General safety instructions

Read all safety notes and instructions.

Filure to comply with the safety information and instructions can cause serious injury and/or damage to property.

Keep all safety notes and instructions for future reference!

  • This appliance can be used by persons aged 16 years and over and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children must not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be carried out by children without supervision.
  • In conjunction with a compressor, the compressed air maintenance unit is used for the maintenance and care of your compressed air tools. The compressed air maintenance unit may only be used with an air compressor. When using the unit, observe the technical data of the connected tools and check them regularly during use.
  • Part of the intended use is also the consideration of the safety instructions contained in the operating instructions.
  • Persons who use the compressed air maintenance unit and carry out maintenance work are obliged to familiarise themselves with it. Furthermore, they must be informed about potential dangers. The applicable accident prevention regulations must be observed correctly and conscientiously.

2.1 Safety instructions for the use of compressed air equipment

  • RISK OF INJURY! Disconnect the compressed air supply before tool changes, adjustment and mainte nance work.
  • When loosening a connection, always hold the compressed air hose firmly in your hands. The whipping recoil of the compressed air hose can cause injuries.
  • The compressed air maintenance unit must be installed before it can be safely put into operation.
  • The compressed air maintenance unit may only be connected to a compressed air source that does not exceed the working pressure of 8 bar.
  • Do not place the compressed air lines near heat, oils, heat and sharp edges.
  • The compressed air maintenance unit may only be operated in conjunction with an air compressor. The use of other sources of compressed air, such as a compressed air cylinder, is prohibited. There is a risk of fire and/or explosion.
  • Make sure that you keep children and persons with limited physical or mental abilities away from the compressed air maintenance unit and from connected compressed air tools.
  • When carrying out maintenance, adjustment and repair work, always disconnect the compressed air maintenance unit from the compressed air supply first.
  • Only use the compressed air maintenance unit if it is in immaculate condition. If in doubt, first consult a specialist before use.
  • Only have repairs carried out by qualified specialists.

Preliminary Measures prior to Starting Up

3.1 Wall mounting

  • For wall mounting, use the wall bracket 2 for marking on the wall and for screwing with the supplied mounting material (see scope of delivery, Fig. D).

3.2 Filling the oil nebuliser unit

  • Remove the oil reservoir 7 by turning the locking ring 6 clockwise (see fig. E). Fill the oil reservoir 7 with suitable compressor oil until the maximum mark is reached (see fig. B on the fold-out page).
  • Subsequently, tighten the oil reservoir 7 only manually (without tools) by hand in an anti-clockwise direction.PARKSIDE PDWE 8 C3 Sheet Metal Nibbler Needle Rust Remover - Filling the oil nebuliser unit

Commissioning

  • Connect the compressed air supply line of the tool to be connected to the quick coupling 5 of the compressed air maintenance unit. A triangle „▶“ on the surface of the unit indicates the direction of flow of the compressed air.
  • First release the lock by pulling the compressed air regulator 1 upwards (see fig. F).
  • Set the compressed air regulator 1 to the lowest level by turning it anticlockwise. The desired settings are adopted by pressing the compressed air regulator 1 down.
  • Connect the compressed air supply line of the compressed air source to the plug nipple 12 of the compressed air maintenance unit. Directly at the inlet there is a triangle „▶“ on the surface indicating the direction of flow of the compressed air.

4.1 Setting the working pressure
After connecting the compressed air maintenance unit to a compressed air source, you can set the desired operating pressure using the compressed air regulator 1.
The working pressure of the compressed air source is indicated on the compressed air manometer 11.

  • First release the lock by pulling the compressed air regulator 1 upwards (see fig. F).
  • Turning counterclockwise reduces the pressure. Turning clockwise increases the pressure.
  • Lock the setting by pressing the compressed air regulator 1 down.

4.2 Filter unit

  • The filter unit 14 is linked to the compressed air regulator 1. The maximum working pressure is 8 bar and the operating pressure is adjustable from 0.5 – 8 bar. The filter unit 14 is used to filter condensate and stores the condensate in the condensate collection tank 9.
  • You can check the condensate level through the transparent viewing surfaces (see fig. C on the fold-out page). The stored condensate can be drained via the drain valve 8.

4.3 Condensate drain

  • It is prohibited to use the filter unit 14 without the condensate collection tank 9 mounted.

NOTE
Make sure that the compressed air maintenance unit has been disconnected from the compressed air source before emptying the condensate collection container 9. Otherwise the collected condensate may spray out uncontrolled.
The drain valve 8 opens as soon as it is disconnected from the compressed air.
To empty the stored condensate from the condensate – collection container 9, use an appropriate container.
Press from below against the drain valve 8 fig. (see G), this opens and the condensate flows into the container.

4.4 Oil mist unit
The oil fogger unit 13 is linked to the filter unit 14. Its function is to oil the filtered compressed air.
You can check the fill level of the oil reservoir 7 through the viewing surfaces. Only use suitable oil for this compressed air maintenance unit.

  • Remove the maintenance unit from the compressed air source before adding oil.
  • Turn the oil passage screw 4, which is mounted on the sight glass, clockwise (“-” ) to decrease the required amount of oil. Turn it anticlockwise (“+” ) to increase the amount of oil.
  • The integrated sight glass enables constant monitoring of the filtered compressed air.
  • To refill oil, unscrew the screw of the oil refill inlet 3 with a suitable Allen key. Fill the reservoir using a suitable funnel and then tighten the screw again with the spanner.
Error Cause Solution
The lubrication is not sufficient. Oil passage screw 4 is closed too far in

the direction
(“-“).| Increase the amount of oil.
The compressed air oil quantity is too low, i.e. below the
minimum filling quantity.| Pour more oil into the oil reservoir 7.
Pay attention to the maximum filling quantity.
The operating pressure of the compressed air is too weak.| The pressure regulator 1 is turned too tight.| Increase the pressure.

Maintenance, cleaning and storage

WARNING! RISK OF INJURY! Disconnect the unit from the compressed air source before carrying out maintenance work.
NOTE
The compressed air maintenance unit must be serviced and overhauled regularly for proper functioning and to comply with safety requirements. Improper and incorrect operation can lead to failures and damage to the unit.

  • Never use abrasive and/or scratching cleaning agents or solvents. These could damage the plastic parts of the compressed air maintenance unit.
  • Make sure that water never gets inside the oiler.
  • Make sure that the housing and the inside of the compressed air maintenance unit remain free of dust and dirt. To do this, regularly wipe the compressed air maintenance unit with a clean cloth.
  • Clean the compressed air maintenance unit and the connections at regular intervals with a damp cloth.
  • Empty the condensate collection container 9 of the compressed air maintenance unit at regular intervals. To do this, press the drain valve 8 (see fig. G) on the underside upwards. Note that the compressed air maintenance unit must be pressure-free for safety. Disconnect the compressed air maintenance unit from the compressed air source. The release valve 8 opens as soon as it is disconnected from the compressed air.
