Product Usage Instructions

Installation

1. Ensure the DC UPS Module is suitable for a 24V system up to 40A. Mount the module on DIN Rail TS35 with proper spacing.
2. Connect the DC input and battery input/output according to the specified voltage and current ranges.

Operation

1. Monitor the LED indicators for DC BUS OK, Battery Fail, and Battery Discharge status.
2. Utilize the built-in battery test function periodically.
3. Ensure proper ventilation for cooling by free air convection.

Maintenance

1. Regularly check the external battery status and charge if needed.
2. Keep the module clean from dust and debris to prevent overheating.

FAQ

1. Q: How often should I perform the battery test function?
   A: It is recommended to perform the battery test function at least once every month to ensure optimal performance.

2. Q: What should I do if the Battery Fail LED is lit?
   A: If the Battery Fail LED is lit, check the external battery connection and voltage range to resolve any issues. If problems persist, contact customer support for assistance.

NOTE|

1. All parameters NOT specially mentioned are measured at rated load and 25℃ of ambient temperature.
2. Battery failure will only function at UPS mode with the battery connected. Every 25 seconds, unit will send out test signal through the “Battery Fail” relay contact and LED indicator once the battery is fail.
3. The power supply is considered a component that will be installed into the final equipment. All the EMC tests are been executed by mounting the unit on a 360mm*360mm metal plate with 1mm of thickness. The final equipment must be re-confirmed that it still meets EMC directives. For guidance on how to perform these EMC tests, please refer to “EMI testing of component power supplies.”(as available on https://www.meanwell.com//Upload/PDF/EMI_statement_en.pdf
4. Battery charging will be in progress when DC input > battery voltage.
5. DR-UPS40 will be in operation when DC input is applied at the beginning.
6.  The ambient temperature derating of 3.5℃/1000m with fanless models and of 5℃/1000m with fan models for operating altitude higher than 2000m(6500ft).
