flashes at a low frequency the commu-

nication is absent.

Signals the connection to the home Wi-Fi network and the Cloud of the chrono- thermostat:

· Off: it means that the Gateway is not con-

nected to any Wi-Fi network or no Account

has been connected to this Gateway, the

chrono-thermostat works regularly even

without a Wi-Fi connection, through the

LED

BLE connection;

Cloud

· 1 flash per second: it means that the Gateway is connecting to the Wi-Fi network or associated Account, if the flashing persists check that the Wi-Fi network is active and verify that you have entered the correct password in the Gateway;

· Steady on: it means that the Gateway is connected to the Wi-Fi network and Cloud and is working properly..
